What a delightful experience. They have a wide selection of plants, garden supplies such as mulch,…read morestepping stones, garden tools, cards, jams jellies, and a plethora of other items. Comparing prices to the states, including exchange fees, the prices appear to be quite reasonable. The great service was frosting on the cake. The staff in the nursery were engaging & polite. The cashier (i think) told me the item i was buying wood be on sale the next month if i wanted to wait. That was an unexpected service.

I wanted them already a bit grown so I can get ahead start growing my vegetables. As for the fish, they had two gold fish, but a decent selection of other fish, pretty much they carry the low maintenance easy to take care of fish, nothing too exotic, but they did have some ugly eel looking fish that were not eels. They were creepy. Great selection of plants, flowers, cactus, seeds, and nutrition for the following. You can also find chicken feed, bird feed, dog food, cat food, fish food. The prices are fair, a few pounds below Pets at Home. They have a good selection of dog toys, dental hygiene products for dogs, hygiene products for dogs and dog treats. I didn't bother to look at the cat section due to not having a cat I didn't pay attention. They have a variety of guinea pigs, rats, birds, domestic fish, live meal worms, live crickets and live grasshoppers. I loved their selection of cacti. I found several I wanted for my office at work, but went against buying a cactus in fear I would get in trouble at work for pulling out the sharp spines and placing them on the seat of my cubicle mate's chair. I abstained from the cactus purchase. Left with some lavender seeds and parsley seeds, which were on discount for discount £0.99, two knuckle bones for the dogs, some dried sausage for the dogs, and Arm and Hammer toothbrushes and toothpaste for the dogs. I look forward to my next adventure at Fordham Nursery.

The customer service at…read morereception was absolutely revolting rude disrespectful and absolutely not welcoming Needs lot of improvement on reception desk Disappointed We simply had forgotten our Makro card and asked if we could have a temporary one, the lady at the desk got vey rude stating that if I had no ID there is no way that we could enter especially as we had 7 of us in a group, but she then allowed another extended family of 7 in all together with no issues I did mention this and again she said that I should not get funny with her and do I want to go in or not Fortunately the deputy manager was there who stepped in and gave us a day pass and allowed us in together to shop. What a disappointing experience from the lady (unknown) at reception, no manners or people skills.. Leave this with you to explore further Kind regards Aleksei

The outside garden section was not impressive as far as the plants were concerned, but maybe in recognition of this, most were being sold at half price! On the positive there were some attractive and reasonably priced pots. Instore, the best areas were the outdoor furniture, catering equipment and the wide range of business supplies. Staffing levels appeared to be good as well as being attentive to customers requiring help. As is usual for every Makro store I've been to, the toilets are positioned at the entrance on the outer side, which is annoying if you need to use them during the middle of your shopping. The instore cafe was clean, and had a variety of snacks and hot meals from which to choose. Staff were pleasant and food was prepared quickly and tasted lovely.

CostCo in England is one of the few places you can get many American foods which is great for a yank like myself while working overseas. On top of the American products, they naturally have many British products in bulk, as well Word on my street is they only sell to businesses in the UK so thank goodness for my American CostCo card, woohoo! They have the signature beef hot dog (American hot dogs are hard to find in the UK) for the super cheap price of just 1.50 pounds and it comes with a pop. Fantastic deal and reminded me of being at home.

That said, I also love looking around at Costco in the UK as people purchase flats of scones and gargantuan boxes of tea. There's a happy commentary about international relations in that visual, I think. Or maybe people the world over just like to shop. Whichever whatever. Prices are good, but not always a mega-deal (if you're a die-hard bargain shopper). However, there is a great range of American products, which end up being _much_ more affordable than purchasing them (plus shipping) on "US product" sites or special ordering them. Multi-pound tub of Red Vines? Yeah, I'm looking at you. To round out the experience I'd also like to note: hotdogs, like back in 'Murrica, are also 1.50. Slices of pizza (cheese, pepperoni, BBQ chicken) are 1.60 or so. Full pizzas also available for impromptu pizza parties (or, like, you and your bestie watching True Blood). To cater to British tastes the chicken caesar has been swapped out for jacket potatoes, but all else is in order. It's a great place to cheaply grab a bite of simple carbs and saturated fats. Yum dash oh. Beware weekends, and avoid Christmas times. Trust. Yelp note: note the opening hours: hours for those with "business" cards are different than for those, like lil' ol' me, with standard issue cards. Double-note: cash, no credit.

All paid for with my card when accompanied by the member, my mother. Cannot process refund I was told as my mother, an 80-year old grieving widow must come in and return the items herself. I explained that this would be difficult for her as she would be on her own. Doesn't matter, not their problem as they have policies in place. CHAD, the manager and truly an unsympathetic moron, asserted that GDPR is the reason. What on earth does GDPR have to do with returning items in a store? CHAD couldn't even bring himself to mutter a simple "sorry for your loss..." Disgraceful and arrogant conduct. He finished the discussion with a threat to terminate my mother's membership as he found my comment that I would be posting this episode on social media unacceptable. I see many negative comments on Costco Watford associated specifically with CHAD. Please return this guy to stacking shelves where he belongs.
