I stopped in after looking at the Galleria D'Italia, a space with free exhibits owned by Banca d'Intesa. This caffe has a warm wood interior. You may order at your table any of the food or drinks and the waitstaff will bring it to you. I spent a countless number of times at de Canto because I had just window-shopped along the Via Montenapoleone or had visited Rizzoli in the Galleria nearby or just wanted an oasis of quiet in this mad, chaotic city that was away from the crowds. There is no copperto so you don't pay extra to sit or stand. It's copperto free! I enjoyed having a cup of tea in each visit. If you order a coffee, you get a small piece of Venchi chocolate - a nice treat! Tired from shopping, from visiting the Duomo, from your crazy co-workers or sweetheart who has been nagging you all day, stop by de Canto. You will leave refreshed and feeling very zen.

We stopped Bjork around 2:30pm after a long train ride from Riomaggiore. The kitchen was not open at the time, but they had some freshly prepared open sandwiches. They looked like Swedish sushi - beautiful presentation. The staff was very friendly and spoke good English. The store looks like it was cut out of a Scandinavian furniture magazine - very well appointed.

Prices are on the high side but most of these products are difficult (maybe impossible) to find in town. They are planning to open a brasserie in the coming months, but in the meantime their Swedish and Italian chefs provide catering for your Scandinavian-inspired events.

For dinner, I had the special of the day: stuffed zucchini and pasta served with a special sauce. Though the portion was small, it was extremely filling. The light flavors of the sauce and pasta also made this dish easy to eat. The pizzas here also seemed extremely popular (with everyone ordering them), so we also ordered one. Though I don't remember what it was called (see photo), it was delicious. The crust was perfect and it was absolutely stuffed with toppings. Mmmm. My dad ordered Spaghetti alle Vongole (Spaghetti with Clams), an Italian specialty, and it tasted like seafood heaven. The flavors in that dish were extremely fresh and tasty. It's difficult to judge a Chinese buffet in Italy, because there are very little competitions and…read morefrankly, you're in Milan! But it's easy because I'm a former Chinese buffet expert so I can break it down to you: there are some good items here, many average ones, and some really horrific. Good ones to try: large shrimp, beef, or anything that is from the grill area. Their fried rice was above average (but don't fill up on that since you'll get full really quickly). Seafood salad (by the salad bar), pineapple (in season) and stir-fry shrimp were also good. Average: everything else, minus the horrific ones below. Horrific: sushi (not as fresh/cold as I'd like), any of the dim sum items, stir-fry section (not to be confused with the grilled section, which you don't choose sauce), teriyaki chicken (overcooked), spare ribs (overcooked) Having said that, $20 euro per person isn't that bad, considering the variety of things you can get. Pro tip: even if you put 6-7 large shrimp on your plate (from the grilling section), they will only bring you 3-4. So separate them into multiple plates with something random (example: if you want 7 shrimp, put 3 + slice of beef on 1 plate, and 4 + slice of chicken on another plate). Pro tip 2: gelato is $1 more
