Great place to stop in for a little treat for yourself or a gift for someone. We grabbed some local fresh bread and a handmade wreath. Although this is 30 minutes from our front door, it is our go to when we're looking for pastured pork or poultry products. (We don't eat beef but they have that too.) If they had a good selection of local lamb cuts it would be golden for us - our favorite protein - but it is a harder sell for them so they carry less. (Americans consume on average only 1 pound of lamb / person / year. And about 97 pounds of chicken per person annually. Both are shocking numbers.) We purchased bone-in pork shoulder from Malheur which I boned and cut up for Asado de Bodas (aka Mexican wedding stew, I think, sort of mole meets asado de puerco) cutting off the beautiful fresh fat cap to render down for sauteing the veg, and using the bone to make a pork broth to freeze for pozole sometime in the future. And if you like to cook Italian food, Malheur made jowl bacon (otherwise known in Italy as guanciale) this winter which was sold here and is THE perfect thing for carbonara and Amatriciana sauces. My Brooklyn born hubby is Italian heritage and grew up with an Italian speaking nonna in the kitchen so we have used a lot of guanciale - not in Boise though where it is hard to find - and this is the best we have ever used. Still not carrying much fresh market produce but they have added Acme Bread to the line up and on Saturdays I think Acme rotates in a special kind of loaf. From time to time they have had "meet the maker" tastings on Saturdays for some of the vendors they carry. And here's a tip you'll thank me for - if they have local Morning Star Acres jam on the shelf, buy it. Especially the huckleberry! SERVICE: The owner is on site almost all the time, very friendly, very responsive to FB messaging if you have questions about something in stock and always able to help by phone too before making a trip if you're looking for something specific. SET UP: Small but with a good expanse of windows it is light and bright and well organized with refrigerator / freezer case along one wall, larder / pantry shelving next to that with food products for sale and other items - like local artists and crafters goods for sale- also placed around the store. ACCESSIBILITY: ADA parking correctly designed for van access striping on the passenger side adjacent to building. Small ramp up to sidewalk. All on one floor. Ample floor clearance. The loo fails ADA and Idaho code compliance with counters and towel dispenser too high. The eat in counter has only high stool level seating so inaccessible. The ADA is 30 years old in July and it is past time to get this right everywhere for equal access. (Yep. I have a dog in this hunt since I have had MS since college.) LOCATION: In the Bench neighborhood right across from Idaho Youth Ranch thrift shop and just next door to a Vincent St. Paul sales store. PARKING: Private lot has about 15 parking spaces.

It comes with four falafel and two samosas, hummus, and a salad. I didnt get any samosas just six falafels. If they had told me they were out I'd have ordered something else. The hummus had no flavor, the garlic sauce had no flavor, the salad was tasteless. I had to add salt because they only put an oil on it. I wasn't satisfied with the food. I don't think the falafel was even homemade. They looked and tasted frozen. I was very disappointed in the meal. It looks pretty, but had no flavor. Also, parking. There is absolutely no parking. The surrounding businesses wont let you park in their connected lot. You will get towed. Parking in their lot, you pull in and there isn't a back road, you have to put your vehicle in reverse to get out. Can he dangerous if you park all the way in.

So, we met the parents here, checked out the menu and got our lunches ordered! Deciding on lunch was hard for me. The sandwich i got my husband looked fabulous the last time I got it for him. But....... I'm a sucker for anything pot pie. As hard as it was to make a decision, I went with with the pot pie. I got it in a meal with the broccoli salad. My husband gave grabbed the sliders today. He said it stood out to him. No regrets on the turkey pot pie! It came out hot! There was a good amount of turkey and veggies to it. The sauce was creamy. I love that the biscuits on top wasn't dense and thick. The biscuits were light and airy. I finished 3/4 for the container. I wanted to work on the brocolli salad. This brocolli salad was legit so good! The brocolli still had a good bite to it! The cranberries were sweet. It had nice pieces of bacon. It had plenty of sauce covering all the ingredients in the salad. It was a tasty broccoli salad. My husband devoured his ham sliders and the side of mac and cheese. My in laws were quite impressed with their sandwiches and sides as well. We have decided that we will be coming back soon for lunch again! Same as last time, the staff was super friendly and the venue a clean. I loved every part of my lunch! I can't wait to come back and try something different!

