As it is a variant of an all you can eat buffet, we expected the food to be average, maybe if we get lucky, slightly above average, but the expectations were shattered. Niso Sushi offers a wide variety of foods, including several types of sushi, both classic and american types. As we had a japanesse friend with us, he said the sushi was good even for his high standards. First time in my life I saw a triangular sushi, but it definetely was the best piece I've had in a long time. The price is normal for Denmark, as it was 180dkk (~25eur) but the experience provided for the price was out of this world. I will definetely come back, as for now - best sushi place in town.

We're so glad we did. Though the dinner menu is compact, the variety was broad. My wife normally has limited options on menus, was actually able to select from various offerings, and the kitchen was additionally accommodating. Bread service was immediate as we ordered our wine. We both ordered the Turbot, served in a light cream sauce with peas and ham (bacon?) for seasoning. My wife's dish did not have the ham, and easily the sauce on the side. The texture and flavor of the fish was excellent. It came with a side of roasted new potatoes. We so enjoyed the peas in our fish dish, we ordered a side dish of just the sweet peas, served al dente. We quickly devoured this too. One dessert to share...a chocolate cake, dusted w cocoa with a 23 karat gold leaf, served with a peach/mango ice cream. Also delicious. There is a normal hot buffet to choose from, including the must-have soup, as well as a raw meat and vegetable section which the chefs will cook for you, including your choice of sauce (i.e. hot, spicy, mild, garlic, no garlic, etc). The buffet costs about 170 kroners which is good value for money in this area of Denmark! Drinks are expensive, for someone from outside Denmark, but not much above the local rates. Definitely one of the top places to eat in Sonderborg though.
