Uzum is a nice place to take a break and relax after sight seeing and shopping. The atmosphere is refined but relaxing. The front porch offers a view of a well kept garden and the streets of Sirince just beyond. The inside lounges are richly decorated in eclectic fashion with interesting authentic arts and crafts that are local and international. There is an upper level lounge with comfortable table seating as well as sofas in the lounge area. Soft music sets a romantic and relaxing mood inside Uzum. From upstairs you can get a great view of the village on 3 sides. Sadly, I'm not a connoisseur of either of their specialties, local wines and coffee but I am told by those who know that they are very good. I did very much enjoy their other offerings and service. They serve a variety of Turkish appetizers known as "meze" or "tapas" in the Latin world. I enjoyed flash fried mild peppers served with a garlic yogurt sauce drizzled over the peppers, fresh fruit, Feta cheese, assorted hard cheeses, eggplant dip, crushed walnut dip, and fresh bread. I also experienced an amazing warm moist chocolate cake that was topped with an amazingly thin slice of ice cream that seemingly fit perfectly over the cake square edges and all. Their menu is very much seasonal and very enticing. While serving local wines is one of their specialties they do have a full bar serving a variety of common as well as Uzum's original cocktails. Uzum is owner operated and the service is extremely attentive and welcoming. This is a must stop for those visiting Sirince.

Standouts were the herb salad, this tangy bubbling pan of soft cheese, the pishi (spelled that wrong). Ambience is A+ as well. If you're looking for a bomb relaxing breakfast, look no further.
