U-Haul Moving & Storage of San Angelo

U-Haul Moving & Storage of San Angelo

(17 reviews)

The workers themselves are great, very nice. However I've had issues with this location, I had…read morerented two U-boxes in August 2024 and it was returned right after I was done using them. U-Haul still tried to charge me for them after the boxes were taken back to this location. I tried reaching out multiple times to have the account closed (the card on file had already expired so they couldn't charge me anymore for something I wasn't using) to which I was told to just wait for them to get around to it. I eventually didn't hear anything so I had assumed they took care of it. I get an email today saying that they couldn't charge me for the boxes. Upper management needs to do better

Wouldn't recommend using the San Angelo location. We got our…read moretruck with less than half a tank in it & only an additional 20 miles (most places have given us an additional 50 miles). When we returned the truck at our drop off location we were charged an additional fee because the guy that gave us the truck for use marked on the form that we had over half a tank when we received it. We only filled it back up to the half a tank before returning it because that's how we had received it. The inside of the truck wasn't clean, the windows were filthy and hard to see out of, the mirrors were covered in dust and hard to use because of it. We had to take time to clean the truck before being able to actually leave town in it.

SecurCare Self Storage

SecurCare Self Storage

It's with great disappointment that I write this extensive review on SecurCare Self Storage. Had…read morethe company chosen customer service over the fine print, I would never have gone through the effort to write this review. However, I feel a sense of responsibility to share my experience with other military personnel and members of the community in order to enact better customer service in the future. I am an active duty member stationed at Goodfellow AFB. Upon PCSing to San Angelo, I leased a fully furnished apartment and I decided to find storage for my belongings. I compared reviews for several local storage companies and decided to rent a unit at SecurCare Self Storage located at 3230 Knickerbocker Rd, San Angelo, TX 76904. The reviews seemed positive, the website promised 24/7 surveillance and good customer service. I reserved the unit over the phone, paid for my first month's rent, and moved into the unit the next day. The woman on the phone asked if I wanted to purchase a lock from the company, but I decided to use the lock I had available to save money. The company lock was more expensive than locks available online. In the first two weeks, I received a phone call from the manager informing my unit was broken into. Someone cut the lock and got into my unit. The company had no video on my unit and no alarm record of anyone breaking into my unit. I was very disturbed by lack of security and oversight. Furthermore, I wasn't the only person who's unit was broken into, unfortunately. The manager told me that she recommended only the round locks because the structure is more difficult to cut through it. She stated break-ins were unusual, especially when units are secured with the round lock. I told her that no one explained to me (over the phone) the difference between the locks. As a customer, I found this very unsettling. The manager did her best to rectify the situation and gave me the recommended lock, which I appreciated. Her effort to correct the issue was the ONLY reason I remained at the complex and was willing to give it a second chance. I trusted her recommendation for the round lock as the best way to secure my property. So we secured the unit and I didn't give it any further thought. the next day. I also asked her for a refund on my payment since I moved my things out. The manager agreed to ask for higher management for the refund. I appreciated her willingness to ask. At that point, I wanted a refund so I could pay for a more secure unit and give my coworker a little money for agreeing to hold my things at his family's inconvenience. I expected the SecurCare higher management to do the right thing and return the money as a gesture of good customer service towards a military member. Despite everything I went through, higher management said they would not return the money--not even as a customer service gesture. This was completely unacceptable. I recognize SecurCare storage contract "fine print" states customers will not receive a refund. Nonetheless, the company should EQUALLY recognize their responsibility to fulfill its mission and promise to military members stated on their website below... -SecurCare claims "24-hour surveillance," yet there was NO VIDEO and NO ALARM INDICATION on TWO BREAK-INs. Whatever they are surveying clearly doesn't add to the security of the customer belongs. Reference: https://securcareselfstorage.com -SecurCare Storage states "we are constantly working to fulfill our mission: to satisfy all of our tenants' storage needs." Yet, they did not serve my need for a secure place to store my belongings and more importantly, did not make the effort (the small gesture) to make things right by refunding the money... even if their policy states otherwise. Reference: https://securcareselfstorage.com/about-us -In regard to active duty personnel, they state the following: "protecting our country is a big job... you [military member s] need a safe place to keep [your items]." They claim to serve active-duty personnel and their need for safe, worry-free storage. This was never provided. Reference: https://securcareselfstorage.com/storage-features/military-storage In summary, while SecurCare storage fine print may state "no refunds," higher management should equally consider the misleading statements on their website. The company did not provide adequate monitoring, good customer service, or commitment to military members. Businesses who genuinely care about their customers would do what's right out of principle, despite fine print.
