They make several mezzes and salads which are served by the portion so you choose as few or as many as you. They also have some meat entrees like kofte and lamb. We chose 4 different mezzes and a portion of lamb to share. Everything was delicious, the food was so flavorful. It's difficult to pick any particular item to highlight because they were all so but the pumpkin, the stuffed grape leaves and the lamb definitely are a must! The taste of homemade food comes across with every bite from beginning to end. They open for lunch from 2-5pm only, not sure if these are the hours all year round or only in the summer. The tables are all outdoor in their garden which adds a relaxing atmosphere to the dining experience.

What an amazing breakfast/ brunch spot tucked away on the outskirts of Alacati and Illica. This…read moregorgeous restaurant offers a traditional "turkish breakfast" with spreads, fruits, and vegetables that you can see growing directly in front of the restaurant. There is a standard Turkish breakfast that is served for a fixed price with an option to add extras like and omlet, sucuk eggs, pastirma eggs, sausage, sucuk, sigara borek, and various drinks like lattes/ lemonades. We opted for just the standard breakfast and that was more than enough for our group- there was so much food we could barely finish it all. The turkish breakfast comes with an assortment of breads, jams, tomatoes, cheese, cucumbers, spreads, eggs, tea and fruit. The location is absolutely fabulous as it is tucked away from the condensed streets of Alacati with an amazing view of the sea. There is thankfully plenty of shade to hide yourself from the hot summer heat and if you're lucky enough to visit on a breezy day the Meditteranean winds will help keep you cool. We dined with four people and the bill set us back 300TL which with today's conversion is right about $35. Can't beat that price for such an amazing breakfast!

I actually enjoy Turkish breakfasts quite a bit more than American ones, as the variation of items to taste and choose from widens the possibility that I'll find something I'll love. The honey himself really enjoyed the tahini and honey mix and I was a huge fan of the different varieties of quince and orange preserves which could be spread on the local simit (or since I was in Izmir, gevrek). Additionally, I also ordered an omelet which, while it had a little too much egg and not enough meat for me, was very tasty. The tea as well was delicious and I adored the individually wrapped sugar cubes to make it a just a smidge sweeter. Another thing to note is that the orange juice served at Ayasaranda Imren is not as sweet as we're used to in the states, and had a surprising tartness to it that I enjoyed alongside the preserves. Overall, if you're in Izmir Ayasaranda Imren Restaurant has a gorgeous view and is definitely worth a stop in!

Hands down the best seafood meal I had while visiting Alacati and Cesme. Just to give you a little…read morebackground on this place, the chef's family who operates the restaurant used to have a fish market in Cesme, their entire family being made of fisherman who would go out and catch all the fish in the morning to sell in the fish market. The chef started to cook a few fish here and there for some of the customers of the fish market and the people loved it so much that the chef opened a tiny restaurant by the sea in Cesme which only sat around 4 groups of people. Fast forward a few years and the restaurant gained a ton of popularity to the point where the restaurant was constantly getting 3 stars (out of 3) in Turkey's gastronomy review book. Once this happened the restaurant soared in popularity and so they opened a larger restaurant in the heart of Cesme. The popularity of this restaurant is rooted in the amazing and tasty food it produces. The chef, coming from a fishing background, knows how to execute a seafood dish to perfection. The signature dish of this restaurant is a mixed seafood pasta which I would 100% recommend getting. The portion is HUGE so I would recommend splitting it with one (or two) other person. I shared my seafood pasta dish with my mom and we still couldn't finish the dish (and I eat a lot of food!!). I think the best option when coming here is to order some mezze dishes and then either a pasta dish or a grilled fish dish depending on your party size. The one other notable appetizer we had was the grilled calamari. I was so thankful to have finally had some calamari which didn't taste like rubber (a lot of restaurants have a tendency to overcook calamari). This restaurant is on the pricier side, the seafood pasta dish set me back 90 liras but with the USD to Lira conversion rate it's a very reasonable price (by NYC standards) for the quality and quantity of food you are getting. If you're in the high season which is June - August I would definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. The first time we called they were booked solid for the next 3 days so we had to come in on a Monday night when it was less crowded.
