Their products are reasonably priced maybe because this store doesn't get a lot of foot traffic (it's not in a main street), or because they're just cool people - either way, Meta is not huge but it has everything you need including fresh meats, veggies, fruit and fresh bread! There is a deli with cheeses, meats, prepared foods to pick up and bring home. There are sections for wines, juices, other beverages. All the fixings for a meal. Even cleaning products to keep your home clean and tidy. I dash in for beverages, biscotti, fruit, water, everything you might need in a pinch. It almost looks like it took place in a contest of how many or how much one can pack within a small store space; practically loaded to the ceiling with varying goodies and gifts. Their specialties, however, are in the line of fruits and wines, having the best any little shop in Florence has to offer. The lady who runs the place is really pleasant and helpful, guided me to some of their better local wines and made my shopping here a delightful experience.

Hmmmpfff!…read more We stopped here on an impromptu lunch and saw some people eating in the back of what looked like was just a small bodega. Dried pastas, specialty sauces, some olive oil are all on the wall. But if you look closely, people are clearly eating their store-made lunches in the back. Upon closer inspection, this deli/bodega actually has homemade pastas, salads, and meats. We were lucky enough to be inquisitive and had one of the best lunches we've enjoyed on this trip to Italy. We had the special roast beef, cooked rare with layers of flavor and a mild gravy. A gorgonzola-pasta salad accompanied to complete a decadent lunch. Wifey had the roasted chicken, equally delicious, along with another pasta-salad that featured tomatoes, capers and olives - excellent as well. Wines by the glass (plastic cup) are also available. Owner/service was very friendly and helpful - although Italian is a must here. No English spoken.
