I've been a member here for two years and have overall enjoyed the experience. Are half the…read moreexhibits empty most days? Yeah. Is the splash pad literally disintegrating? Yep. But the elephants and the monkeys are my kids favorites so we renewed our membership. We always bring snacks and spend our entire morning there, stopping to munch on the grass or at the splash pad. That is, until today. Checking in as normal and the guy insists on searching my cooler bag. First time in two years the cooler bag has even been acknowledged but ok? I'm then told because have shredded chicken for my kids as a snack it's not allowed in. I have to take everything back to my car or I'm not allowed entry. But don't you worry, if I had potato chips or any other unhealthy bagged snacks then that's totally fine to bring in!! If I want to pay for my yearly membership and then go eat in the parking lot I'm totally welcome to do that. How generous! Unfortunately last time I checked I can go eat at just about any park for FREE, I don't pay for a membership to eat in the parking lot. My children have bad allergies so I bring our food pretty much everywhere and I thought the zoo was a safe place but apparently not. We finished our visit (early of course because ya know my kids were hungry and we had to rush through everything so I could trek them back through the parking lot to our exclusive dining spot to eat our contraband chicken) and as I'm walking out the door what do I see?? A man rolling an honest to God IGLOO COOLER. ROLLING IT. Full of seed oil fried Cheese Puffs I'm sure!! So idk if the gate keepers were just on a power trip today and felt like they wanted to discriminate against children with allergies or what, but I'll definitely be considering this experience when/if I renew next year. If you're considering a membership for your children, the McWane has never one time given me an ounce of issue about bringing food in, just saying.

It was a well organized event that went smoothly. We had 3 lanes reserved for 2 hours. Our group enjoyed the snack bar and the bar on site. There is also a game room. The staff I encountered were all nice. The restrooms were clean as well as the facility overall. Even though I didn't win, I still really had a fun time!!!! I definitely plan to do more bowling soon.

The lanes are tucked away in the back, so you get the entire area to yourselves. One of the best parts is that you can pay a little extra to bring your own food. I definitely took advantage of that because why not? My only complaint is that 2 hours just isn't enough for a full event or party. I would suggest changing to at least 2 1/2 or 3 hours. Other than that, everything went smoothly from booking to check-in. Would definitely recommend for a fun group outing or celebration!

The Fultondale Children's Park is a great spot for families! The large grounds features a fenced in…read moreplayground and pavilion area as well as a grassy area with swings and statues of animals. Restrooms and additional picnic tables are available as well, but make sure you have a permit before having a party at the tables (call 205-281-7950 for permits) and note you are NOT allowed to have birthday parties under the pavilion per city ordinances. The Children's Park is located across the parking lot from the Fultondale Bark Park and you can also reach the Rails to Trails, 3.4 mile, running path from the park (note, it's a 3 mile trail if you start from The Children's Park and run left, take the path on the right and you're .4 miles from Black Creek Park). If you're looking to lengthen your run, the park itself has a gravel trail that runs the perimeters. If you take the path surrounding the park, you'll also meet up with Black Creek, there are a handful of benches to lounge on as your enjoy the sound of running water. This park has plenty of open spaces if you're looking to run around, lots of trees and plenty of parking. Two things to note: the front gate of the playground is regularly broken, so much so that it will not open enough to get a stroller or wheel chair through. There are two side gates you can use. Also, the park shoulders Stouts Road, which can have very high traffic, and only has a farm fence stopping children from running into the street. Definitely use caution if you have wandering little ones. Otherwise, look for the statues of the giraffe, fish, elephant, hippo and more and have a great time!

I called and got the answering machine telling me to email them. I emailed them Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. I stopped by at all different times when they said they were open online. Nobody was ever there. Finally received an email from someone FRIDAY saying they gave me a credit to use in future. I don't live there never coming back. I stop by to get reimbursed and finally someone showed up to work! I was told just to email customer service over and over again. That there's no corporate. No one to speak to. No register at the escape room. Sounds SUS to me. ‍

Parking was easy from the road and near the play area. They had a blacktop walking/biking trail and a nice little creek with a cute bridge. There were a couple bench type swings that were broken and laying on the ground and the play equipment could use a powerwash or fresh coat of paint along with fresh mulch. It has a huge field for picnics, dog walks or kids playing, two playground areas and two covered pavilions. The restrooms were locked on this visit. Hopefully the city will also fix the water fountain that isn't operable when we visited. Overall, it's a nice park to visit. Just use the restroom before going and take your own water.

There is a small walking strip that basically walks around in a circle I'm a field of grass. Along the way there are a few benches and a small gazebo. They also have a small children's playground. Honestly, there is not much to this little place. Maybe if you grab lunch at Gus's Hot Dogs in the shopping plaza next to hear and want to eat outside, you can head over here and sit under the gazebo. Otherwise, I cannot see how else it could be helpful.
