David the concierge is 11/10 -- and I'm not exaggerating. The manager is a solid 9/10. Long story short: we didn't purchase our tickets online and tried buying them in person, but the kiosk showed only one ticket left. Instead of simply saying "sorry, we're full," they went the extra mile. After the movie started at 7 PM, they checked again around 7:15 for any no-shows. There were seats available, so they sold us the tickets and got us in. That level of follow-up and effort is rare these days. If you still believe in going to the movies, don't waste your time anywhere else. Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Downtown Los Angeles is the place to go.

Bring me back the old school Alamo drafthouse. @drafthouse I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED. On top of barely getting a real meal the price was 80 bucks! We didn't even get beers.

The DTLA skyline views are incredible--watching the sunset turn into city lights while the movie started made everything feel so romantic and magical. We snagged a loveseat, which was super comfy for cuddling up, and the wireless headphones gave us crystal-clear sound without any outside noise interrupting the classic lines and soundtrack. The vibe on the rooftop is relaxed but lively--great drinks and snacks to enjoy before the film starts. Pretty Woman felt even more special in this open-air setting; we were both smiling and quoting lines the whole time. My girlfriend absolutely loved it, and so did I. If you're looking for a fun, memorable way to watch a movie (especially a rom-com on a date), this is it. Highly recommend-- we'll definitely be back for more screenings!

Enter the hotel through the garage and you'll see signage for the Rooftop Cinema Club. About halfway down the garage, there'll be an attendant helping people up the elevator. It's a little bit of a maze but there's tons of signage and people to help along the way! I got the loveseat fire package and was able to choose either a complimentary hot chocolate or popcorn. Our seat was next to a real wood fire which was great for the cold LA night! There's also a bar - beers, wine, and canned cocktails available. There weren't any entree type of meals but there were tons of snacks like candy, chips, popcorn, hot dogs, and pretzels. They gave us Bluetooth headphones for the movie. The sound wasn't great - definitely not full frequency but it did the job. The headphone's clamp force was also quite tight. The seating is all first come first serve no matter what package you get. We came early to get good seats but honestly it didn't look like there was a bad seat in the house. The screen is up high and large so you could really sit anywhere and still have a good view. They also had games laid out to play while you waited for the movie to start. The whole staff was super friendly and helpful. Definitely a great experience! The only thing I would change is getting better quality headphones. Or allowing movie goers to bring their own headphones and connect via Bluetooth.

Automatic doors don't work. Security at the front door to check bags. I preordered my snacks didn't realize I had to send them a notification to say I wanted my order made... I thought it would be ready based off my movie time and I could grab & go -- nope had to wait. Inquired when the movie would start told "it officially starts at 1:20pm" I thought: okay, cool! After some time: Food was finally ready then I have to show my ticket!? Recommendations: The security check and ticket check should be combined. No one has time to go through security checks, grab snacks then try to fumble thru your phone with snacks to show a ticket.... Irritant: The person who checked my ticket... did not do a great job at articulating herself "take 2 elevators or you can take the escalator in the back"!? Two elevators!? Girl what!? I just figured it out on my own. Got to the elevator took it to the 2nd floor and there's a nice view of the fwy. Then I get to my movie... it's already playing!? What happen to it "officially" starting at 1:20pm? Annoyed was an understatement. Seat/Snacks: comfy, recliner style with table + cup holder Nachos/churros/icee -- 10/10 The movie: Ricky was beautifully done. Depicts 2nd chancers struggles upon release and how having support can stop recidivism was a huge take away. Anywho, after the movie I spoke to the manager: Jasmine. Explained what happen as I didn't see the beginning on the movie she offered for me to see it again --another time or see the next showing. I really appreciated that! The experience with the manger took a 3 star experience to 4 stars! I'd return again! Important to note: parking is only validated for 4 hours. After that you're on your own! You can also purchase concessions at the kiosk when you purchase your tickets online which is super convenient. But unfortunately, you still have to stand in line to get your items, but at least the ordering part is out of the way. We went to see a movie on opening weekend, I was surprised that the movie was all the way up on the 3rd floor. That's inconvenient if you want to go buy more concessions or get refills because the only concession stand open is located on the first floor. It takes a lot of time to go down 3 floors then stand in line, so keep that in mind if you're in the 3rd floor. On the way up to the 3rd floor there were some kids playing in the elevator, no parents in site and not employees there to stop them from riding the rails. If you park in the correct parking lot they validate for discount parking. They have a security guard at the front door that checks bags.

Sandra D. and I went expecting to find cute guys (haha!) but all we found were seriously amazing…read moreclassic cars! We got our tickets via Groupon/ two days for two people for $35. That was a great deal considering the "day of" ticket prices were $30 for one day and $50 for two days. They did have an online option to save money by buying tix early and they did offer senior, military and children's discounts. We took the Metro Blue Line to Pico Station and walked about one block over. No rain today! The Classic Auto Show ran from March 2-4 and featured 1,000 cars on two different floors of the LA Convention Center. We missed the movie night with the Steve McQueen classic, 1968's "Bullitt". As soon as we walked in, we were immediately wowed by all the cool cars! Some of my favorites were: 1929 Chrysler Imperial Locke Body Roadster 1931 Marmon V16 Four Door Sedan - 1 of only 365 1931 Dusenberg SJ Murphy with Disappearing Top 1938 Citroen Dubonnet Hispano-Suiza H6B Xena - only ONE in existence! And then there was the Michael Jackson-themed, "Star Car" complete with side panel pictures of MJ's life (the normal parts) and a music soundtrack. Very cool. There were oddities like the Horny Trike and the Astromech Star Wars themed car with R2D2 installed in the back. There were also Airstreams, a few tricked out motorcycles, classic Mustangs galore and an event stage where there was an interview with a wrestler whose name I didn't catch going on. No, Kim T., it wasn't The Rock. The Back to the Future DeLorean was there and you could sit and take a photo for $10. The Austin Powers car was there too. Also, there was a friendly guy selling DVD of old LA racetracks and that was interesting. Overall, it was a pleasant event for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Yelp Challenge 2018: 24/100

