Have you had a massage on the beach before? Here's your chance! We stayed at The Fives hotel, which was just a 15 minute walk to Akabal Spa. You're surrounded by beach goers and hotels, but none of that noise bothered me during my massage. If anything, I just focused on the sound of the waves and it was incredibly therapeutic. My massage with Cailin (sp?) was also amazing! She asked what kind of pressure I wanted and I said medium-hard, which ended up being too soft. I asked for increased pressure and she dug IN there. It seemed like she was on a pressure to relieve me of all my tension and knots, which I absolutely loved.
Be sure to bring cash. Massages are affordable! 450 pesos for a 30mins massage, 700 pesos for 1hr, and 900 pesos for 80mins.
Definitely recommend Akabal! They have big bottles of hand sanitizer on hand and staff wear masks. You can also request a female or male massage therapist. read more
