Thank you Tokiya! Now this is a colourist. Just got my hair dyed, cut, and treated in that order. Asked for an upside down ombré (lighter on top) with a red ashy brown colour and that's what I got. First time a hair stylist didn't try to make chit chat and just patiently worked on my hair. when I asked for any recommended products he said I didn't need anything special. Clap clap Skill: - No pain (very gentle) it's rare with long damaged hair - Relaxing hair wash - Very meticulous while colouring - Hair dye didn't smell too strong Interior: clean and modern Price: market price for this level of salon Service: gave water, a towel while washing hair, and a locker for your things. Checked on hair as needed. Thanks to all the assistance and boss for helping to complete this look! Good team work.

Final result was brassy and looks nothing like the reference photo.

It's been almost a year since my last salon color service, and I was a bit anxious to get it done since my colour and hair had grown out and looked like a mess. I looked up a few salons to go to that looked like it had good colourists, and after getting a few quotes, this place seemed to be in the middle, so I went in for a consultation and they were able to get me in the soonest. Some of the results posted on Google and Yelp by junior colourists looked ok, so I thought it'd be pretty safe. I showed the stylist what I wanted during the consultation and she did a few strand tests and provided a quote. I told her that my main goals were to blend together my new growth and change my colour to an ash brown (at the time it was silver/purple with my black regrowth about 4-5 inches). I also wanted some highlights to blend in my white hair. I appreciated the time she took and all the questions she asked so I felt comfortable enough to trust her. I don't think what I wanted was extremely difficult and should be achievable with a somewhat experienced colourist. I asked her if we could achieve the results in one day, and she said just one session was fine. I went in to get my hair done a week later, and she spent a fair amount of time weaving out babylights, and I'll admit I have lots of hair, so it takes a lot of time. We bleached the new regrowth, and toned (or dyed?) the previous colour to the ash brown we discussed during the consult. After we were done processing and when the hair was dry, I noticed that there was a 1inch band around my hair where the old and new growth meet so I didn't feel it blended well. I pointed that out to the stylist and she agreed and asked me if I had more time so she can fix it. I was free until dinner time so I agreed to stay. She applied more bleach, but this time weaving some new sections that were not previously bleached. She processed this for a shorter time than before, so after washing it out, it was still at an orangey/red stage. She toned it and told me that it would fade out later on. I was tired after 7 hours in the chair, so I paid and left to meet my parents for dinner. Chinese parents never hesitate to tell you when something is wrong! My mom pointed out right away that the two tone colour looked off. In hind sight, it looked much better before she "fixed" it. I really hoped that it would fade out, but after a couple washes, and reading hair forums, I realized it was never going to blend. I called the salon after 2 weeks and asked if they could fix it. They said they don't do free redos after 1 week but told me to come in anyways to see how much it'll cost to fix it. Even though I was annoyed about this, I figured, if it's cheaper than it is for me to fix it myself, then I might as well get it done by a professional(ish). I went in and asked if she could just remove the brassiness. She said she would have to bleach it all again and couldn't do just small sections like that. She'd have to charge me for it (the amount was probably what people would pay for a whole head of colour). This is unfair, since if she had just left the bleach on long enough, it probably wouldn't have ended up so orangey. I told her I felt that I spent enough on this (the service was $400+ with tip), and I refused to spend more, especially since I was provided a quote to achieve a certain result. Also that I only came in 2 weeks later rather than 1 because I wanted to give it a chance to fade. She felt that it didn't look that bad, so I thought it was useless arguing and I didn't want my hair redone by someone who didn't think there was a problem to so I walked out and decided that I will warn others of this lack of competence and poor customer service. I'll even help advertise what they feel is an acceptable product by their standards!

If you think I am kidding... just refer to this image. There is literally a diagonal slant that is very obvious.

