It is now 5pm and I am still waiting to see the doctor only to discuss results... Then the front desk looks at ME weirdly and tells me it's first come first serve. If that's the case what's the point of securing appointments. Obviously the system is flawed here. I will most likely be looking elsewhere if I ever need to see the cardiologist again (which I hope is never).

My physician is Dr Sanjeev Palta. I would definitely recommend him, as he and his staff do a very thorough job. He also takes the time to explain things to his patients, and has a friendly manner, unlike some other doctors I've seen in the past. It is never pleasant going to the doctor under any circumstances, but Dr Palta and his staff certainly do their best to make it as painless an experience as possible.

Not only is he a wonderful doctor, but Dr. Patel is also an exemplary man. My first experience with Dr. Patel was ten years ago when he diagnosed an aortic aneurysm using imaging he performed after hearing my description of symptoms. This is a condition that is fatal unless surgically corrected. The interest and concern that Dr. Patel showed for me as his patient was extraordinary, and after going through the surgery and recovery I am good as new thanks to him. Dr. Patel is my cardiologist, but he is also my first line primary care doctor. His diagnostic skills are impressive, and he has gotten to know me as a person, not just a patient. He even remembers the names of my cats! Dr. Patel is kind and caring. He is attentive and gives as much time as needed to address any medical issues. I have found him to be available almost any time that I needed an appointment and despite the number of people that are sometimes in the waiting room, the traffic is handled very well and there is rarely a long wait. Dr. Patel's practice offers the total experience as is evidenced by his outstanding staff. To a person I have always found the staff here to be excellent from the front desk to the administrative staff, billing, technicians and assistants--all reflect the values that Dr. Patel has imbued in his office. Everyone is treated with respect and concern. His office manager, Jose, is superb at his job. The office is very well equipped and many functions including phlebotomy, ekg, echocardiograms, stress tests and more are done onsite. Dr. Patel is one of a kind. You will not find a better doctor anywhere.

Pro's: close to my apartment, Dr. Ahmad was nice enough when I met him in person. Some of the staff were really trying. Con's: you have to advocate for yourself SO HARD here and even be aggressive just to get things done and moving, since the staff are so disorganized and unprofessional. I needed a copy of my echo and it turned into the most difficult process, involving me calling and talking to multiple staff and insisting I needed the reports that my pulmonologist required instead of a follow-up / going in person and talking to multiple staff just to slowly find out they didn't have anyone who knew how to export a sonogram file / running to Walgreens to get a USB for them / dropping that off / returning the next day when the person that knew how to export the file was in. Also, I was told I'd get the results on a Saturday, sure enough got a call, but was from a very confused Dr. Ahmad who asked me why he was calling me, then said he'd call back and hung up? I reached out Tuesday when I hadn't heard from him and after much back and forth the staff said he's call me the next day. He did call and report was abnormal. His explanation of what they found was very limited and without any detail on the severity etc. He told me he'd refer me to another specialist that I needed, asked for my email, then took 2 days to send a 1-line referral. The communication between the staff throughout the process was the worst, including resulting in me getting an EKG instead of an echo which the doc agreed was totally unnecessary.

I think of him as the…read moreperson who looked me in the eye in November of 2020 and, with both conviction and compassion, told me the truth that changed my life. That day, I walked into his office believing I was simply establishing care for some distant future. I walked out with a diagnosis that shook me to the core: severe diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. My A1C was 13.9, a number so high that it should have had me in a diabetic coma. Dr. Jones did not soften the blow. He told me clearly, "If you want to live, you have to change your life today." Those words, and the urgency in his voice, became the turning point of my entire health journey. Diabetes had ravaged the men in my family for generations. I had seen it take limbs, vision, and eventually life. That day, however, I chose to fight, and Dr. Jones chose to fight with me. What sets Dr. Jones apart is not only his extraordinary medical expertise, but also his humanity. He treats his patients as full people, not as charts or problems to be managed. In moments when other medical professionals dismissed me, mischaracterized me, or failed to listen, Dr. Jones advocated for me. He spoke up for my dignity when I no longer had the strength to do so. He defended my integrity when others tried to question it. He stood firm when it would have been easier to remain silent. That kind of advocacy cannot be taught. It comes from character, from a profound sense of calling, and from an unshakable moral compass. Today, because of Dr. Jones, I am no longer diabetic. My A1C has dropped below the critical 5.7 threshold. I have reversed an illness that once defined my family's legacy. I am healthier, stronger, and more alive than I have ever been. This is not only the result of lifestyle changes or discipline. It is the direct fruit of a doctor who believed in me, who guided me with wisdom, and who reminded me at every step that my life was worth saving. Dr. Jones represents what healthcare should be. He is the kind of physician who not only heals bodies but also strengthens families, sustains communities, and gives us more time with the people we love. I am forever grateful that our paths crossed. He is not just my doctor. He is, quite literally, the reason I am still here. If you are searching for a cardiologist who will combine brilliance with compassion, candor with care, and clinical excellence with genuine humanity, look no further. Dr. Jones is the one.

The person who cleaned him was too abrupt with my nephew and was angry, which is not our fault that she was angry, she has to share the problems, both work-related and personal, with the patients because nobody is responsible for what happens to her, especially us, the patients. In a very strange situation like this with what could be a bit scary, it is great to have someone who takes you thru every step of the procedure. I felt like my technologist was my personal companion thru out each step. I wasn't passed off from one person to the next -- she is your from time in to time out, a great comfort. Everyone calls you by your name. I must say this is the way I have always imagined health care should be. Yes, I am a fan....big time... so how come only 4 stars? Because the clinic is smack dab in the middle of the State and Federal Court complex. Ever try to park in the Slope? However at ease the staff will make you feel, the hassle that awaits you trying to find parking will wipe it all out. So take the train....yah, except if you are going for Nuclear PET or other such scans, which is what DCA mostly does. Your radiation level when you walk out their doors, as they will fully explain to you, is enough to trigger the detectors that are all over that area, and especially in the subway. Last thing you want after 3 hours of testing (mine was a stress test) is to get tackled by TSA agents in the subway because your body sets off a dirty bomb sensor. The clinic gives you a note that you can carry with you that will explain that you are a patient who just had nuclear isotopes pumped into your body and a number they can call to verify. I am sure THAT will not stop the TSA or cops from detaining you for who knows how long before they are convinced that it is on the level. And having dealt with TSA at airports, no question that you will be treated as a terrorist until they can be convinced otherwise. And try your best NOT to look like a terrorist....hehe. I suggest you could take the subway going, but best take a cab going home. DON'T take your car like I did and I racked up nearly $100 bucks in parking tickets for the time I was there. They only have one a hour parking limit, which is absurd given that ANY dealings with the court system will take longer than an hour just to get you into the building thru security. Would love it if these guys relocated to one of the outer boroughs at a mall or someplace that has ample parking, not in a residential area where you will pull your hair out if you need to make an appointment on time but and have to find parking first.
