A great day out. We live at the end of the runway, so actually didn't need to pay to go in! Every afternoon after school we would go and sit on the pavement with the other locals and watch the awesome flying display. Some years we do go right in, but to be honest this year the kids were happy not to (thus saving a few bob as it's quite expensive!) Love it, and love having it on my doorstep. The only thing that really bugs me is the annoying fat cats who park outside our house - even across our driveway sometimes. This has to be the best Airshow I have been too! I now go every time which is every other year. This year was great as the Vulcan flew and there is only of them left in the world so it was lovely to be a part of it, the Airbus A380 was also there which was amazing to see what they can do with it. The Red Arrows are always my favourite and they never cease to amaze and impress me. The weather is usually good and this year was no expeption. There is lots of places to eat and drink and stalls to look around. There are flight simulators scattered around which are also fun and you can book a helicopter ride around the airfield aswell if you are feeling adventurous. The parking is ample and the staff are great considering they are under immense pressure as it gets VERY busy. Well worth going its not to ne missed! read more

open for one weekend to the public at very reasonable prices for adults and free for under 16s, you can definitely see why this airshow has become so famous. spending one year in paris, france and the other year in farnborough, people travel from all over the world, whether they be aircraft enthusiats, people looking to buy, or just curious spectators such as myself. the weather was gorgeous, the entertainment was AMAZING. with aircraft of all sorts including the extremely famous Red Arrows, there is no way to get bored. also includes helicopters in the show. this year, 2008, the new Airbus was introduced and to see it fly was phenominal, i cant wait to travel to france to see it next year. the organisers did a great job. residents need permits to park on their roads and the public carparks. which held 21,000 cars on the sunday and 17,000 on the saturday, yes a policeman told me, are about a 15min walk from the airshow entrance. free buses are available to get but walking is easier. with licensed bars and loads of food stall open till 8pm theres no need to dash back. loads of stalls and freebies to pickup as well. read more

This place was absolutely amazing. I went there with my air cadet squadron and had the time of my life, the Red Arrows were truly inspiring and made a excellent start to a delightful show. The Parachuters who had red steam coming from their feet where very entertaining and amusing. Once you had paid to get in, there were many free activities to do, i got my face painted as Batman, and the face painters were polite as were they excellent at what they do! It wasan amazing place where you could go with friends or family for a fantastic day! read more

Seriously one of the best air show displays you are likely to see anywhere in the uk. Has to be one of the best if not the best airshow in the UK. Entrance fee is quite expensive, but hey this event comes around every 2 years so what the heck. A walk around the 5 exhibition halls allows you an insight into the world of aviation with the various manufacturers exhibiting during the week to trade visitors, and allowing you to see engines, landing gear etc on the two public days (saturday and sunday) Personally I always attend on the sunday as exhibitors are keen to get rid of their freebies as they dont want to take them home. Came away this year with kids loaded to the brim with freebies i.e frisbees and caps. Overall a great family day out read more

I went here with the Air Cadets and i was truely amazed. The Red arrows where excellent when they drew a heart in the sky. Also the A380 Airbus took off and flew about abit. The spitfire and the eurofighter typhoon too. At first there were parachutists with smoke coming from their feet which was a great start to the great day. There were food stands and also great activities for small children like face painting and the mary-go-round. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to be going next time. read more