Usually I get my bangs trimmed at this place, however, this time I was so disappointed by the result. My hairstylist ikki made my bangs uneven and thin even though I had specifically asked for thick and straight bangs. When I texted her about it, her reply was "that's why I told you to get the straight perm" (something she was trying to convince me to get for my bangs) which has nothing to do with her results. IF YOU ARE VISITING, DO NOT GO WITH IKKI

My hair was 2 months old, getting streaky and brassy and I started to get bored of it. My friend recommended this place to me, so I decided to check out their Instagram and give it a try. I went in for a consultation and was told it might take me 2 sessions to get me light enough for an ash tone and pastel pink tips. The quote given to me before the 20% off discount (I chose Jeremy because he had a discount and based off his Instagram, his colouring skills looked really professional) was $335. After 20% off it would be $268. I went in after arranging a date and time with Jeremy @jerebearhair through Instagram. It took a while for him to get to me when I arrived on time as he was finishing up with a client but I was fine with that. I sent him the photo of the hair I wanted and he started right away. I arrived for my appt at 2pm and we started at around 2:25pm. He was very kind and accommodating. Excellent customer service... when he went off to get food for his break while waiting for my hair to bleach, he even asked if I wanted anything! When they blow dried my hair, his coworker provided assistance as well which was nice. It took a really long time because he ended up being able to lift my hair light enough in one session, but it took two bleaches. I ended at 8pm (5.5h total). However, when he finished, I wasn't happy with the colour. The blend was excellent, but the main colour was more silvery/grey than I wanted and the pink was more purple than anything. I expressed my concern to him despite his great effort, and he said I could come back for free to get it fixed. The total ended up being $407. This was divided into bleaches, colouring, smart bond, and shampooing/massage. I assumed everything was packaged together despite me not requesting some things so I was fine with that. I did not, however ask for smart bond, which he put in and charged me for anyway ($30). I informed them that I didn't request to get smartbond added and they swiftly took it off my bill. I will update this review when I go back for the colour fix! Definitely recommend and would come again!:) UPDATE: I just got my hair recoloured by Jeremy and it looks fantastic! A little uneven, but exactly what I wanted colour wise:) Since I already went and told him to change my hair completely, I felt bad so I didn't ask him to fix the evenness I'm happy the colours are right! UPDATE 2: I just looked at all the photos side by side and I realized it's my fault that I asked him I wanted exactly what was in the photo because he did exactly that and it just so happened I didn't like it

That was odd because usually the hairstylist would only cover the customers' eyes. It was difficult to breathe. Also, she told me to sit up while she was still drying my hair at the back. Usually, the hairstylist would have wrapped my hair before they told me to sit up. She made me look bad and uncomfortable. I asked for layers and she did not give me a lot of layers. She said she would give me a little bit. That was not professional. The she tried to make my ends curly using the hair dryer and I told her I wanted my ends straight. She did not understand layers; she kept asking if I wanted thinner hair. I said no. She asked me twice if I wanted bands and I say no. Moreover, while she was cutting my hair, she let the hair fall onto my hands which could have been avoided. She did not put on the cape for me - she needed me to hand the other side to her instead of putting it on me. The service was terrible and she was indeed incompetent. Furthermore, when I said the haircut looks good, she kept on cutting. I said, "It's good' several times and she was still cutting my hair. Then she asked my sis, who was sitting beside me, "Is she okay?" I did not know why she said that; she was embarrassing me. When she finally stopped cutting, she looked at me with an anxious look and told me I could go back if there is any problem. She made me look bad with her exaggeration. In addition, she left a lot of the hair on my face after she finished cutting my hair - she only handed me the tissue box when I looked at the mirror and tried to wipe the hair off my face. Moreover, she and another hairstylist were chatting and looked at my sister with a weird gaze. That made her uncomfortable. When I tried to pay, the receptionist showed me a higher price after he knew that I was paying in cash. Why would they charge less if you are paying with credit/debit card? That was not right and he did not explain. Then the receptionist said, "No change? Tips?" after I tipped them. He was insulting. I think they knew that they should not treat customers this way and this was why they charged me $3 less. I was surprised when I saw the price but now I understand.

