The restaurant theme was emphasized by a large collection of puppets hanging from the ceiling and the walls. The lightning was just right and the interior was actually quite cozy. So far so good. We waited a long time at the door until someone came to welcome us. We had reserved upfront (which is recommended) and were pointed a table in the far corner by a waiter with a total lack professionalism. We walked ourselves to a table we hoped was ours. It took around 15 minutes and many attempts from our side before we managed to get someone to take our orders. We had an aperitif and order our various dishes. (The menu contains traditional Belgian dishes) Over the food we can very short. There was no personal touch, it was served and looked as if it came out of a canteen. The entree of 'scampis a l'ail' looked as if it came from the local frietkot. The cappaccio de boeuf was swimming in olive oil and one needed a loop to find the Parmesan cheese. The jamboneau was overdone and the meat was dry. All the time we were there, not one waiter came to ask if we were ok, if we needed anything else. Even for desert it took us 15 minutes to get the attention of the waiter. Maybe this was because of the 70's and. 80's music that was screaming from the speakers which made any conversation impossible. This restaurant was an experience to forget very fast. I promised my mother a new dinner next week and apologized to her on behalf of the restaurant.

On top of that, the food is absolutely delicious, and we found the staff very attentive and friendly. The drinks were all very good too - from the mint tea to the champagne. Lastly, the desserts we tried were simple, but delicious - the thin slices of orange for example were a perfect contrast to the chicken/green olive tajine earlier. Although we were the last people left in the restaurant, the staff never rushed us, brought us our coats and even took time to explain the decor and design ideas. Main courses aren't cheap, but when you consider how difficult it was to find flaws in the evening, it's hard to see that as a downside. If you visit their website you can see they've gone out of their way to stand out as a high quality restaurant. Recommended.

Possibly the best pasta I've had, possibly better than Italy. The atmosphere, small space, simple and fresh flavors with only one chef cooking your meal 20 feet away from you makes the entire experience the best pasta I've had. The menu is written on a whiteboard and orders taken on post it notes. Simple, old school, traditional, perfection.

While they…read morewere fully booked I was able to charm the hostess into squeezing me and my main squeeze into a table for two. Be prepared to be patient! This is not fast food.. and there is one Chef in the kitchen doing absolutely everything.. You will be rewarded in due time. The Buratta Mozzarella was creamy and paired with asparagus dressed in more freshly shaved truffle than I deserved... A flavor combination that hooked me instantly. A pot arrived steaming.. looking in all i could see was Truffle!!! its like i hit the truffle lottery and the stuff was being shaved from above raining down on me like snow. The Risotto was brothy mushroom.. not the thicker oatmeal like incarnation i have grown accustomed to. Perfectly seasoned and warmed my insides like a furnace... The portions were large even by american standards as I attempted to eat my way out of the packed restaurant. A chefs pan arrived with thick tagliatelle pasta and a whole lobster. A dish naturally seasoned by the briney release of my clawed friends juices... I ate like it was my job... I was an embarrassment in my dizzy frenzy.. I ate things on other peoples tables.. I could not control myself... I bit the waitress... I can not show my face in Brussels again.

We started with the three samosa appetizer. Delicate but very flavorful, served with a simple mango chutney. For main dishes, we chose: the grilled salmon "à la méditerranéenne," the tandoori chicken, and the white fish "rougaille de capitaine." We all tasted each other's dish and were all equally impressed. As I said, when we were done, the plates were empty. For dessert, we split the "tarte tatin flambée au Calvados." It came with a tiny scoop of perfect vanilla ice cream which married exquisitely with the apples and Calvados flavor of the tarte. By the time we finished eating, the place was packed. But the continuous increase in the number of diners did not slow down the service at all. Our waiter was attentive throughout, quite charming, and spoke absolutely fluent English and French (not to mention Spanish). We couldn't have asked for a more delightful and delicious dining experience.
