Everyone was there and the tables are shared. I would call the food very delicious and of the local regional favorites. I had some spinach/cheese/bread dumplings that looked like giant gnocchi that were out of this world. Unlike many of the places we dined at, Trattoria Gasparo's guests were Italian. When the food arrived, we quickly learned why it was so popular with the local crowd. We started with an antipasto - a tagliere of local Italian hams. Many were flavorful and imprssive. We ordered the two of the dishes that Brescia is known for: Casoncelli alla Bresciana and Mericonde with Butter and Sage. Casoncelli is like tortellini, but with a thinner, finer pasta, and a deeply flavored filling. Mericonde is like a meatball, but made with spinach, bread, garlic, milk - and no meat. While this may not sound exotic, the flavor extraordinarily delicious. The service was amazing. The maître d' personally helped us with the menu and made sure that everything was perfect.

Prices are more expensive than most around town but they have the reputation and longevity to demand for it. Got a few traditional dishes of the area and a bottle of the local vino. They did have English menus for us and 2 of the waiters we met speak great English. The price was equivalent if not better than the prices in Los Angeles, Ca. This gives me a feeling like an Gelena's in Venice, Ca. That hipster vibe in Brescia! Yes! I recommend calling in or stopping by. It was busy but not packed on a Wednesday night.
