My daughter just got her license Saturday. Very happy with program. A little pricey but very convenient for Reading residents. Picked up at the high school for driving lessons a huge plus. And we got then end result we desired she got her driver's license and we had to deal very little with the registry which was great. This place is unbelievable! We were told over and over again not to come here but we said we'd still try it. Absolutely horrible experience with Agganis Driving School. I would give 0 stars if I could. My daughter was constantly denied driving lessons, and whenever she finally did get one, it was always during the WORST possible driving conditions like heavy rain or snowstorms. It felt completely unfair and unsafe for a new driver trying to learn. When I politely called and asked if she could have lessons during normal conditions so she could actually learn properly, the woman on the phone yelled at me and was beyond rude. Every interaction with this place has been unpleasant. They speak to customers with disrespect and act like you're bothering them for simply asking questions. The lessons are spread out so far apart that my daughter forgot half of what little she was taught. Honestly, they taught her almost nothing. She finished feeling confused, discouraged, and devastated instead of confident behind the wheel. I've also spoken to other families who said they learned nothing from this school either. We spent so much money expecting proper instruction and support, and instead we are now left not knowing what to do next. I would never recommend this driving school to anyone looking for patient, professional instructors who actually care about helping students succeed. DO NOT RECOMMEND! Go elsewhere, you'll be glad you did. I signed my child up for classes two months before they were to begin. We chose a specific location along with specific dates that would accommodate upcoming high school sports obligations. Three days before class one was to begin parents received this email informing them the location they chose was going to be changed. When replying back asking for a phone call or email, instead they decided to do neither an issue a refund. Horrible customer service, not the way a company should run or treat paying customers. Not only did they do this to me, they decided to delay the process of my child receiving his drivers ed education that was paid for. That decision (of issuing refund instead of making a phone call) should have been left up to me as the parent not them as a company. I have also heard horror stories in the last 24 hours of it being impossible to book the one hour driving class. your child will need. read more

Find any other driving school. Agganis has over extended themselves and therefore never have any driving lessons available - you either have to have your child miss school or scramble for last minute cancellations that open up a slot. The staff will gaslight you and deny this is the case but they won't book any appointments for you. My son had about 90 fellow students in a singular two week online class session during the summer - throw in the other online sessions and you can imagine how many students are competing for the same lessons. Also we found the online lessons and required parent class consisted mostly of Chris Agganis talking about his life stories vs covering actual driving rules. Agganis has been great so far - have only done the Drivers Ed Portion with Chris. My son definitely learned a lot and had a great time in the class. I listened in a few times and observed that Chris had established a great rapport with the kids in the class. I would definitely recommend Agganis. read more

I took the parent class and learned so many new things, and I have been driving for over 38 years myself. Never had a problem getting an appointment. They are always on time for the pick-up. My daughter is driving very well and drives to school every morning. Most of all I called many schools before this school and I was horrified at the customer service. one star is too many. I wish I could do zero. they are so horrible and so unresponsive and do not even pretend to be bothered by upset parents trying to get in contact with them. They tell you that they'll respond to email within 24 to 48 hours which is a complete fallacy. There are so many negative reviews, so I thought I would to share the positive experience I had with Agganis. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because we had one bad experience with an instructor, and it really does seem almost impossible to reach anyone on the phone directly at the Reading location. My daughter's first driving lesson was amazing...great instructor that really built up her confidence. It was the exact opposite for her second lesson. I emailed about my concern and Koren spent a long time on the phone with me listening to my concerns and making a plan to move forward. The instructor we worked with from that point on (the one she had for her first lesson) was so positive and helpful. I absolutely plan to have my two younger children go through Agganis when they are old enough. read more

The instructors for the driving lessons were good and helpful. The classroom/online instruction is absolutely horrible and unprofessional. They need to hire someone to teach the parent and student classes. Everyone talks about how miserable it is to listen to this guy but unfortunately it's "pay to play" and as he says multiple times, he inherited the business. In a pinch, I signed my son up for Driver's Ed Class with Agganis. It seemed fine... We took the parent class... He's had his permit now for 3 months and scheduling his driving lessons has been an absolute NIGHTMARE!! They never have any appts available and use a circa 1995 online scheduling system. I email often, and they claim that they will post more appointments, but nope! Keep checking back, they say. I don't have time to keep looking every couple days. We want to book our appointments and be done with it. There's no way to plan ahead. It's incredibly frustrating. I wish I read the reviews before sending them our money! read more

