Hope Springs Marina

By far the best marina I have been to, I guess that is why we keep our boat here. They have beyond…read morewhat most marinas have along the Potomac River. The clubhouse has a general store with snacks, drinks, beer, wine, and supplies. The lower level has washers and dryers along with full bathrooms with showers and a weight room. The building and docks are well lit and the staff is awesome! The have the boat hotel for people that want to store their boats out of the water and not in a slip which is what we do. The thing that keeps me coming to this marina is the absolute convenience that the staff affords us boaters, since I keep our boat in the "Boatel" I can call down and ask them to put my boat out and they will gas it up if requested. This saves me time and makes for an incredibly enjoyable time on the water. There are dry docks for also cleaning your boat. In all honesty this marina is what probably keeps me living in the area, I have wanted to move out of Stafford but when I tour other marinas I am not impressed with them. Hope Springs has spoiled me in terms of what they do at the marina. Also there is an onsite repair shop called affordable outdoors, they sell boats and repair boats. The also handle my winterization and de-winterization for me and any repairs I might need. It makes it a lot of fun when you can show up and hop In your boat and go! Like I said before this place has spoiled me for life!

DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO OLD REVIEWS - IT HAS CHANGED HERE!!…read more I have been a customer for a few years now and I simply do not understand what is happening with this Marina. The office manager sent me an email today talking about 'not playing games' and threatening to take possession of my boat for an $800 quarterly bill that I simply did not see the email for - maybe get an auto pay service??? Oh wait, you would have to actually invest in your business and provide a SERVICE to your customers.... The next message included a THIRD request for proof of insurance that was in actuality the FIRST request. The same insurance that they have on file with the same policy number for YEARS....so more load on the customer for some unknown reason... If you are deciding between 2 spots - do not go here...there is zero wifi/cell service, and the staff is now rude and entitled. Go to a good place where the store is stocked, bathrooms are clean and they actually upkeep the facility or maybe invest in things to make it easier to have a FUN experience like a real billing system.

I have nothing but praise for the team at Prince William. They are professional and prompt with everything. The boatel experience is the best way to do your boating on the Potomac. The boat is high and dry when you are not using it, but is always in the water, fueled and ready to go when you want it. Boats stored in a boatel retain their resale value because they just do not age! They are not sun damaged, they do not get marine growth, they do not get vandalized... It is the best way to protect your investment. The marina has a great clientel and local yacht club. They have a heated pool for customers and it is open longer than your neighborhood pool - it is a great place to hang out and meet new friends when you can't or don't want to be out on the hook. The restaurant at Prince William is only okay - Honestly though, I have found that all the waterfront restaurants on the Potomac are lacking - between no real winter business and no real weekday business during the season, none of them can retain quality chiefs or wait staff. But you can get a decent burger and fries here - about all you would expect or need after a day on the water. The bar is lively with a full band schedule. It has a regular crowd that can be a bit sketch at times. Lots of nice Harley's in the parking lot next to the BMW's and SUV's if you are into the biker crowd. But it is generally a pleasant mix of people and I've never heard of any problems. Boating is not cheap - looking at some of the reviews, it seems that other reviewers may have had different expectations. PW Marine's service department does have high rates, but they are in the normal range for waterfront repair yards. The quality of their work is OUTSTANDING. You get what you pay for. I'll definitely be back when I'm ready for my next (bigger) boat... Thank you PW Marine for helping with all the great boating memories we have!
