They even have a paintball area! There's also a field of sunflowers but we didn't get to see it. Other than that, I highly recommend going there later in the day to beat the sun. Be prepared for long lines and at least 2 hours to explore the entire farm. My family and I loved hunting for pumpkins which was a highlight of our day. You pay by weight so grab as many or as little pumpkins as you can carry using their tiny wheelbarrows. For the value it's definitely worth it.

This is always a solid county fair…read more Parking is $8 and there is plenty. Once inside the fair there are numerous vendors with food, drinks, and all kinds of merchandise. The weather is usually really good. The fair has three main buildings. Thurber Hall which is loaded with commercial vendors - clothing, candy, pop culture items, Tupperware, gadgets, etc. Always some good deals in there. Pima Hall has more vendors and some entertainment acts as well. This year they had Brad's World of Reptiles with multiple animal displays and Nancy Riegler's Bird Show at the other end. The name of the third building escapes me, but it is where they show off art from locals and schools in the area. They also have 4-H displays, a giant model train display, many active art displays with rocks, model ships, yarn, etc. Great rides and games every year from RCS. Pony rides, camel rides, and a petting zoo. Fun foods with new ones each year. Really good concerts - free with admission. Definitely worth making the trip from Mesa each year. If you are nearby - make the trip.

And on that note, I'd like to apologize for my friend cutting in front of all the parents and kids who were waiting for their turn in the firetruck. He didn't see the line and I was way in the back, wondering where he went! lol I think he cut in line anyway... or else how did he get up there so fast?! This is a fantastic event for an otherwise pretty lackluster downtown Tucson (in terms of events)!…read more If you took a snapshot of Scott & Broadway during a 2nd Saturday, you'd be able to convince anyone that Tucson is an awesome place, and that downtown is quirky, fun, and the place to be! This event is just that good! The entertainment is awesome! Sometimes at events, you have to wonder why certain entertainers were invited because they don't fit with the vibe. This was not the case at the bunch of 2nd Saturdays we've been to. The various entertainment matches the vibe of Tucson perfectly! The music is loud enough so you can hear it from the stage to the eating area, which is great so you can enjoy it while you eat. I love the vendors that line the streets, selling cool, often handmade, items that you don't see in stores every day. Lots of cool stuff to look at and buy, and a lot of it can make great gifts. And I just love that the Pima County Library brings their book truck there sometimes, and they give away free books! It's always a good thing to get books in the hands of the community. The selection of food trucks and vendors at 2nd Saturdays is pretty decent. So good, in fact, that we never eat from just one place. We tend to try as much stuff as our bellies can hold, and we don't regret it one bit because most of the food is really delicious! I'd love to see maybe a couple more places join up, there seems to be room down one of the streets, but that's just me being greedy to try more food. Overall, we really love 2nd Saturdays Downtown, and we will keep planning our 2nd Saturdays around this awesome Tucson event!

This Fiesta started in 2002 when a sinkhole on Grande Avenue closed small businesses down for a few…read moremonths until road repairs were finished. Now it has become a family event and a great tradition for Barrio Hollywood every April. There are tons of food booths, carnival games and rides and live music for dancing. Grande Avenue is closed down between Speedway and Saint Mary's from Friday evening until late Sunday night. For the year 2015, the dates are April 18 & 19th. No admission to enter. Most of the action is right in front of St. Margaret Mary's Catholic church on 801 N Grande Ave. Very family oriented but beer can be bought inside the fences.
