The Brew Bus goal: to venture and promote local Wilmington breweries and teach beer drinkers (novice or well learned) the history and flavor profile of the beer staples. They offer open tours for booking online or private tours by pre-booking. The private tours can accommodate up to 14 people and they will customize to your desires. You can also bring your choice of food onto the bus for your party. The pros: -a wide variety of tastings both on the bus and at breweries -- meaning non beer lovers can actually find stuff they enjoy! -funny and knowledgeable tour guides. These guys make being a beer geek look totally freakin awesome -they know the owners of the breweries and their stories which gives you some insight to their brewing process and flavor passions Tips: They don't have food, so eat or bring some snackies! Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to explore Wilmington and discover their beer preferences.

The men behind Port City Brew Bus are capitalizing on the local growing craft beer and bottle shop industry by literally driving consumers to drink locally. This tour is a must for any beer lover. It's the perfect for visiting guests or those who are interested in home brewing. Each stop on the tour offers something unique; prepare to be buzzed and happy. We started the tour at Bombers Beverage. If you haven't checked out this bottle shop you should. The selection and customer service is unmatched. I will never forget the beer bloody marry I had here earlier this year. While at Bombers we tasted a few different types of beer while our tour guide Jeremy gave us a beer lesson. The second stop was Waterline Brewing. Unfortunately this brewery is not yet open to the public therefore we just the outside and talked a bit about their upcoming opening. Nest we traveled to the #BAD (Brooklyn arts district) side of town to visit Fly Trap Brewing. This brewery is unique because they only brew for in house so if you want to try one of their awesome brews you must visit the brewery. One conversation with the owners, Mike and Emily, and you will be a regular for life. After, we ventured toward the center of town to check out Wilmington Home Brew Supply. This business is the only place in town that sells home brew equipment. They have everything to accommodate your home brewing project and if they don't they will get it. New to home-brew? They offer free classes and demonstrations. The last stop on the tour was Broom Tail Brewery. This small brewery is located in an industrial park on the north side of town. They specialize in craft beer with un traditional flavor profiles. I have had their lemon grass ginger whit multiple times at Catch and it is amazing. We were fortunate to arrive during a shrimp boil, which was a wonderful end to an afternoon of beer. The best part about the emerging beer/wine market? It's community based. Some brewery owners are even related and easy it's to find local beer on draft at other breweries even in the same neighborhood. For example Iron Clad carries craft draft from both Front Street Brewery and Broom Tail. This tour is save and simple way to drink local. Great for groups, holiday parties and adventure.

Lots of television shows and movies have been filmed in Southport, and the tour points out quite a few fun facts about where things were filmed, and where the actors stayed/went to eat while in town. We actually passed a waterfront eatery that had active filming going on for a Netflix show. The architecture of the houses in town are incredible, with some having a history dating back over 200 years. You also pass by various parks and the quaint downtown area of Southport. All in all, we enjoyed the tour thoroughly, and felt we wouldn't have enjoyed our visit to Southport nearly as much if we hadn't gone on this wonderful tour. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour to visitors looking to get acquainted with this great waterfront small town.

The tour goes way too fast. The guide never stopped long enough for anyone to take a decent photo. The driver acknowledged he was rushing. 3. The tour guide NEVER STOPS YAPPING. He never provided a minute to take in the city, instead spitting out dozens of unfunny jokes and becoming visibly angry when people did not laugh. 4. The tour makes only a passing acknowledgement of the theater from "I Know What You Did Last Summer", by far the most famous movie filmed in Southport. 5. The timing was misleading: The website and clerk on the phone said the 45 minute tour began at 1:30pm but that we should get there at 1:15 to be careful. Upon arriving at 1:14pm, the driver snapped at me for "holding up the group. I want to leave early". He finished the tour in 37 minutes. 6. Unclear payment structure. The guests were given conflicting information about how and when to pay for the tour. There was no online ticket option.

He constantly was distracted on his phone, and complained of helping me with my luggage. In November 2015, I requested a car to take me to Clemson, SC. Anthony was very helpful, and eventually got back to me with the set price of $506. I had been told Martin would be my driver, as usual, in the Mercedes Sedan I had requested. The day of, I get a call and am told that Martin could not be my driver, and that Anthony was outside. Not in the Mercedes Sedan, but in an SUV. No problem, I can understand things happen. As we are nearing my home in Clemson, SC Anthony informs me that he is lost. I tell him to check the GPS, and then proceeds to tell me that he had put in an address in NC. I told him the correct address, and we proceeded to my home. Not without him questioning every turn, though. We finally reach my home, in under 3.5 hours. I did pay for 8 hours, as it is garage to garage service. So everything is fine, but then Anthony tells me "Joshua, we have to talk about a price readjustment." I respond with "That's fine, we'll talk about this at another time." I had just gotten home, and was greeting my family. Since this was late in the afternoon, I assumed we'd speak the next day. As I wake up, I see a text from Anthony informing me that he is going ahead with charging my card. I immediately call him, and question this. He informs me that the additional charge is $364, but made it seem as if that was within the $506. Because, why would I be charged $364 more? After reviewing my credit card statements I see two charges, one for the original price we had agreed on, the $506, and another $364. I call Anthony to inquire about this misunderstanding, but he tells me that this is not a misunderstanding at all. After asking repeatedly why it would be an additional $364 he comes up with the excuse of the gas mileage. I then point out that it wasn't the car I had even requested. It was clear this conversation wasn't going anywhere, and I told him that I would just handle this with American Express. After a long process, I did get a full refund. There's so much more I could say, but, just don't use this service unless you'd like to get scammed.
