I took their 1-hour circuit training class & actually enjoyed it! ;P They give you a LOT of options & don't push you to over-do it. The $35 for 5 classes pass is a GREAT way to try it out! They told me that i had yo come in in person to cancel even though i was no longer there. (Also I signed up over the phone with no problem but some how cant cancle). I asked to speak with a manager but conveniently, every time i called they were always meetings. I called 6 times on different days at different times of day and always all managers were "in meetings". Felt like the employees were told to just say that no matter what. I emailed the managers multiple times to cancel as well with no response. Also they will charge you for the next month if you do not cancle 5 days before the end of the month. This corporate chain is exactly whats wrong with the world. Greedy corporations trying to steel money from poor and working class people by making it difficult to end a contract and taking advantage of peoples desperation and already too busy and chaotic lives. They, try to up sell you stuff around every corner. Beware these people are not there to help you. They are there to rob you. Please join a local gym with some heart, integrity, and roots in the community rater than this bottom feeding parasite of a facility. I will be disputing the charges with my credit card company.

I've been working at a computer for 8-10 hours a day, for many years. The first time I saw Emily my issues all practically disappeared. Then of course they came back after a few weeks. This is going to happen if you don't change your habits. I went to see Emily and again my issues were relieved. Emily recommended changes in my posture and yoga poses I could do. She is also a certified yoga teacher! She also was able to explain my issues to me pointing to specific muscles, their connections, specific points of tension and were they arise from, as well as certain psychological and energetic blocks. She helped my get to the root of my problems and to change the underlying causes. I saw her another 2 times about two months apart, and then now I see her every 6-8 months, and my back pain and that tough little ball are gone! I've had a lot of Thai massage including many in Thailand, and I have to say Emily is up their with the best of them. I almost exclusively get Thai massages, because regular oil massages never feel like they are getting to the issues. Thai massage is a true medicinal, and spiritual, practice with a very long tradition. The sessions are normally 2 hours, which some people might think is too long, but once you are in there and you feel Emily hit every single problem spot in your body, time disappears. Be aware that the first massage can be intense and you might feel a little queasy afterwards. A lot of toxins get released from tense muscles as they are relaxed. Drink lots of water!

We work on "what's up" and I always go away feeling lighter, looser, more together. Emily is energy savvy - intuitive and knowing while connecting to your needs. As a practitioner of Thai massage, I can't say enough about her skill set and knowledge. She's studied in Thailand directly with some of the most empowered teachers and it shows. She is constantly learning and bringing more knowledge and care to the mat. Emily is truly the best I've ever experienced in this modality. Whether you're in Santa Fe for a visit or you live here - schedule and appointment with Emily. . . truly it is an act of self love.

I was visiting Santa Fe from Chicago and wanted to get a workout in since it had been a while…read more Trained on 10/17/15. I showed up late and Char, the instructor graciously allowed me to train with the class. The gym is located in an industrial area, with plenty of parking. Typical of many martial arts gyms. Facilities looked nice, had a small lobby, with equipment for sale, changing room with plenty of lockers, and some weight and cardio equipment. There were about 10? Muay Thai bags, a small boxing ring, open mat space, and a small cage. This place looks like it can run grappling, striking, and MMA classes simultaneously. The cardio kickboxing class was well structured, started some intense warm-ups on the bag and transitioned into partner pad work. There was good variety of exercises combined with techniques, then we worked on combos on the bags. The final segment was a battery of workout stations, finished with a cool down. Char ran a solid class, it was a great workout and very enjoyable. As a practioner of BJJ, Boxing, and Muay Thai, I wish I could have tried the classes as well. The facilities look good, and the variety offered here seems great. If you are even remotely interested in trying a class, go for it! You are guaranteed at least a great, free workout.

That being said I go to a lot of different gyms and If I could give this place lower than a one star I would. The "students" are in a lot of danger due to the trainers not having actual talent or knowledge to teach. The place is also filthy, the floor is rarely cleaned, When I left this gym I had scabies on my feet. The customer service was good but the classes are not what you want for your child. And the price is ridiculously high for the quality you get.

He explained to me, articulately and succinctly, not only the movements of the form, but of the optional omission of the stomp, the optional crane stance, and the history of changes in the form. I found this very interesting and it showcased one of the many ways that I am impressed by his knowledge and teaching ability. I am also impressed by his agility, speed and power. I have to work very hard to get the snap of the dobak but he makes it look effortless. I also enjoy very much working with my fellow clasmates. They are a good crowd. Master Meyer maintains a pleasant environnent in which to work. If you enjoy the art of karate, the art of Tang Soo Do, then you will enjoy coming to Tang Soo Do of Santa Fe. See you in the dojang! I am sharing my experiences here so it does not happen to somebody else…read more I came to this Karate in an effort to better myself and pursue something that I have been wanting to do for the past 20 years, but was always reluctant to do so due to the cruel comments of others. I had an introductory lesson with Richard and from the get go he was extremely rude to me and condescending he would talk to me like I was a 5 year old. To make matter worse he shamed me for my body size because I have an unconventional muscular build and he told me that I was too heavyset to pursue competitive karate. What really was the last straw when he told me that I couldn't do karate because I wasn't 120lbs. To put the arbitrary numbers and infantilize somebody just because they have a different body type is appalling, and shouldn't even be permissible. It's cruelty disguised as honesty, and brutality disguised as objective opinion. I am somebody who is no stranger to body shaming so when I addressed to him calmly he started to back pedal and told me "verbatim" " that my body was my business " after the fact he insulted both my physicality and my intelligence. He then tried to bully me into buying a size 5 when I am actually a 4 to add more insult to injury. When people are working out or pursing a sport in a public space it is so important to not body shame, and to remember manners and basic human decency. People are fighting battles everyday and you don't know what they have been through, and unfortunately body shaming is so normalized in our society to the extent it furthers disenfranchies the person who is on the receiving end even further I left the lesson being completely covered head to toe in shame. Not a single person on this earth has a right to judge or mistreat a person just because they are different.

During many instances I was polite yet firm and explicitly told Master Finger that disparaging comments about my body is not something that I can put up with, and at the bare minimum all I asked was to be treated with respect and basic human dignity and my requests would all fall on deaf ears. Apparently it was too much, and his sense of entitlement and superiority to make these disparaging remarks about another human being"s appearance was when I decided enough was enough. The last straw was when he made a rude comment about my thighs telling me "That I had bigger thighs than most" during conducting a demo with myself and another student after he made that comment and I tried to address him politely he once again started dodging accountability. He chalked it up to my height, however I am of average height for a male not exceptionally tall. After addressing how he treats me differently compared to the other students through a letter he once again defended his words. He did nothing to offer to make things right with me. This is not how you treat others who are trying to better themselves. Body diversity is a real thing, and people should not have to justify their existence because they are in a body that challenges societal norms. People should be able to feel free to work out and do fitness classes in a safe space without being on the receiving end of brutality disguised as objective opinions.
