Perfect place for an intimated Date, a celebration with friends, family or coworkers. Top notch…read morequality & the place to be in Hanover. Close to the Central Train Station, Opera and best Hotel in town. This place is buzzing with local and international celebrities, politicians and religious leaders. The service is the best in town, the seafood is unparalleled and the Crème brûlée is divine. The Italian design and decor plus the acoustics of the Kröpcke Passage in Hannover round up a perfect evening accompanied by an inventive Maestro in the Piano. Writing this makes me want to hop on a train or plane and book a table inside or outside on ,,La Strada." I will be back!

The scallop and beet appetizer was incredible, and we both ordered pasta- penne with vegetables and tagliatelle with meat sauce. Both were superb, and the owner recommended a wine from Sardegna (Argiolas Senea) that was unbelievably good for the money. Finish with the best tiramisu I've ever had, capped off with some limoncello and we left in a happy placed. Highly recommended. PS Why is this listed as 4 stars in price- the scallop appetizer, two pasta entree's, a bottle of excellent Italian wine, and dessert came to €81. The wine alone sells in the US for almost $30/btl.

First, don't get the "Aperitivo" plate unless you want to eat a bunch of cold veggies. I was expecting some "salumi" on my plate being that the plate costs €9, it didn't. I got the a glass of Montepulciano and I literally got a glass, not a wine glass mind you, but a wine in a glass you'd use for water. On a positive note, the service and the price is great. The pasta was how I expected it to be: al dente. Overall, if you're used to authentic Italian cuisine, you'd fine this acceptable. I'd recommend this place to my Italian friends except the antipasti.

I intensely regret having to leave a review for a restaurant at which I have not eaten, but I…read moretried. people, I tried! Others on Yelp have grumped about the curious plastic card system in use at the restaurants in the Vapiano chain, and my experience is no more than the logical extremity of theirs. When I entered, the cashier at the front wordlessly handed me a credit-card sized plastic card. I went into the restaurant--the smells were very good--and sat down. No one came to take my order. I examined the menu, in both German and English, but it did not describe any procedure. I waved my mysterious card at passing servers, but they just rushed by. I searched the restaurant carefully for a poster telling customers how to order or some kind of orifice into which to insert the card (like an ATM?) but found nothing. I sat back down and tried to go on the web to find instructions or consult Yelp but I could not get a strong enough signal. I finally went back to the door to ask the cashier what I was supposed to do, but he had a long line of people--all looking happily fed, I must report--wanting to pay their bills, so I returned to my seat. After half an hour of this frustration--and with the departure of my train approaching--I picked up my luggage and joined the line at the front. The cashier ran the card. "Vot? Have you ordered nozzing?" I nodded. He put my card away without another word and I left the restaurant none the wiser. [My rating of 3 is intended to be neutral because I was unable to try the food].

Holy moly! Who knew the best pizza I'd ever find would be in Hannover?…read more I had dinner twice at H'ugo's and have to say that both times our meals were outstanding! The service was a bit spotty both nights but I think it was due to the busy-ness of the restaurant. We tried plates full of appetizers, shrimp scampi that was fantastic, meat platters and dessert platters. Everything was extremely fresh and flavorful. They also had a great cocktail menu and the bartender made a mean Aperol Spritz. I also loved the outdoor courtyard with covered ceiling so we could enjoy being outdoors but not freezing. They also had blankets available for us to cozy up with. And the outdoor lighting was great and made for an intimate dinner.