My hairstylist was Goldie. She brought me to the back to wash my hair but the seat was dirty. So…read moreshe led me to the seat next to it which was wet. Then she wiped the seat for me. Why didn't she simply bring me to the adjacent clean seat? Then she told me she needed to wash my hair twice without telling me why. Usually, the hairstylist would wash my hair once. Sitting there for a prolonged period was uncomfortable. When she wiped my ears with the towel, she harshly wiped off the foundation on my face as well. When she dried my hair with the towel, she pulled down the back of my shirt at great length and I felt my shirt label had flipped over. Moreover, she pulled one strand of hair from one side of my head across my forehead to the other side unnecessarily. This made me uncomfortable indeed. This never happened at any hair salon. I was shocked that she was so crass. Usually, the hairstylist would be gentle to customers. Furthermore, her scissors touched my lips when she was cutting my hair. It was dangerous and unhygienic. So I asked her to give me a facial tissue so I could clean my lips and I told her that her scissors touched my lips. She looked surprised and apologized. Her carelessness was unacceptable. When she held the mirror to show my hair at the back after she finished cutting, she did not show me the full view. Then she said sarcastically, "You can't see? Do you want me to take a photo for you?" Her attitude was atrocious. It was suspicious because she did not show me the length of my hair after she finished cutting. Also, she kept curling my hair using the brush with great effort, and she twisted my hair to form a bun on top of my head. I did not ask for curly or wavy hair (no hairstylist did that to me in the past). Later, I realized that the length of one side of my hair was a little longer than the other side. That was why she did not show me the full view of my hair and she just went straight to blowdrying my hair. That also explained why she curled and twisted my hair because she did not want to cut my hair (she did not want to do her job). I told her to trim a bit more because that was not the style that I wanted (I already showed her the photo of the hairstyle). When I looked at my hair carefully, she made fun of me and said, "Do you want to comb your hair?" and she gave me a comb. Who would treat customers that way? After she trimmed my hair, the hairstyle was still not right. I asked her to give me some layers. I realized that she did not want to give me layers by saying, "You did not really have layers, do you?" when I sat down at the beginning. Instead of saying that, she should ask me if I wanted layers. She said that to discourage me from getting layers. Moreover, she kept telling me to move back and forth when I was seated for both washing my hair and cutting my hair. If she is skillful, she should not need the customer to move constantly. She took a long time to blowdry my hair. I saw that the length was not right. Then she said, "The style is like that because of the blowdrying. Do you want me to blowdry it more?" I asked her to cut a little more and then she said, "I can't really cut it." That just means she was using blowdrying as an excuse for not cutting my hair and to disguise the wrong length; she was deceitful. In addition, she left a lot of hair on my shoes. She only blew them away when my sister noticed that. This could have been avoided if the hairstylist was attentive. Overall, the price just reflects the hair products that they use and the interior design but not the quality of service nor the skill of the hairstylist. She was not professional at all. Their regular customers must be their friends or relatives. P.S. They did not ask us to put our purse into their cabinet which had a key attached. They usually store customer's purse there and let customer keep the key.