Just the worst experience ever.... they are great at the time of sign up and during the classroom time, but they have NO DRIVING HOURS available. I finally quit and signed up with another school because it will be months and months before my kid would ever get in a car. I signed my daughter up for additional driving lessons with Agganis Driving School after she had a horrific experience with Ringers Auto School in Saugus. My daughter already completed all her hours to take the drivers test but she knew she wasn't prepared to take it. That's when I called Agganis Driving School for additional lessons. We got driving lessons immediately. I didn't have to stalk Twitter account for driving lesson openings like I did with the other Auto School. The driving instructors are professional and patient with their students. After 2 lessons with Agganis, she was ready to take the drivers license exam. Took the parent class. terrible. listened to the guy talk about sexist differences in student drivers, how his siblings inherited the school from his dad, how kids talk smack about their parents during lessons, how unfair the world is, and a lot of marketing info about his company. Not sure what the curriculum was to be, but this is as pay-to-play as you can get. My favorite part was about 30 minutes into the class, guy was still on the second slide talking about his dad and lobbying and newspaper articles or whatever unrelated to my child learning how to drive and he says "Just so you know, I never can get through these classes in less than 2 hours and 20 minutes." Ya don't say. Pro tip - we can talk about how know it all and dumb our kids are, but when it comes from anyone else, it just sounds awful. read more

Very disappointed! The absolute worst scheduling system. Grey area means unavailable time. Well, pretty much the WHOLE schedule for months is greyed out, with the exception of one or two days at 12:30...well my daughter is in school at that time. You call the office for assistance and what you get is rude and unprofessional assistance. You pay a lot for the program and get the great sales pitch; then no road appointments. This school does a great job with the classes - my daughter learned a lot, and the full-day weekend option was a great way to get it done. The big advantage of using a driving school, is that your kid can get a license at 17 rather than 18. And that requires driving lessons. Unfortunately, scheduling the lessons with Agganis is a nightmare. They have an online schedule that is fully booked up thru mid-September as of today (10 weeks out). The only way you can book lessons is to get on a list to receive text messages with open appointment slots. So it's a race to respond to texts to get a lesson for 1 or 2 days hence. No predictability, and it puts real pressure on us, as the lessons must be completed 12 days before the driving test. There's got to be a better way. read more

I regrettably paid for both of my kids at the same time to take lessons here after we moved here from NJ. I barely managed to get my daughter through the program without having to constantly harass them into scheduling driving lessons for her. Now I am trying to get the remaining 6 driving lessons scheduled for my son, and I am getting zero response from them. It does not matter what you do - constant emails and/or phone calls do not help. I have even copied the owner on the emails - he does not care, so don't fall for his speech during the parent class. We have been keeping track of all our attempts to get what we paid for, so now we are forced to seek legal assistance. We will be leaving negative reviews everywhere, putting in a complaint with the BBB, and hiring a lawyer to get our money back. Despite all the bad things I'd heard about Agganis Driving School, I sighed my son up for the classroom lessons in Melrose because I needed him to be able to get there on his own. The classes were scheduled for 5 weekend days in the Melrose office, a few blocks away from where we live. Less than 24 hours from the first class, we get an email stating they have moved all of the classes to Reading, which is 15 minutes away by car. I am furious since the easy accessibility is the ONLY reason we went with them. No one is available by phone on weekends so there was no way to try and reschedule things before the class began. read more

Can we give zero stars? However the road lesson instructors are excellent and I would give them a higher rating. They always came on time. This school is terrible mainly because of the inability to schedule road lessons. I can't believe so many people go there. The websites states they book 2 months in advance but it is practically impossible to find any openings. It even took me 5 phone calls and 1 month to get any texts for available lessons once I signed up. You get priority texts if you sign up for the road lessons but then the lessons get crammed into a two week period 3 weeks before the scheduled road test. All lessons have to be completed by one week prior to the lesson. I've heard scheduling road lessons is also challenging at other places. The good thing is that my 16 3/4 year old passed on her first time in Woburn. It was scheduled with their sister company, Tri-town. read more
