So I was just on the phone with the owner Bob. I have always used 29th Street Storage in the past…read moreand always loved them. Bob was very kind to me the week prior as I was explaining to him that my family and I are going to be moving out of state for family matters (my husband is in the Marines and on active duty). We were going to need a larger unit come January for our move as we would be out of state for possibly 6 to 8 months. He had said (last week) that whenever I was ready, to call and ask for Bob the owner and that he would help us out and that also come January, I shouldn't have any problem finding a larger unit as they have a lot of people moving out. I decided that I was going to at least get started packing our things away for now in a smaller unit until I needed the larger one for our furniture. I called and tried to explain this to Bob, and said I would like to rent one of the 2 5x5 units available for now. He said "Hold on" and I then proceeded to hear him conversing with a lady in the background saying that "she wants to rent a 5x5.....do you not want to deal with her? If you don't want to deal with her than I understand..." After that Bob got back on the phone with me and told me that "based on his notes and his management" (whatever that means) that he would not rent to me and do business with me!!! I was completely confused and tried to find out what was wrong, and he started accusing me in regards to needing him to find me a bigger one in January! WHAT?!! I told him that I wasn't needing the bigger one now and that I wasn't expecting him to find that for me and that when the time came, I could find a bigger one on my own if they didn't have one, but that I was just wanting to rent the 5x5 from them for now. HE BLATANTLY REFUSED TO DO BUSINESS WITH ME!!!! I HAVE LITERALLY NEVER KNOWN A BUSINESS OWNER SUCH AS THIS ONE TO JUST MAKE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS JUST SLAPPED IN THE FACE. NOT ONLY DID THIS COMPLETELY HURT MY FEELINGS, BUT AS A TRAVELING MILITARY FAMILY, HE JUST MADE MY MOVE AND EXPERIENCE OF THIS MOVE THAT WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH JUST THAT MUCH MORE DIFFICULT AND INCONVENIENT FOR US!!! I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN!
