I am really surprised this restaurant isn't more highly ranked cause this was my third time, and I consider it to the best Lebanese food I have EVER had. And it's not just the quantity of food, but also the quality of the food which is amazing and keeps me coming back as well as recommending it to both locals and visitors. Everything just tastes super fresh and authentic.
Was actually introduced to this restaurant last year by a Lebanese-American colleague, and we went here for his b'day. I then went back earlier this year for another b'day party, and this 3rd time went for a farewell dinner for a work colleague. I think this place definitely shines for groups, as they make it easy to split bill (just let server know when ordering food).
The best value is a mezzo tasting menu options. Like Fred P said in his review, 31 euros for the mezzo, which does not include drinks or dessert also feels expensive to me, but again, food is so good and plentiful, (make sure you come here hungry b/c there is so much food, and it keeps coming) that I don't mind the price that much. This time we all got drinks and a bottle of water for the table and between the 6 of us, we paid 35 euros each.
So, onto the food: we got pickles (green chilies, capsicum, green olives, carrot medley) to start us off. But very quickly we got pita bread, falafel, tabbouleh, babganoush, hummus, Lubneh, broad beans (aka Fava beans, which Hannibal made famous), cabbage salad, sesame cream, kofta x2 kinds, with lamb, a cheese and spinach stuffed pastry and shrimp in a lovely lemon sauce. For the two vegetarians, there was a veg plate consisting of cauliflower roasted with sumac, and super creamy breaded and fried eggplant-very delish. They also got a goats cheese salad, which was really lovely. For the meat-eaters, we got a plate of tender and juicy chicken, just perfectly roasted lamb, and also just beautiful seasoned lamb kofta. For me, the standout was the baba ganoush (just perfectly smoky) and the sesame cream (silky smooth). So that's 16 plates (I hope am not forgetting anything......?) for 31 euros, which works out to €1.93 per dish, and that is a bargain! The mezzo is also a great way to taste Lebanese food, if you are a newcomer to the cuisine.
I have had the baklava on a previous occasion, but we didn't order it this time, however from what I remember, it was pretty darn good. Service is nice, the servers speak English and describe the food as it comes the table, and are attentive in refilling the pita bread basket. I am giving them 5 stars, even though my Mint tea glass was like only 2/3 full (the other 2 ppl on my table who also had ordered the Mint tea, their glasses had more volume).
Oh also, I don't know why, but my signal inside the restaurant was super weak. I had to go outside the restaurant, and only the was able to check into Yelp. read more
