Imren Lokantasi is one of the only large "fast food" style lokantas on the Cesme strip. The…read morerestaurant may seem small when you first pass by but there is a large garden in the back available for seating. They have many mezze options you can order from at the entrance of the restaurant. Once you've selected your foods your waiter will bring them to your table. After a few hours of shopping in Cesme and walking around Imren Lokantasi hit the spot. The food was speedy and good enough. If you're looking for more of a fine dining experience I'd recommend trying out one of the fish restaurants that are on the marina. For what we wanted, which was a quick food stop before resuming shopping, Imren Lokantasi was perfect. My favorite dish at this location oddly enough turned out to be the kizartilmis patlican (fried eggplant). The manti, which is normally my favorite go-to dish in Turkey, seemed like it had been sitting in water for a little too long since the dough tasted like it had retained a ton of water. The dish flavors were still on point so this may be a safer bet earlier in the day. Overall if I'm in need of a quick meal while shopping I'll probably come here again. If I want a more luxurious dining experience I'm probably headed to one of the fish restaurants along the marina.

Even though pricey compared to the quality of the food served, it is still the best restaurant you…read morecan find at Cesme/Izmir.

Hands down the best seafood meal I had while visiting Alacati and Cesme. Just to give you a little…read morebackground on this place, the chef's family who operates the restaurant used to have a fish market in Cesme, their entire family being made of fisherman who would go out and catch all the fish in the morning to sell in the fish market. The chef started to cook a few fish here and there for some of the customers of the fish market and the people loved it so much that the chef opened a tiny restaurant by the sea in Cesme which only sat around 4 groups of people. Fast forward a few years and the restaurant gained a ton of popularity to the point where the restaurant was constantly getting 3 stars (out of 3) in Turkey's gastronomy review book. Once this happened the restaurant soared in popularity and so they opened a larger restaurant in the heart of Cesme. The popularity of this restaurant is rooted in the amazing and tasty food it produces. The chef, coming from a fishing background, knows how to execute a seafood dish to perfection. The signature dish of this restaurant is a mixed seafood pasta which I would 100% recommend getting. The portion is HUGE so I would recommend splitting it with one (or two) other person. I shared my seafood pasta dish with my mom and we still couldn't finish the dish (and I eat a lot of food!!). I think the best option when coming here is to order some mezze dishes and then either a pasta dish or a grilled fish dish depending on your party size. The one other notable appetizer we had was the grilled calamari. I was so thankful to have finally had some calamari which didn't taste like rubber (a lot of restaurants have a tendency to overcook calamari). This restaurant is on the pricier side, the seafood pasta dish set me back 90 liras but with the USD to Lira conversion rate it's a very reasonable price (by NYC standards) for the quality and quantity of food you are getting. If you're in the high season which is June - August I would definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. The first time we called they were booked solid for the next 3 days so we had to come in on a Monday night when it was less crowded.

Guess what, I'm going to start this review off with a "you're welcome" because after you come here,…read morehave an amazing meal, start patting your bellies in satisfaction, you're gonna think, "man, i'm glad we read that one review on yelp that brought us here" lol, and no I'm not sponsored, just someone who occasionally comes to cesme every now and then for vacation and has eaten here twice in a period of three days, because it was that good! Of course, as you yelpers know, there's always a catch. The catch here is that the restaurant consists of like 4 tables. So make a reservation. Don't speak turkish? Just grab someone off the street to translate for you. Trust me, its worth it. When you arrive, go inside and pick out three or four meze to start off. Bread will be served from the bakery literally across the street. I would suggest the following: borulce, patlican salatasi, yogurtlu patlican, semizotu, ahtapot. Next, order the calamari. Again, you're welcome. Now its your call, you can go with a large fish to share with all of your friends, or if you're in the mood for carbs, order the seafood pasta and ask them to put lobster in it "Istakozlu makarna". Get some of our national drink "raki" and when you're full, don't forget to share the leftovers with the street cats circling your feet. You're welcome!
