I had just changed my pain management doctor; the doctor I had, Dr. Danshaw, had zero empathy and told me "all chronic pain patients just want to get high," and under-medicated me. I had chronic abdominal since 1994, and had been treated at the City of Hope for my cancer pain, but with obscene amounts of Fentanyl. Dr. Parsons started me on 75mcg of Belbuca. Each monthly visit, I told him it didn't help, and he upped the med 75mcg each visit, until I was taking 450mcg. I told him that it was having no affect on my pain. He said, "Well, you didn't convey that." ???!! Then why did he keep upping it?!! Dr. Parsons then moved to the Lake Worth office and Dr. Herrera spent a day or two at the Benbrook office. My pain went through the roof; I was in agony. My next visit was a pee test; unfortunately, I had just gone right before the visit. SUSPICION because I couldn't pee!!! Dr. Herrera & two nurses stood glaring at me. (I had found an old Vicodin in the back of my nightstand drawer and took it as I was desperate, 5 days before my visit. One of the nurses actually grabbed a handful of hair at the back of my head and pulled my head back, and started to ram a piece of plastic into the side of my gums. I struggled against this harsh treatment. She yelled at me to stop moving and said, "You have to wait until it turns blue!," and kept digging it into my gums. ??!!! Well, yeah, it turned blue. I felt like I was at the trials in Nuremberg. They all treated me like a back ally heroin addict, and basically, dropkicked me out the door. If you can find a doctor in the area who will actually treat your pain and have some empathy...good luck, because there isn't any pain "management" (haha!) doctor that will help you.

The lady doing my boyfriends iv was in a hurry so she did put his IV on a pressure bag and bolused it really quickly. While most of my IVs elsewhere take an hour to an hour and a half they bolused a liter into him in 20 minutes which seems like it could potentially be dangerous. He was fine though, didn't bruise since his veins are ropes and I trust that the nurse knew what she was doing in that circumstance so not a big deal. If she had tried to do that to me I'd question it. They have lots of unique treatments geared towards all genders and ages and health goals and I highly recommend checking out their services!

Dr Berlin always seemed pleasant and competent but after your initial visit you never see him except at the surgical center for a couple minutes before your procedure. However his PA is ALWAYS the one you see routinely. First of all, nomatter how severe your pain is they NEVER prescribe anything stronger than Tramadol which gave me very little or no relief. After months of asking this PA for something stronger or nothing at all, she said "OK then, there's no need for you to provide a urine sample". In other words, she was going to give me NOTHING!What kind of Pain Facility doesn't provide you with a Pain medication that treats your pain? That's why you go there. But this wasn't even the worst experience I had there. When I first went there the PA was trying to explain the Stimulator and the Pain Pump as future possibilities. When I asked her how long the battery lasts on the Pain Pump she clearly said, "Ten years. Probably LONGER THAN YOU"! I was so shocked at how unprofessional she was and could not believe what she had said, I was speechless. Of course since I never see Dr Berlin I waited until I was in the surgical center and told him what she said. He was shocked and defended her and said she had worked for him for 16 years and she was always professional, and that he would speak with her. I said, "I know what I heard". I stayed with them a few more months until the PA handed me a brochure basically titled, "Don't worry if injections haven't worked for you, we have another procedure that has good success." Basically this procedure was to cut into your spinal cord area and do some manipulation or something. Immediately I thought to myself I am not going to let these people cut into my spine, and I made an appointment with my orthopedic surgeon who followed up. I should have left that facility immediately after the PA refused to provide medication that helped my pain. And I certainly should have walked out when she said the RUDE statement about the battery lasting longer than me. If you want a Pain Clinic that does not provide Pain Relief, this is your place to go. And if you're lucky, maybe you won't be Degraded by the PA.

I do t think this office has any regard for people's time. I arrived for my appointment early and…read morewaited 30 mins in the waiting room. I approached the front desk and asked what time my appointment was because I had been waiting for 30 mins. When I was told my appt time was 30 mins over due I was told there were still two patients ahead of me. I sat down and waited another 15 mins, I then went and told the desk clerk to annotate my chart as not seen due to doctor availability. They didn't even offer to reschedule my appt. In fact they didn't even care that I would be seen. I am now without a prescription, PT referral and still in pain. Don't think I'll be returning.
