My mother was encouraged to come to this facility to recover after knee surgery. She was told she…read morewould get excellent care here and that there were nothing but strong reviews. We didn't have that experience at all. The rooms were small and shared. My mother's roommate said that she had been waiting for batteries for her tv remote for 4 hours and that the tv was stuck on sports and on a high volume. She was still waiting for a walker as she had already been there for a couple of days and had asked for bedrails but they would not be there for a few more days. She also mentioned she had been waiting for hours for pain meds. When my mother asked about bed rails they also said it would be three days before she would have them. Upon arrival in her room there was a pair of dirty socks on the nightstand and a nebulizer that had a used mask and medication. We pointed it out to the staff and they shrugged and left them where they were found. My mother was in pain and we asked about medication. They offered Tylenol around 7pm and we had to request an ice pack for her knee. We asked about her evening meds and they said they hadn't received anything- we were concerned because my mother is diabetic and has other health conditions that require regular medication. The staff seemed unconcerned and dismissive. We received a call from my mother at 1:30 AM that there were bugs crawling on the walls, the room was hot, and they had not provided her with pain medication or another ice pack. She felt feverish around 3:00AM and we went to the facility and they hesitated letting us in as hours of visitation are only 8am-8pm. They had the nerve to tell my dad that my mom did nothing but complain. We were shocked at the lack of compassion. We felt so sorry for the people who rely on this place for rehabilitation and also for their long term residence. We strongly ask case managers who recommend this place to actually go visit and see where they are sending patients for rehabilitative care.

As someone with a Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt, this made me happy! I remember examples of hospitals and this one would have made the cut! Everything appeared to be very orderly from the pre-op to recovery. The staff were all super friendly and compassionate. I was in for a 30-40 minutes procedure and all in for about four hours. All the prep and post work took much longer than the procedure, but I really appreciated the attention to details.

Walking in the front door- you don't find anyone at the front desk. I breezed in, started wandering around the facility, and nobody was around- the halls were empty of people working there. That seems to be the general feeling of the place- grossly understaffed. My grandmother has been complaining about the fact that she hits the button that calls the nurses, and nobody shows up for five hours. Five Hours. They haven't been able to deliver her prescribed pain medications, because the facility has been out for days. Days. How does a medical facility run out of medicine?! The management here is largely absent. It's taken days to get to see a doctor. Days! This place is completely inept. Don't send your loved ones here. The one guy on duty doesn't have nearly enough time to get to see them. Beware!

Trinity referred me to Dr. Tamayo. During our call, he was very nice, informative and detailed in his analysis of the options available for my aunt. He outlined the subscription services that he provides. After an assessment of the level of care she requires outside of palliative hospice, I felt subscription service may be too excessive in scope and price since she does not see doctors regularly. In any event, I am writing this review to inform readers that this doctor seems to be on the up on up and may be ideal for anyone who wants to control medical expenses while receiving optimum care. I absolutely loved my experience at the Physical Rehabilitation Institute, and that's saying a lot…read morebecause I think physical therapists are modern day torture agents. Dr. Molina has a bedside manner that should be taught in every medical school in the US. He assessed my knee injury without any medical records or films (thanks Army medicine) and told me, in detail and in a way I could understand it, what he believed the issue was. The next visit, I brought in the results of both my CT scans, X-rays, and MRI, and he was 100% correct with his diagnosis. Everything he said was wrong was proven on the studies. The office staff are personal, with just the right amount of conversation and instructions on what exercises I needed to do, what they were designed for, and how to do them properly at home without the equipment. My rating was increased by 1/2 star from 4 1/2 because the only "negative" and I use that word very loosely, was that they play Christian music and have Bibles out throughout the office. If you're not a religious person or a Christian, that may make you feel out of place or uncomfortable. I believe it's their prerogative to play whatever they feel in their private facility, but it did stand out to me as I considered how people of other faiths would feel. The care you receive at this facility outweighs that, but I'm also not an extremely devout religious person.

This was literally the worst medical experience I have ever had. I came in with a running injury…read moreand I was told to stop all lower body workouts, to stop running during the treatment, and to consider retiring from running entirely (I am not even 30 and have never had an injury before this). Dr. Bussey never even asked to see my running form! I would always have to wait at least 20 minutes minimum (up to 45 minutes once) to see him. He never made adjustments to my treatment plan and when I told him of new pain, he would dismiss it, blaming it on my lifestyle choices without asking about them (though I did the same lifestyle choices with no pain prior to the injury). Due to not working out my lower body, I actually got worse by the end of my time with him. He had an attitude that gave me the impression he was disinterested and burnt out and every time I would tell him about my new pains, he would dismiss them, so I never returned. DO NOT GO TO THIS PHYSICAL THERAPIST. I did like the front office girls and the techs - that is the only redemptive part of the experience. If you are looking for amazing Physical Therapists, GO TO PROMOTION!!! Promotion Physical Therapy has a Stone Oak location as well as many others throughout San Antonio. I went to them a few months after my time with Dr Bussey where I couldn't even tolerate sitting for more than 45 minutes (at its worse, I couldn't even last 10 minutes - like I said, I got WORSE under Dr. Bussey's care). It turns out I was a "complex case," but Dr. Oliva and Dr. Papke who were both assigned to my case took the time to sit, listen, constantly reassess, and explain what was going on. I have predominantly worked with Dr. Papke, and I am so grateful for how kind, validating, and competent he is. I no longer have daily pains & am slowly upping my running volume, which I have been trying to do since my injury in November!
