The best hot chocolate I have ever tried... the flavor is just right, not too concentrated or diluted.. and I love that you can choose your type of milk. Aignee is a hidden gem located in the quiet area of Forest Hill, right on the corner of Metropolitan Ave and 73rd Road. It's a woman-owned business, founded in 1930, and has been designated a historic business since the summer of 2025. They offer chocolates for all seasons and occasions, along with a monthly chocolate subscription that delivers 1.5 lbs of chocolates to your doorstep, as well as classic caffeinated drinks. Inside, there are four chairs, and outside there's a bench or two. Dogs are not allowed, and you can also order from the window; however, I don't like that the bell makes no sound when rung, nor that there's no register by the window. They also have a rewards program, but it's a bit old-school because it's basically your phone number rather than having the reward link to your credit card, which can be a hassle when ordering from the window because you have to give them your phone number and payment method (credit card or phone if it's Apple Pay, etc.) each time. Also I love how we can sample a piece of chocolate each time we order something. 4.5 stars rounded to 5.

Chocolates make the perfect gift, especially Aigner Chocolates! They've been around for quite some time, and there's a reason why! Their chocolates are so good, plus they are packaged nicely for easy and presentable gifting. We've picked up Labubu chocolates, boxed chocolates, poop chocolates, all uniquely created yet tasty. I also love that there's a cafe, so I can pick up coffee while getting gifts, hitting two birds with one stone.

Delicious chocolates of all kinds made in house. The lady who helped us was so kind and offered us samples so we could make the best decision. They have chocolates made for different holidays depending on the season, as well as classics like almond bark and truffles. You're in for a sweet treat when you stop by!

I can not say enough about this chocolate store. As long as I can remember my mother would bring me in this store for holidays or special occasions. It has always been a precious part of my childhood and now now I create my own memories with my family. I went in last night and the guy and girl working the counter were so nice and sweet and answered our questions about the chocolate hearts that we had. The store was full of valentines chocolates all different prices and all very much thought out. There is a price range for any and everyone that walks in. The second you walk in you can smell the delicious home made chocolates, ice-cream, coffees and treats. I absolutely love this store and it will always be a place I go to for my special moments in life.

I love this little shop! I randomly found it on Google while trying to find a local chocolate shop. You will not be disappointed. The chocolate selections are great, quality is amazing. They even have freshly made milk and dark chocolate ice cream! I had a small scoop today and I don't even like chocolate ice cream! Also the staff is so kind, nice and attentive.

Chocolate is one of the most loved and versatile human inventions. It comes in many forms of liquid (melted, hot chocolate, syrup), solid (bars, bark, fudge, bunnies), amorphous (ice cream) and if you can serve it as a gas to be inhaled, I'm sure Aigner Chocolates will come up with one to be vaped. The smell of chocolate certainly permeates your nostrils and into your clothes as you walk around the store. We came in to check out the store before dinner, me for the Summer of Sandwiches Elite Experience to get my S'mores samplers and my wife to shop. They have chocolate drinks in the front and at least 3 different flavors of chocolate ice cream in the back. The salesperson was extremely helpful and even gave us a couple of samples, milk chocolate for her and white chocolate for me. The Star Wars chocolate figures caught my eye and an R2-D2, along with a couple of Baby Yoda heads came home with us, as well as a few assorted gift boxes for a friend's upcoming birthday. I think I will come back when it gets cooler outside for a steaming cup of hot white chocolate!

No joke, Aigner has been on my list of places to try. Unfortunately, I always arrived too early while shopping at Trader Joe's or too late while meeting friends for dinner at an Italian restaurant on Metropolitan. Finally got a chance to try the famous Australian chocolatier, who has been part of the Forest Hills community. They are a 3 generation family owned business. In a few years, it will be the 100th year anniversary. Wow... It's been around and this is my first time. They accept credit cards (thank goodness!) As soon as I walked in, the employee offered me a sample of milk or dark chocolate sample. The employees were friendly and helped me decide when I could figure out what to choose. I decided on milk chocolate sample. At the same time, I was distracted by the chocolate drinks. Debating between the hazelnut latte or regular hot chocolate. If you have never been here, get the rich hot chocolate as suggested by the employee. She was so right -- I got a milk one. It was rich and thick. Delicious! The store was clean and you can check out each section. There were so many chocolates: gift boxes, truffles, unique shapes, s'mores, ice cream, and drinks. I decided on the barks: peanut butter and cookies and cream so I can share. Go try it and decide for yourself!

This is one of the best and most affordable chocolatiers I've been to! I've been meaning to stop in here for a while and I'm so happy that I did. The smell of delicious chocolate hits you right away and there is so much chocolate in every shape and size throughout the store. I was super excited and couldn't wait to pick out something yummy. The employee was really kind and helpful, and even gave me samples of some chocolate - my favorite was the milk chocolate cat tongue. It was absolutely delicious and melted in my mouth! I ended up buying a block of milk chocolate molded into a violin. It was so creamy and just delectable. Funny enough, I ended up back here after brunch because I dragged my friend along since she had also wanted to visit this spot for some time. We ended up buying some more chocolate, including some chocolate Christmas wreaths that were on sale. This is such an amazing spot for quality chocolate that I highly recommend stopping into if you're looking for delectable chocolate. I plan to stop by here whenever I need a sweet gift, or just some chocolate for myself!

