The service was attentive and generally friendly except for an issue with the wine. They asked if we'd like their insights on a wine and my Italian wife specified that we wanted a local light red (more specific details given). They recommended a Valpolicella Superiore which we ordered. However the bottle they chose had 15.5% alcohol and was just about the opposite of what we asked. Further it tasted off. The waiter kept saying look at the cork, as if that made the wine taste better. Eventually they agreed to change the wine to something much closer to what we requested but the scene they made put a damper on the evening. As for the food. This was also mixed. The ossobuco was very firm, have had this dish numerous times across Italy and this was the firmest and poorest prepared. The Maialino (braised pork) and applesauce was tender and quite good. Contori of asparagus and mixed grilled veggies were well prepared. Prices on the higher side.

After days of pasta and just before leaving Italy it was time to have a Pizza. Unfortunately, the…read morepizzaria we had in mind was closed for the season already but next door an establishment appraised them self as a pizzaria too and, it looked like locals go there, so why not. The "maître-d" was nice and welcoming, the assigned waiter not that much. We ordered salad, some pasta and yes, pizza. The mentioned waiter prepared the salad sauce at the table with balsamico and olive oil, but it somehow disappeared in the giant bowl. The pasta was meh, compared to what we enjoyed of the last few days and the pizza ... Well, first it took forever (probably I'm the idiot ordering one during dinner service?) and it was just too think and not that good after all. The sad ambience didn't help to make this a good experience unfortunately. But! It was reasonably priced, almost cheap and ok to eat after all.

We ordered a Caesar salad, yes I know it's not Italian, but it sucked, head lettuce, mini bagged croutons, very boring dressing, okay chicken and cheese. 20€. My wife ordered linguine in clam sauce and I got carbonara. The linguine was okay, the carbonara was inedible. It came and looked like it sat on a counter for 45 minutes. Tried to eat it but sauce was a clumpy gooey mess with a few pieces of guanciale. I complained and they took it off the bill.....kind of. Later I happened to look at an alert from CC company and it was way more than I expected, so I looked at the bill and they overcharged me. Went back and they still didn't charge me the correct amount. I just left out of frustration. Find another restaurant if you're in Sirmione.
