I came into town around 8PM the night before and would have loved to just eat there since it is right beside all of the hotels and the airport, but they are only open 6AM to 3PM.

Many of those diners and cafés are excellent five-star performers, but Chickanellas Scratch Kitchen delivers the best all-around breakfast experience. The décor is a mixture of steak house fancy and a small-town café. Dark wood paneling on the walls, classic antique street lights, high end fancy hand rails at the stairs. Each little booth has its own lamp at the table. Chicken pictures, stuffed toy chickens, chickens on the walls, EAT signs, paddles, carved wooden fish, and fishing lures, balances the steak house ambience with a genuine country welcome feeling. My usual breakfast was perfect. Two bright sunny side eggs. A meat eater's size serving of bacon. A golden flakey buttery biscuit. Freshy made gravy on the side. While getting gas, we were in the marina and he was not responsive to any friendly conversation at all. When we paid for gas, we were asked if we wanted to leave a tip, and politely declined, as this is the job duty of the deckhands - and they did not do anything above and beyond for us and were also slightly rude. Reminder that tips are EARNED, not just given based on a society standard of an automatic 18%-22% tip. No one on the deck of the marina deserved a tip that day. When leaving, the bald man walked out and said we were rude for not tipping, then added "if you cannot afford to pay, you cannot afford to play". We asked for his name, which he walked back inside and ignored us. We asked the other deckhands for his name, and they immaturely giggled and said they didn't know his name. I have been to Cherokee Yacht Club many times over the years, and have never had an interaction like this. It has put such a bad taste in my mouth that I have decided to switch marinas and no longer support this business. I know of several others who have decided to do the same after hearing our latest interaction with this person.
