I would not recommend working with this firm when closing on a house. A list of reasons why…read more 1. Only spoke to Asaf himself once, when getting ready to go under contract. On this call he was pushy and told me to disregard trying to get a piece of information the seller had said they would provide prior to going under contract (which ended up taking me one phone call to my listing agent to get), as any delay at all was too much of a risk that could cause them to find another buyer. 2. The seller agreed to do certain repairs in a negotiated repair rider. Throughout the process of closing on the house, I asked several times for updates on this. It took several emails each time before the updates were provided 3. The person who was working on our sale disappeared from contact a few days before our "on or about" closing date without informing us. We did not find this out until I called the office the day before the on or about 4. I was told on the phone and by email that the repairs had been done as was specified in the contract. At closing, the attorney from his office who came did not have the receipts from these repairs. I was told they would be provided afterwards. When the receipts were provided, one of the repairs was missing (plumbing work). I called in a plumber and found out it had not been done. I reached out to the seller myself, and they told me it was a miscommunication and they immediately reimbursed me for the repair. I have no idea whether Asaf's office even looked at the receipt before telling me all of the repairs are done or if they just assumed the seller's attorney had checked. As of this review they have not answered my email on the subject, and it has been 5 days.

This firm has no teeth, no fight, and will do absolutely nothing to protect your interests. From the very beginning, they failed to mention that they don't even go to court. Despite the ongoing and obvious issues with my co-owner--my brother--they strung me along for over two years, charging $5,000 upfront, another $9,000 later, and then hitting me with an additional $27,500 at closing without any prior disclosure. All this, and yet no real progress was made. They allowed my brother's lawyer--a local storefront real estate attorney charging only $4,400 over two years--to completely push them around, dictate the terms, and walk all over me. My lawyer had no fight in them to stand up to the other lawyer, protect my interests, or stop me from being taken advantage of. My brother unilaterally evicted tenants, costing me 18 months of rental income, and I made it clear I would not pay for renovations and wanted the property sold as-is. Despite this, Russo Law Group let my brother take full control of the situation while I was left with no say. To make matters worse, after all that time and money, they revealed that they don't handle court cases and would simply pass me off to another firm for legal action. Why wasn't this disclosed upfront? Adding insult to injury, my original lawyer left the firm, and I was reassigned to someone completely unfamiliar with my case. Russo Law Group is toothless, ineffective, and a complete waste of time and money. They failed to protect my rights, allowed the other side to steamroll me, and drained me financially while leaving me worse off than when I started. If you need a lawyer to actually fight for you, avoid this firm at all costs.

Getting answers, having calls returned, and getting clear information about what was happening became an ongoing struggle. What was especially upsetting was that I rely on this attorney to properly handle an important real estate transaction, and I feel that his lack of knowlege and attention to the matter resulted in significant unneccessary costs and stress for me. I should not have had to repeatedly chase down information or question whether things were being handled correctly. The entire process left me feeling that my interests were not being adequately represented. For the amount of money I paid, I expected competent legal guidance, clear communication, and someone who would take responsibility for my transaction.