I usually don't leave reviews on Yelp, but this has to be done…read more I went to Hive Hair Spa to get my hair bleached and fixed (it was a peachy colour that I wanted to get rid of.) But the end result was completely different than what I had asked for. I specifically wanted my hair to be dyed a blonde balayage, so that I could colour on top of it. But my hair stylist, Sayuri, thought I was joking when I wanted to dye it pink again. The first time my hair was bleached and toned, it turned out to be a dark blue/brown colour after the toner. I wasn't too worried about the blue, since I have toned my hair before with Wella T14 and I knew it would fade. She mentioned that after washing it with purple shampoo for two weeks, my hair would fade to an ash blonde. But after a MONTH of washing my hair WITH non-sulfate free shampoo to strip the colour, my hair was still a light brown, and the blue had faded to a silver. This was definitely not the colour I had asked for. So I called the salon and spoke with the manager, and he was kind enough to offer me a hair fix as a refund. I went back and asked for the exact same thing, thinking that this would fix the issue. But my hair was once again, NOT the colour I had asked for. My hair turned out to be a shade of brown again, and she mentioned that she had added extra toner so that the colour would last longer. But that was not what I had asked for whatsoever. I had agreed to pay for toner since the bleach was on them. But when I was handed the bill, the toner was $90 for long hair. She had not communicated to me the price at all, and I was shocked that she would charge me service on top of the price of the toner, when she had made the mistake on my hair in the first place! Needless to say that after TWO salon visits, my hair was still not the colour that I had asked for despite two bleach sessions. And she mentioned that, "It will lighten to ash blonde, trust me." Btw, that photo was taken a month after my second appointment. What I've learned is that language barrier goes a long way. Her native language is Japanese, and it was hard communicating with her in English, and some of the miscommunication must have happened there. But I am also pretty blown away that she was able to screw up my hair not once, but twice. And still charge me for the toning service she actively did not speak of. Avoid this salon location for hair bleaching at all costs!! And make sure you take into account the language barrier before you carefully select the hair stylist you work with. I had received a coupon in the mail and decided to give it a try. There was a Monday special for a child haircut advertised for $12 and my daughter needed a trim. I called to make an appointment for my daughter on Monday. The lady asked how old my daughter was and I said she was 11, and confirmed the price of the haircut with the coupon. She said my daughter would be charged the child price ($12) and to just bring the coupon in. Upon arriving at the appointment, I told the lady my daughter needed to cut a few inches off. The lady then proceeded to cut my daughter's hair with a razor!!! A razor! Did I mention my daughter has very thick hair? The lady never even used a pair of scissors the entire time! I have never been to a hair salon where they don't use scissors at all to cut long, thick hair. As you can imagine, my daughter's hair ended up being crooked at the back. What was even worse was when you put some of her hair at the front on each side, it was completely lopsided on one side since she has a side part. The lady said it had to be that way since the back was "straight". My daughter has had tons of haircuts with a side part and has never had an issue with it being lopsided at the front. That's probably because the people who cut her hair before all used scissors! I wasn't happy but I didn't bother to tell the lady to fix it as her hair couldn't be fixed using a razor. If she tried to fix it, it would just keep getting shorter and more crooked. So I went to pay and presented my coupon. She asked me how old my daughter was, and when I said 11, said she couldn't use the coupon. I explained when I called I had confirmed the price and her age. The lady didn't budge and charged me $16. I wouldn't have minded not having the coupon honoured if the hair had been cut well, but it wasn't. So I paid, left, and will never ever go to this hair salon again. I'm writing this review to warn others not to go as well...unless you are fine paying for your hair to be cut crooked with a razor. I couldn't leave my daughter's hair looking like that so I went to Great Clips in the same complex and asked them to fix her hair and to make it straight and not lopsided. Guess what? They used scissors and fixed it! So I had to pay for 2 haircuts today, but in the end, thank goodness Great Clips was able to fix my daughter's hair. Lesson learned: NEVER again will I go to Blundell Hair Salon!

Airi was super sweet where she listened to my concerns and preferences, then gave me exactly what I wanted and better. She was patient as I asked her to teach me how to blowdry and style my bangs. She checks with me periodically and updates me on her thought process with the cut. At the salon, they help each other out. It was my first time with two people blowing drying my hair. Whoever is free will sweep the floor to keep a clean environment. They have lockers where they store their customers'belongings and provide a key to ensure the safety of their items. Also, very reasonable pricing for shampoo, haircut, and blowdry. I would definitely love to come back for my next haircut with Airi.

When my hairstylist brought me to the seat to wash my hair, I was surprised to see that there was a…read morelot of hair on the ground and on the step of the seat because they would not cut the hair there. A hair salon should always keep the place clean. It is better for them to use a towel to cover the customer's face when they wash the customer's hair instead of using a small paper because the small paper is useless - it falls off easily. Other hair salons use a small covering. I told the hairstylist that I wanted to have the 'U' shape for my hair but she cut my hair into a 'V' shape. She fixed it but then she flattened out my hair so it was not a curvy 'U' shape. I did not say anything because I knew that she was incompetent. Moreover, she tried to use the hair straightener to curl my hair without asking me first. So I stopped her immediately. The hairstylist should always ask the customer's preference before doing anything to the customer's hair. She did give me layers as I requested, but I noticed that one side was shorter than the other when I got home (it was not easy to see the difference at the hair salon). Also, she did not trim the edge nicely. P.S. My sister, who was sitting beside me, told me that my hairstylist looked annoyed while she was washing and cutting my hair. In addition, the young male blonde hairstylist pushed the small cart close to my sister without saying 'excuse me.' That was rude. Furthermore, he made a hand gesture when he asked me if I wanted to pay with credit card or cash, and he stared at the cash plate when I tried to tip them. By focusing on the money, he downgraded the image of the hair salon.
