My daughter and I stopped in here for the first time Saturday. We were tired from running around all day and wanted to relax with a nice glass of wine . My mom and I stopped here recently and really enjoyed our time. They had a good red blend that we tried, and we went and sat by the window in some very nice comfortable chairs. They do wine tasting on Friday, I think 4-6 but not sure. Was tired, so really did not check out too much of the wine selection, but a quick look I was impressed. I will be back and bring hubby as they had a good IPA's and Bourbon selection as well. read more

I thought they were a cigar shop. The paltry variety of cigars had to be smoked outside. Not my idea of relaxation. They did have beer & wine. I like beer and wine but wow. It seemed really pricey. The selection was pretty lame. When we walked in nobody greeted us. Truly the worst customer service. They did not have any seating inside. They were having a wine tasting at that time. I have to say it was a massive disappointment. read more

I'm a big fan of this shop, both for the friendly staff, and the excellent selection of craft beers, wines, and cigars. They've got all the usual Ohio standards, and a blend of oddities/weirder stuff that makes it easy to find something for everyone. I see some other reviews mentioning a service issue, which I've never experienced. Everytime I visit, whether it's the owners or a staff member, the service has been great. If you've in the area, or on the hunt for something new, give this place a shot! read more

Aficionados is a great place to find some amazing wine and craft beer. Their prices are reasonable and worth the assortment they offer. The staff is always very kind and normally very helpful. There is also a cigar area where you can buy some craft cigars (if that's the right terminology). This place is great! read more

Let me preface this review by saying I'm not a cigar guy and not a big wine drinker. I enjoy craft beers. While the wine and cigar selection looks pretty good, I can't speak to just how good. The craft beer selection is fairly good here. I personally enjoy sours and they always have several options of sours that I usually have never tried before. Aficionado's also does events like wine tastings pretty frequently which is cool. Overall, it's a good spot to check out at least once and see what you think! read more

This small, independently run shop has an OK selection and a FEW things I haven't seen elsewhere. We stop in occasionally, sometimes buying and most of the time walking out with nothing. The customer service is HORRIBLE. For example, tonight we spent 15 minutes in the store browsing and it was on our way OUT that we were asked if we needed help finding anything...seriously? I would say that is a day late and a dollar short of gaining a sale or a customer...saw a few things we were on the fence about and customer service would have made all the difference. We have given them sufficient chances and we will not got back. We have way too many establishments that want, and work hard to gain loyal customers. There is no sense paying $2-$5 above local market price at this store - you get nothing for it. Wouldn't recommend it and will not go back. read more

Enjoy coming here for my craft beers. There is a large selection and you can create your own six pack. If you're interested in purchasing a case, they will gladly order one for you and call you with a pick up time. I always find Troegs here which is my favorite being from Pennsylvania. There are plenty of wines and cigars as well. read more

Aficionado's is a great place. I bet they have more than 300 different beers in stock. They also have a great wine selection and two huge stand up humidors full of cigars. Kevin is one of the owners and he is a super nice guy. He's always willing to talk craft beer and make a good recommendation. They do wine and beer tasting events all the time and that's been a great way to meet fun people and get turned on to some new beers. This is my go to place for stocking up before a party. read more

Terrible establishment. Not only am I always treated poorly when I'm inside the store, and not only is their selection a bit sub-par for a "craft beer store", but I know this place best for their overpricing and false advertising. Today while in the store, they have a certain beer marked at $7.99 per bottle, with several on the shelf, and a sticker clearly marking them $7.99 each. When bringing one to the checkout the employee (JOSH) rings it up for $9.99. When I explain to him they have a different price advertised and marked in front of the bottle, he says "I dont give a $*#% there's nothing I'm going to do about it." I proceeded to make sure he knew this is an illegal practice in the state of Ohio (obviously anyone is smart enough to understand this fact and then find the decency to sell the bottle for their advertised price), to which he fired back a red-faced, loud, ignorant, argumentative response, and proceeded to bury his face into his laptop. I don't care to bring business to a store that fails to understand the very BASICS of customer service and ethics. And let's be honest, if you name 8 craft beer stores in Columbus, and then rank them in the size and quality of their selection, this one comes in 8th place. It's more of a swanky cigar joint than a beer store. Most grocery stores have a larger and more advanced selection than this place. There are many BETTER, FRIENDLIER, and more LEGIT places in the Columbus area to shop for craft beer. I will be avoiding this store at all costs, and I would suggest you do also. There are lots of other businesses worthy of your time and money, this just is not one of them. read more

very pleasantly surprised with this place. previously "from the vine", but under new ownership. small selection of beer (didn't even investigate the wine on this trip), but a really diverse and quality selection. plus the prices are reasonable. Aficionados is on our way on the several times a year trip back and forth from MI to VA and I'll definitely be stopping there again. Picked up some great stuff I can't get in MI and the person working there was very pleasant and helpful. read more

Great wine selection for a relatively small shop. They have a good selection within our price range ($15 to $40). They turn over stock fairly frequently, so we're often finding something new. Staff are always pleasant and friendly. I look forward to getting in on some of their tastings. read more

All the previous bad customer service reviews couldn't possibly be correct, right? Some people are just hard to please, right? You can be the judge on this one... I went in early on Friday afternoon to pick up a couple of stogies for the weekend. There was a clerk at the cash register and no other patrons. I looked around at the cases for ~5 minutes or so, and clerk never acknowledged my existence let alone my presence. I noticed several boxes had tags that said Kevin's Pick. So I asked Mr Clerk if he was Kevin, or could he answer cigar questions. I know nothing was his response and Kevin is in the back room. I had to ask Mr Clerk to go fetch Kevin, as I had some questions. 15 minutes go by, and I ask again. He said Kevin stated he would be out as soon as he could was the reply from Mr Clerk. So I pull up a few review sites and decide on a multi pack that was not in a locked cabinet. I wanted self serve, so I didn't have to wait. So, I never did see Kevin, and never did ask if his cabinets were humidors or not. Needless to say, I will not be a repeat customer. read more

I am rating this low due to their poor return policy. Rarely do I return a bottle of beer or wine because it is corked or spoiled: perhaps twice in the last 5 years. I recently spent almost $70 on several bottles of expensive craft beers here. One, a Lambic, smelled and tasted like vinegar (It was a fruit flavored Lambic, not a sour which is supposed to taste vinegary). I had given a bottle as a gift to my son, who loves craft beers, but he told me that it was "undrinkable". I returned it to aficionados with the receipt, and the clerk phoned the owner, but was told they "do not take returns on beer or wine". I asked them if this includes bottles that are bad. They said no returns. They do have a half-decent selection of beers and wines here, but beware, once you have bought it ...if it is bad, it's all yours... this is not the case with other wine stores in the area, who are happy to take returns of products that are substandard. read more
