Karen Alvarez recorded and prepared a video of my horseback wedding on Mt. Diablo, and the subsequent reception farther down the mountain. Working with her was a sheer pleasure from beginning to end. She volunteered to come look at the site in advance, made excellent suggestions for moments we might wish to record--and went out of her way to get them, and then put them together into several drop-dead gorgeous videos for us to share with our out of town friends and relatives. One of the best shots, my wife and I riding up a snaking path on the hill into the sunrise, was her inspiration. It's an image that perfectly encapsulates the whole wedding. The style of videography she used for the occasion--dynamic, with a documentary slant, worked perfectly for a horseback wedding. It's such a difference having shots from different angles flowing together, overlaid with the music of our choice, than the usual amateur-dad-holding-a-video-recorded I'm used to for events. I think people who are not intimately involved with the wedding will actually enjoy watching it. Karen was organized and on top of getting the music, the photos, and all the different angles of the horses that came together so well. (Also: she's got a lot of experience videoing horses, and knows how to do so so that they look good!) Finally, as if all this weren't enough... the night after the wedding, she STAYED UP ALL NIGHT to put together a rough cut of the wedding and of our engagement and vows. I did not in any way ask for this (in fact, I told her not to worry about having it for the next-day reception), and she did it anyway. So many people at the reception came up to congratulate us and to say what a beautiful ceremony it had been. Holy smokes this woman delivers! I asked Karen, last minute, to shoot a video for my wedding and she not only squeezed me in after a full day of work, but she brought a second shooter with a drone! Karen is the best!! I contacted her maybe a month out from my wedding (perhaps less!) and she was immediately on the ball. She's extremely detailed and punctual. As a bride, you have a MILLION things going on in your brain. Karen made almost everything a no brainer for me, which I REALLY appreciated.