Super impressed with this chocolate shop! I thought I'd tasted the best chocolate covered Oreo before in my life, but the ones from Aigner were a million times better!!! Everything was really fresh and wonderful. They gave us lots of samples, and I love that almost everything comes in either dark chocolate or milk chocolate. I always hesitate to get chocolate gifts when I'm away from home because I don't know how they will do in my luggage on a plane, but the 2 wonderful people working here helped me choose things that would travel well and make great gifts, and sure enough everything arrived with no melting and no damage- yay! Everybody loved their treats of course. I will definitely go back here when I am in this section of Queens again- there are so many wonderful different kinds of ethnic & types of restaurants/shops on this street in the Forest Hills section of Queens- Metropolitan Avenue. Check it out!!

Surely, my eyes are bigger than my stomach (including wallet). I have always been gravitated to old establishments where there is a long history, period atmosphere decor and the charm. It is family owned and operated since year 1925. Schmidt's Confectionery has been on my Yelp bookmarks for what I felt like an eternity. Previously, I have attempted to patronized during the summer, but it is closed for the summer months partly due the heat and humidity which affects working with ingredients and not optimal temperatures. It is easily accessible via MTA NYC Transit elevated J train on Jamaica Avenue at Woodhaven Boulevard station in Woodhaven, Queens, NYC. However, I walked forty (40) minutes from my home to this business. Upon entering the atmosphere has a redolent chocolate aroma with history and tradition which is intoxicating. There are chocolate lollypops, chocolate covered fruit, nuts, truffles, caramels, but I was hoping for chocolate covered strawberries. I abhor caramel. I despise nuts (despite not allergic). I like truffles. I like thin mints, chocolate covered graham crackers and have a predilection for plain solid milk chocolate. It is run by a woman who is the granddaughter of the founder albeit welcoming and helpful. I would surely return again for chocolate lollypops, chocolate money coins. I do hope Schmidt's have chocolate hearts. At first sight, I could not decide since everything was very enticing and alluring too good. I decided cherry cordials. She shown me a mid-size box of approximately twenty (20) pcs priced $30.00, which I asked if there is a smaller box as a option available followed by she asked if I want either dark, milk or white chocolate type. Oh! Someone who finally listens and heed the hope within my mind, WOW! Customer service is attentive and a personalized shopping experience. She gifted the box with mediocre curling ribbons which I have worked in a high-end retail specialty paper store and trained to use either double-sided satin or organza ribbons - never used curling ribbons. She did distributed a sales receipt. There is a scale if customers were to purchase by the pound. Business cards are available for grabs which is now part of my business card collection in a shoe box. Cherry cordials, box of 8 pcs, $10.00 I was completely sold for this small box. I actually taste the handmade and homemade decadence concoction of milk chocolate. It did tasted fresh and too good to give it away as a gift which I ended up consuming entirely! I delightfully enjoyed my cherry cordials with half a glass of white wine. Wooho! The stems from the cherries are visible. This candy store is certainly reminiscent of earlier times frozen in place. At the back middle and along the right side of the wall there's seating for about two dozen people at small cafe tables. They carry an assortment of traditional cakes (full and sliced), pies, cookies, pastries, cheesecakes, cupcakes, ice cream and coffee/tea drinks. A wide variety of flavors in each, so you're bound to find something sweet to satisfy most here. They are a classic bakery so from what I can tell, they don't carry items that are gluten, dairy or nut free. I've purchased their apple pie, fruit tart, berry napoleon, red velvet and chocolate fudge cakes from this or other locations in the past and they're all solid choices for desserts to share with a larger group, though I find a lot of their cake options to be on the richer side. It's absolutely amazing, and the filling is very generous--it feels like heaven in every bite. Another favorite of mine is the chocolate layer cake: rich, velvety smooth chocolate that isn't overly sweet. The only thing I don't agree with is that they do not clearly tell customers that dining in adds an extra $1 charge to each item. Yes, check your receipt. I'm expected to tip my waitstaff and also pay an extra dollar per item just because I chose to dine in. For example, the cupcake is usually $4.75 to go, but they charged me an extra $1 for dining in. Their cake slices are usually $9.50 to go, but I was charged $10.50. I also tipped 20%, so the added charge felt frustrating, especially since there was no clear notice. When I asked the waitstaff about the $1 charge, she said it was entered that way because I dined in. When I later called about it, the manager simply said, "Next time, just order to go if you don't want to be charged extra." That response was disappointing, especially since there was no visible sign explaining this policy, and their dine-in menu does not show separate pricing. I really think management should fix this to avoid misleading customers. Transparency matters. Don't get me wrong--I would still come back because their cakes are amazing, but from now on, I'll always order everything to go.
