Great credit union. Always a friendly face to greet you. No odd charges and haven't had any issues.

Mary Latchaw is an excellent employee of Peoples Bank! She was extremely attentive to our loan…read moreprocess to buy a new home and communicated constantly and immediately anytime we needed to progress in the process. We exchanged hundreds of calls, emails, and documents and she was ALWAYS timely, accurate, and helpful. In addition, she was very encouraging all throughout the process. Getting a home loan is already difficult, but Homeland Security and the Patriot Act made it an agony at times. They want to know every thing you ever did financially, and sometimes I thought it was like having a monster leech sucking my brain dry! Mary made the process so much easier because she communicated constantly and reassured me when I got upset about all the documentation they needed to process the loan! I highly recommend Mary Latchaw for your residential loan needs. She is patient, always respectful, thorough, attentive, and she is a great communicator!

Over the years we have banked here (first as Peoples Bank) including checking, safe deposit box…read morerental, and mortgages (this bank has a terrific mortgage person). Earlier this week, my wife discovered that she no longer had access to their online banking portal. She spent over an hour trying to get it to work including trying to use their new system. She attempted several times to set things up and the system said it sent emails for verification and none were received (yes, she checked Spam and Junk folders). We also had a form that needed signatures in front of a notary. This led to visit to the Monument branch where we encountered some of the worst customer service ever. Long story short, the personal banker was not really helpful at all and we ended up standing in the lobby or at the service desk for over 30 minutes while trying to sign in on their mobile app. This led to a lot of frustration and we finally closed the account and got a cashier's check. The personal banker also got frustrated and took some of that out on my wife, including visiting the branch manager's office twice with the door closed. And insinuating that my wife had sworn at him (this did not happen). We then asked after getting our form notarized and were refused service because "you are no longer a customer of this bank." The behavior of the personal banker was anything but professional and the branch manager met with us in his office and did not even offer us a chair. At that point we left and went to the local Wells Fargo branch where we got professional service and our form was signed and notarized. We will never do any banking or mortgage business at this bank again.

DO NOT BANK HERE I wish there was a way to give zero stars…read more This is the absolute worst place to do business and first 1 star review I've given in a long time. Everything about this branch is miserable. I'm at attempt 77 to call over 4 days. Nothing. I'm keeping track just for fun at this point. I finally drove into town to schedule an appointment. They apologized about the phone and scheduled the appointment. When I showed up for the appoint they looked at me like I had horns and no clue. So they brought someone over, I waited about 15 minutes and they told me account had to be active for "over" 1 year and today was a year and I would have to come back tomorrow. They scheduled the appointment for this specific reason. I'm going to go back tomorrow, I'm going to finish my business, and I'm closing every account I have with Wells Fargo. I'm so frustrusted I'm going to refi my house just so Wells Fargo doesn't get another penny from me. If you're looking for a decent bank in Monument go anywhere else, they have screwed me every time I walk in the door and they seem to enjoy it.

I wouldn't recommend this place at all for any banking. Don't get me wrong. Wells Fargo is a very…read moregood bank and I've been with them for more than three years so far. It's just dislocation in Monument the rudest people you can ever meet. I called twice telling them my credit card got stolen and they connect me to somebody who can help me with that but it never connect me with nobody for three times then they told me if you're close to a Wells Fargo just come in. I come in and they tell me oh I'm sorry we don't have none of our workers here no more at 4 o'clock and proceed to laugh at the situation. Then one of the ladies that works there said something under her breath being very rude and disrespectful..!

Though they have a dedicated drive up window for business, the wait times at the drive through have become unreasonable and so I have begun using their app for depositing checks from the comfort of my home. That may have been their passive-agressive strategy all along though. Make it inconvenient for people to physically come to the bank and push the app. I travel a lot and many Chase Bank's throughout the country are almost all virtual with just one teller. They have automated kiosks in the lobby that make human workers unnecessary. Unfortunately just one more way technology is replacing workers and taking jobs. Beyond that if you own a small business, keep looking. Though they claim to be a friend to small business I have never been able to get so much as a credit card from them let alone any kind of business financing though my successful company is 8 years old and has had annual double digit growth since inception. My business checking account is ridiculous. I have to use my debit card 5 times a month or get charged $12 unless I have a high dollar average amount. Small businesses rarely leave money in an account as it is then doing nothing but sitting there. Therefore I have to play this game of using my debit card 5 times. It's just silly. I have also recently started a new business but bank elsewhere because of their onerous policy. I honestly don't know why I bank here anymore. It used to be for the people but there has been a lot of turnover so maybe it's time to look elsewhere. There are many other banks and credit unions that are far more friendly to business owners.
