A deal where you buy a $25 booklet and get a free beer at about 18-20 bars all throughout Des Moines and Ames. That's the deal. It's well known and an annual thing. We presented it to the bar tender as expected and was promptly told that they do not recognize it and only use it for BOGO's. That's simply not the deal that we paid for. Unfortunate.

Don't get me wrong, it's fun, but it's all over the place. Including the moose head full of bras, lol. The condensation from the AC ductwork is dripping all over the bar, including on the tables, chairs, and pool table. It wasn't too busy, but the bartender on shift didn't seem to want to acknowledge us while we waited at the bar to order. For the majority of the time we were there, she seemed as if she didn't want to be working and did not seem very happy. We did wind up getting a smile from her by the end of the night, though, and she seemed to cheer up a little. The bathrooms were an absolute disaster, and I would recommend risking a ticket going outside rather than using those bathrooms. They looked and smelled as if they hadn't been cleaned in months. Overall, the prices were not too bad. The specialty shots seemed a little steep for the small amount of alcohol that was actually in them, but they're "specialty," so...

We waited over 45 minutes for our food order to be taken. We were so annoyed and hungry! The point at which it was taken was only because I finally called out to our server and asked her if she could please take the order. Our party of four was on the verge of walking out. The food was brought quickly and was very good! The cessation salad was delicious and the BLT was loaded with bacon! They have an excellent bacon game! The shrimp po boy was executed very well! The bacon blu cheese burger was a bit of a miss- way too many raw onions and so much blu cheese sauce that it made picking it up to eat impossible and tasting anything but the dressing difficult. Once I used a fork and pulled out the hamburger patty, I can say it was cooked well. The winner was the sweet & sour bbq wings hands down!!! We needed a tub of that sauce! We had leftovers and were never offered a box. Some serious training and education in customer service is needed here for this place to see us stop in again. We may order the wings to go but that's about it. It's too bad.

I had lovely service and although I was dressed haphazardly as I only brought winter cloths in tights and a shirt I picked up at a secondhand store as, surprise, it's hitting the high 70's today ! I ordered tomato bisque and a side of French bread. I asked for balsamic oil and was met with blank stares from the young man and his trainee but he was good and quickly asked for an explanation of what it was and after my disbelief that an Italian place didn't have it, I was served a little bowl(without oil) of a balsamic reduction. Well, that was alright for me and waited for hue bread and soup while I eavesdropped and a watch the college kids walk by. The tomato bisque with bread, olive oil, a mountain of garlic and a balsamic reduction soon was served and I did not go away hungry!! Lovely place!
