Was very good indeed. Just had a refurbishment but didn't see much change though. Customer service was again excellent. Very friendly staff.

The setting is quite slick which entices you and your expectations to a higher level; only for the service and food to bring you back down that bit harder. Mixed up orders, half served tables, limited wine selections and nothing fresh but the pizza oven. All the meals looked the part but you could see the overuse of bland as a key ingredient. We had time to stay for dessert but after the lacklustre bland meals we saved ourselves from further disappointment. If you are in Didcot for an evening and/or a trip to the local cineworld, go to Al Gusto instead.

Three of us shared a selection of flatbreads which were tasty with different toppings. For my main course I opted for the carbonara which is my favourite Italian dish, unfortunately this version did not live up to my expectations at all. It was a generous portion but it wasn't very hot and it was covered in grated cheddar cheese that was not melted, it was very underwhelming. The staff were nice enough but didn't really seem to know what they were doing. We waited a while to have our order taken, then a young lad came over to ask us what dessert we wanted, we'd not even had our drinks order taken! There isn't much competition in Didcot for this type of restaurant and I think that has made them complacent - they need to up their game.
