Compared to the CTA / PACE transit in the Chicago & metropolitan area, Akrons transportation system is great! I took a day pass and rid various lines. The Akron union Station where all busses meet & even to catch other transit busses, amazing! They got a bus to CAK, Canton and I believe a bus to Cleveland though it makes more sense to have a train. The busses are clean! They are cheap and go through a vast array of places, friendly faces too! Would definitely ride again! read more

I am above-knee amputee confined to wheelchair and have brain damages and get lost easy. I recent moved to a new wheelchair apt and usually call for scat for my rides but thought I could make it alone and was trying to go to Wolfe ledges USPS and got lost. I use a manual wheelchair and today was a heat advisory day and I was going up the hills then going wrong ways I was getting over-heated even with water breaks. I think a Metro supervisor saw me and called in to a Scat driver Evelyn who gave me a courtesy ride to the post office and returned my to apt cause I just had to drop off change address forms and go. The Akron Bus company is a unique place where diversity of all people ride to their various places in and out of the Akron areas. The staff of Akron bus station is very kind, friendly and professional who cares about getting the residents of Akron the information they need to go. A definite 5-star bus station. Also, it's one of the cleanest bus stations in Ohio period. The bathrooms are immaculate and the maintenance crew does a good job with the lawn care. Called their customer service to get a refund. A lady answered and I explained how I meant to buy the "green colored metro's day pass" but instead bought their "purple metro pass". Was immediately told no refund. The two company's logos both just say Metro with the only difference being the color. Also when I use 'purchase tickets' button from the page of my selected route, the app directed me to the purple Metro page instead of the green one. I was dumbfounded that they do not issue refunds. So I asked a couple times to reconfirm and was confronted by "you shoulda checked first before you bought the ticket" with an attitude. I explained again how I come to buy the wrong ticket. How their logo is purple Metro and the one I tried to buy was a green one. She then asked if I bought my ticket through Ezfare. Then She tried to argue how I was on the wrong for not explaining the situation correctly. Girl, who even purchase tickets at the window anymore? When I called the green Metro for help, the first thing they asked was what my email address is and looked up my purchase history. That lady then helped me with the information that how the purple Metro's company name is Akron and that I needed to contact them for refund. But this Akron lady tells me to call Ezfare instead and hangs up. Ezfare doesn't even have customer service number to call. This app is not optimized to be user friendly, and this Akron company is making money off of people's mistake. Awful. read more

still a major undertaking to get to stores from copley & diagonal. the only improvements made in this senior & disabled community is that new siding was put on the john brown house. we have no decent sidewalks to travel on foot to go to our own post office via a normal 10-minute walk. in winter with snow piled up along roadside, we have to walk in the street. this historical neighborhood is cared for by the city of akron much better than its senior & disabled. we need sidewalks & a shuttle that will stop at our buildings at saferstein i & ii for service over to w. market. read more
