Do NOT book your private event with Oak City Events! We hosted our welcome party at The Avenue and…read moreit was a disaster from start to finish. Alexis made big promises, but completely failed to deliver. Communication was poor throughout the planning process, and I had to chase her for basic details about our bar package--details she clearly didn't even know. The day of the event, no one was there at our scheduled drop-off time, forcing us to leave décor outside unattended. When we arrived to set up, nothing was where we had agreed during our walkthrough. The champagne wall wasn't up, welcome table was missing, and the bar menus Alexis designed weren't out. Then she lied and claimed those signature drinks suddenly weren't included in our package (despite previously confirming they were in writing) and the bar didn't even have the right ingredients for them. Our event started and guests arrived before setup was complete. The staff put champagne in wine and whiskey glasses (when our contract clearly states we'd get champage glasses), our slideshow wasn't playing, and the "complimentary desserts" we were promised never appeared. AND the WORST part- A sober and pregnant guest was served alcohol when she ordered a Shirley Temple! HOW does that even happen?!? That is beyond negligent and dangerous, there is NO excuse!! Alexis blamed me (the bride) for the confusion and chaos, when I was the only one keeping the day on track and her team clearly dropped the ball. She was nowhere to be found when guests arrived, despite promising she'd be there to greet them and hand out drink our tokens. Bottom line: they're disorganized, dishonest, and unprofessional. Save yourself the stress--do not book your event with them!

One of my friends chose to paint a bear instead, and it turned out super cute. Now I want to go back just to make a bear too! I also love that Spin Art keeps your artwork until it dries so you can pick it up later. Just a heads up: we completely missed the tripod sitting in the corner of the splatter room. So if you go, look for the tripod so you can capture all your memories! Such a fun experience...highly recommend!

When we got there, we were greeted and got set up immediately. We were given protective pants that covered your shoes and a protective top that had a hood. There was also glasses, gloves, and hair ties available, so if you're afraid of getting dirty, DONT BE! The spinning itself is very simple and to the point! Mix your colors, place them on the canvas, and spin! The hardest thing is coming up with a cool design, but we were able to get it right with our second canvas. At the end, we had the option of taking our wet canvas to go in a pizza box, using their dryer for an extra charge or leaving it until we were ready to pick up. This was really fun, and I would definitely do it again!

April is so easy to work with and makes sure everything is just perfect, even down to the smallest details. When I told her I was bringing a cake, she told me she had the perfect cake plate that had belonged to her grandmother. It was simply beautiful. We picked the Spring theme and loved how pretty everything was. She even had some games out they could play and a Bluetooth turntable they could use to listen to whatever music they wanted to. April even managed to get a picture of my daughter smiling, which is hard to get from a 15 year old! I would highly recommend Lovestruck Luxury Picnics for your next celebration or any occasion you want to spoil someone special!!!

She's creative and always tries new things to make the experience more fun and full of value. Her craft classes are creative (even though I'm biased to the candle making class! ) and she never stops thinking about ways to elevate the business. Plus, her staff is fantastic. Last nights class with Elaine was great because she's such a good teacher and makes sure that above everything else, people leave happy and satisfied. BYOB parties are always a good time and there's plenty of space for large groups and refreshments. The studio really becomes your home for the night and the vibe is one of a kind! Can't wait to teach and visit again soon!

As I forgot to get a photo when I arrived, the class was full so I couldn't get the layout too well. I will try to get a better shot next time. I'd been to the old location before the pandemic and got excited during the pandemic when to go kits were offered as we couldn't paint in person but could order a kit with canvases and paints and brushes. Then pick them up from the sidewalk. Virtual classes are offered as well so you could paint with friends and relatives all over the country if you wanted. Some classes are being taught outside under a gazebo too. I booked my class a few months out as I am still healing from a shoulder injury and thought I'd be good by July. But I managed to get another injury in the meantime. So I did my best and Bethany made the afternoon fun and was very helpful with how to hold the paintbrush to get the paint stroke desired. If you are looking for a fun activity, this is the place for you!
