They had no record of my call and I had to give the information all over again. Then they called back and said that Medicare is not my 87 year old mother's primary insurance and that her Scott and White Medicare supplement was her primary insurance and she got Medicare through Scott and White. Since they do not have a contract with Scott and White, they would not be able to help me. She was rude about it, too. I called Medi Care Equipment Specialist who processed the order without any difficulties and with Medicare paying for it. Don't waste your time with Physicians Home Medical Equipment.

They have gotten faster about filling prescriptions than they used to be, and have a nice phone system that notifies you when it is ready. My doctor failed to call in a refill, as promised, which put me in a bad situation. The pharmacy immediately called his office, straightened things out, and in 20 minutes I had my meds. Good folks.

I've had occasion throughout my 40 years in healthcare to work with and speak with many, many pharmacies. Pharmacies that assist Long Term Care Facilities as a specialty are few and far between. There are many federal rules and regulations as well as state rules and regulations involved in not only operating a pharmacy but contracting with long-term care facilities. More involved than many pharmacies want to be including one of the regulations that they be available 24 hours a day -seven days a week -365 days a year. So I'm sure you get the picture. Can be very taxing. I've run into many awesome people during my career but I have to say the two young ladies I spoke with at this pharmacy in Bryan, Texas were just on the extreme side of great!!! The staff was very friendly and knowledgable. The guy who helped me spent a lot of time answering questions and helping me be sure I got the best fit- and I ended up with a less expensive boot than I expected (which never happens). They had really good sales at that time, and I ended up coming back the next day to get a new pack. On the following day, I found an equally friendly and knowledgable staff. A friendly staff even after the holidays is the sign of a good shop, I think. Anyway, If you are looking for hiking, camping, or kayaking gear- start here.
