Restaurant Repair Company - 6hr labor

Restaurant Repair Company

Charged for 6 hours of labor on a repair that took 68 minutes. Not an exaggeration -- we have…read moresecurity camera timestamps. Technician arrived at 12:33 PM, walked out at 1:42 PM. Invoice #70118 billed $720 labor (6 hrs × $120/hr) with no time breakdown, plus a duplicate $60 travel + $40 fuel charge for a 15-minute drive. I offered to pay for the actual time worked -- $177 at their own rate. Pending their response. Disorganized, dismissive, and completely unprofessional…read more The owner, Ted, frequently posts Craigslist ads under different names--"The Cali Company" and "The Cali Group"--asking for help building his restaurant repair services business. I responded to one of those ads and spent 18 days in direct communication with him via email, text, and phone. I even built a full custom plan tailored to his needs. We spoke on the phone just 24 hours before I followed up, and the very next day he acted like he didn't know who I was. This wasn't a misunderstanding--it's a pattern of forgetfulness, broken communication, and zero follow-through. I've attached screenshots of the Craigslist ads I responded to--complete with the company's branded "Restaurant Repair" sign and specific job postings. He's constantly reposting under different titles, seeking full-time help, then ghosting the people who respond. Reading other reviews here (like from Cher P., Ken M., Kris P., and others), I now realize this isn't just happening to me. Customers and professionals alike are reporting the same disorganization, lack of professionalism, billing issues, and general chaos. In 2025, people need to be held accountable. This isn't how you treat professionals trying to help grow your business. If you're thinking about working with him in any capacity--don't. --Christopher V.