This was a fun event for me as I hadn't been to a car show since before our daughters (ages 3 and 4) were born. We own two classic cars, so this event was right up my alley. My husband did not complain at all about seeing the same cars from SEMA, the L.A. Auto Show, the Petersen Museum, his Street Rodder & Hot Rod magazines, etc. Won't hear me complaining either. Any time I get to vote I do. Make sure to vote for your favorite car on Grand Boulevard. Children are allowed. Our kiddos were free, but still needed a ticket. There was a KidZone on the first floor. While it wasn't anything spectacular, it was still great for a necessary break for our girls. Plus they got to use their voting power on a kids' favorite car. I guess Dave Kindig was unable to make his slot time for an interview downstairs. We'll give him a break since it was raining that day (3/2/18). Instead we were happy to meet Dennis Gage (and that handlebar mustache) who filled in... nicest man. Autographs. Photos. Chatted for a while. Car gear heads in general are good people, though. TIPS - $20 parking in the LA Convention Center garage - 2018 had two floors of cars... use the escalators, stairs or elevators - if you watch Velocity, Discovery Channel or Speed Channel you'll see some of the cars they built on their shows here too I look forward to the next event as this one seems to be attracting more people and a broader showcase of all makes and models each time. Here, VIP balcony or Lower Balcony is the only way to go. 2) Sound. Here, especially on the balcony, bass and clarity for a hip hop show of this caliber was on point. 3) Cleanliness and Space. Restrooms were very clean, well tended to and sufficient with enough stalls so no lines stealing from your time to enjoy the show. Whole venue has simple, real class to it. 4) In & Out with ease. Security smooth, plenty of exit options, including an elevator with an attendant. I don't like feeling crowded or like I'm gettin' caught in a cow herd. The Hollywood Bowl is the only venue I'd compromise this preference for simply because it's the only venue worth that sacrifice. 5) Parking. Lots of parking but get there early enough and check for other events the same day as your show. We made the mistake of not coming early enough to account for the Laker game that day. I had a great time, especially for it being my first time there.

I enjoyed this show WAY more than the previous show with Dayseeker, but this is mainly because I am more familiar with the artist, so this would be the second time that I got to see Matt and their crew perform twice. The venue itself is really nice and modernized, and is located in an entertainment hub, so you will see a good amount of bars and other entertainment venues nearby. I do know that it is not a ground-floor venue, so you have to climb stairs or take an escalator/elevator. I personally do not buy concessions here due to me being cheap, but they offer free water at the bars, which I personally like, as most venues force you to purchase bottled water or use a drinking fountain. The cheap tickets are all part of the upstairs seated area, while the lower floor area costs more. From what I know, there aren't really any assigned seats, so it's first come first serve, but you will have people standing up during the main act, of course, because concertgoers will be concertgoers. The seats are very comfortable, bathrooms are accessible, and people who need ADA seating get their own separate section. The location, given that it's in DTLA, is so accessible by public transit that I can't even name all of the buses that run nearby off the top of my head. You can also take the 2 nearby trains, the A and the E, and get off at Pico station the same way you would for a Lakers, Sparks, or Kings game, Crypto.com Arena concert, or LA Convention Center event. I am somewhat familiar with the DTLA area, and I recommend concertgoers, if they feel comfortable doing so, to explore cheaper eating options away from the area if they plan to save money-- I do this all the time. I know that there is a Denny's, Wendy's, and Fatburger down the street. You have Chick Fil-A, Chipotle, 7-Eleven, and Jollibee along 7th Street by the BLOC area. You can also ride the train or bus to go further out-- there is a Dave's Hot Chicken by Little Tokyo Japanese Plaza that I love going to all the time. Dutch Bros by USC just opened up, by the California ScienCenter.

Even though it was free, it was awful. Beef short ribs were plain and not braised completely, chewy. The sauce was unexplainable. The Mac salad had ridiculously huge chunks of pineapple in it which did not make sense. The " chow mein" had flecks of spam and some disgusting vinegary sauce. Huli-Huli chicken was a definite insult to the traditional Hawaiian dish. Caesar salad was wet and runny. Furikake potatoes made no sense. The cod was awful, rubbery and not good. BUT the charcuterie: prosciutto, Mortadella(bologna), and salami was delicious/but all three were cut too thick. Bad for food cost . Eat the stadium food instead. Better. A lot better. When you arrive, the buffet has no tables. There is a plate they bring to you. And apparently they exchange as you go back. NOT: We, actually my friends and other patrons, were returning to the buffet with the same dirty plates multiple times. And anyone in food service knows this is against Ca. Food regulations! The staff should've grabbed or exchanged their plates, especially the person at the carving station.

You have the options to go to two bars and their patio lounge area. Keep in mind that there is nothing free at this lounge. You must pay what you order. From Scanned Barcodes to buffets, payment is applied. The only advantages I see this lounge for is privacy to the restrooms and privacy to grear conversations that applies to business get togethers or dates. Nothing special to offer but relaxation and chill. Cool ambiance, reminds me of the roaring 40s theme. Old school but modern. Great view of LA Live from the outside seating area. Good to go if you are given the opportunity. Our waitress was alittle slow. She could of been more attentive to our needs. Overall cool place. Drink prices are the same inside or outside of the Lexus club. The only difference is this club has a $87 buffet per person. Literally expensive for the average minimum wage joe.