What a great candy store!!!…read more First of all it is such a throwback to the original candy stores, I mean way way back. It's wonderful!! The store has bulk, candy from the past, and current candies like pez. The people at the counter were wonderful. They have soda in the coolers. Little gift packages you can fill and buy, boxes and pails. I got Keroppi candy. And a Pez for my mom I'd never seen before. Everything is so tempting!! It's a bit pricy though. Bring your money... if I can afford it, you can too.

They always have such a big variety of goodies. Walking in, it's hard not to get overwhelmed by all the goodies, colors and displays. We went straight to the display counter to look at the truffles and to see if they had the Dubai bar. We were the only ones in the store. It was quite weird not to see a sales associate for a good amount of time. We located the bar, she decided against the bar since she can get one local for the same price and almost double in size. We walked around the store and looked at all the fun stuff. I love how everything is so organized and clean. When you have multiple customers through out the day going in and out of a bin, it's nice to see that it's clean. I personally don't like candy in bulk cause of potential germ contamination. But honestly, I have boughten candy from this joint and I have never had any issues since they keep it so clean. If your looking for a small sweet treat, Lolli and Pops would be a great store to grab your goodies at. Our even a fun gift for someone that likes sweets. They have a little of everything which is nice! Customer service wasn't the best when we were there. But we didn't stress about it. Maybe next time customer service will be better.

We were the only patrons on a Wednesday evening. We both ordered chile rellenos with pinto beans, rice, pico and a little lettuce. It was delicious and hit the spot after a long drive there from Denver! Be aware this isn't a fancy place and you order at the counter. The food comes in round foil containers, and plastic ware is what you'll eat with. So it's like takeout whether you eat in or take it away. But after traveling all day we didn't need a fancy place and this fit the bill. We just wanted tasty food and that's what we got. The tortillas were a hair thicker than the norm, and seemed like they made them there (hence the name). I remembered photos about halfway through my meal so you'll have to see what others posted.

Central/South America landscapers or construction workers. Their presence is a very good sign! 2. A salsa bar with carrots and jalapenos in addition to at least four salsa coices. 3. The meat selection and specifically lengua, cow tongue. If att three are present, you are in for a really good meal. Sadly, none of the three were found, but they did gave fish tacos, which I ordered along with a Mexican Coke. While they didn't have hirchata, they did have an acceptable variety of appropriate Mexican drinks. I always start a plate by trying the rice and beans. If you can't get these right, there is little hope for anything else. While both the rice and beans were the right texture, neither under or over cooked, but I must note that the rice was not fried before being prepared, it was too fluffy. We always fry the rice at home before adding liquids to it. They were also on the bland side. The rice needs significantly more spice, the beans need a little roasted jalapeno and a little farm cheese on top. This would take them from okay to good, maybe even great! The tacos, first thing I looked for was if there was cabbage or lettuce. Lettuce if fine for most other meats, but cabbage is absolutely essential to the correct flavor profile. Also noted were cillantro and a little sauce. Sadly there is no salsa bar or else I'd have put some tomatillo salsa on them. I wasn't asked if I wanted salsa when I picked up my order. They use flour tortillas and while their flour tortillas were good, tasted at least locally made if not onsite, I expect corn. This feels like a somewhat authentic Mexican restaurant but toned down for the local Idaho pallet. Having lived in three of the four southern border states, and eaten in all four, and being married to a Mexican for forty years, I tend to look for the three things I mentioned, so will leave this place for the local, heat and spice averse diners.
