I struck gold this weekend though! Gift shop was open and the plant sale was going! This little cottage feel gift shop is a gem to shop! Walking in the front door there is a fireplace to the left to greet you. I was pleasantly surprised to see a huge tree of life wall art piece- one that I have hanging in my dining room! Great focal piece. The front of the store is filled to the brim with glass art, jewelry, wall art and more! As you go through the hallways- more wall art! Dip into various rooms for pottery, glass and wood art. The back room to the right has more traditional State Park items- shits, hats, patches, magnets. The rest of the store is art! I love local art finds, they have plenty of local art! I left with a patch- if you don't know, I am a patch addict & a gorgeous tree of life pendant. As expected- there was plenty of tree themed items!

Near the exit hot sauce, we bought the medium and had it with our catfish fritters and cheesy grits tonight. I still think it has too much vinegar but hubby loves it. Mushroom vendor right outside the bistro had many types of dried mushrooms and fresh Lion's Head. I got some. There were Beanie Baby and jewelry booths, I think there was soap and secret ingredient moisturizer, custom signs, so not all food. If it weren't so hot we would have stayed longer. When they do have it, there's a great diversity of food and craft items to buy. We usually have lunch at one of the restaurants then walk around the market and buy non-perishables. They ordered in some colors that I was interested in, but they didn't tell me that if I didn't like them, that there would be a 10% restocking fee. When I pointed out that they hadn't warned me about this, they weren't very pleasant. They rescinded their offer of a discount because of the size of my order (almost $1,000), even though I did finally get the same pieces in a different color. Later, I ordered a casserole baker ($200). They never called to tell me that it had come in. When I finally went to the store and asked, they gave it to me, and then warned me that it couldn't be put in the oven until it had soaked in water for 20 minutes. Unfortunately, that wouldn't be much use to me, so I returned it. The worst part was their lack of communication. When I pointed out all the misunderstandings, they pretty much ignored my emails and ignored me, though I tried very hard to be polite and professional. I can't believe that any store owner would purposely ignore a customer who had provided that much business! I will not shop at this store again.
