We decided to recover a chair and a half since we couldn't find a new one in a fabric that we…read moreliked. We have cats and needed a firm tightly woven fabric that wouldn't encourage scratching. Joy Upholstery did a fabulous job in a short time frame since we are listing our house and needed it back for photos. They improved the original design by making the back cushion separate rather than attached to the frame, added a lining to that cushion and put heavier fabric under the chair that our cats wouldn't scratch up. We couldn't find a new chair this wonderful for anywhere close to the cost. Before and after photos below.

I had special custom fabric that I had to…read moreget installed to repair one arm and the seat of a chair in a short time period, basically before I needed to leave back out of town. Kile gave me the best price and it included the pickup fee whereas every other upholstered I tried wanted from $100 - $150 more for pickup. Had I have been able to use the fabric that he provided it would have included the fabric also. But considering that my fabric was custom made and I needed it repaired within two weeks I couldn't afford any mistakes with it. He made no mistakes, the repair was flawless. He picked it up on a Friday and returned it the next Friday well in advance of me catching my flight. I couldn't tell which parts had been repaired and which was the original. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I would recommend your service to anyone.

We had a 5 year old recliner not that expensive when new but was showing wear and we could not find…read moreone that was a swivel and a rocker the same size. So thought I would check into reupholstering it. Did my homework and want to share my thoughts. First called Lewis&Sheron, they were having a sale on fabrics ending that day so I went there. Walked in, several salespeople at desks, on phones. Someone directed me to an area to search fabrics. Finally after looking myself, asked someone if they could help. They spent about 5 minutes with me. There were maybe 3-4 other customers in the place. I decided on a fabric similar to what was on the chair and got an estimate. Labor was about $800, pick up and delivery was going to be $150 (I live about 5 miles at the most from store.) Anyway took a piece of the fabric home and thought "What am I thinking?!!" Chair was $500 new!! So I went to The Mad Stichers. The woman who waited on us was the daughter of the owner/upholsterer. She said the labor would be $1200!!!! Was very discouraged but thought we would try one more---Century. Erica had me at $475 labor and $75 pick up and delivery. Fabric selection was awesome. No issues whatsoever, the delivery guys were very nice. The chair was still more than the original price but the workmanship was outstanding, the chair is GORGEOUS if a recliner can ever be described that way and we would highly highly recommend them!! (Prices may not be accurate but are very close.)
