Two weeks later when I called, I was told "I'm just starting work on everything now...". Finally in July, I received a call to come to the office to pick up the documents that were supposed to be mailed out! The only thing done in any expedient manner was the depositing of the cheque given for services rendered. I'm sure that other staff in this office do great work but if you need anything related to real estate and you are concerned about timelines, I would suggest this firm is not the one you want to deal with.

I needed help with filling Form 22 for Supreme court civil law…read more I called Atac law if they will explain to me and show me how to fill out the form properly. I was asked to send them all the paperwork that I was including in the Form 22. For that I was charged $392. When they received my paperwork, I had to pay ANOTHER $392 for them to look at it. I was given one hour appointment. To my horror when I got there, all the pages of my documents were mixed up and the lawyer and I spent the best part of my second hour putting papers in order. I was not given any instructions how to fill Form 22. At the end of my session I was asked to give $2,000 retainer and the lawyer was not able to tell me how much the end cost would be to help me fill out the Form 22. I feel cheated as I did not get 2 hours worth of consultation. How they mixed up all my paperwork I have no idea, and it was obvious that if they did look at it, they could not tell what belong where. I asked for fee for one hour back, and it was refused. I would never ever recommend Atac law to anyone. It is not a matter of $392 that was wasted, it is that my possible lawyer could have done that to a possible client. I have worked with David on prior occasions and have found him to be very helpful and organized. His assistant, Dianne Toth, has also been very good at keeping me up to date with my ICBC file, even though I know ICBC is about as fast at settling claims as the Republican Party is fast at acknowledging climate change. Other lawyers at the firm I have worked with include David Lunny, who has always been stright-shooting and direct, though polite and attentive. He has been good at helping to analyze and settle complex legal matters with a set agreement on fees and adheres well to deadlines. I never want to litigate, but if I have to, Lunny Atmore is at the top of my list of firms to go to in that eventuality.
