We have had an unfortunate experience as NZ Van Lines have not upheld their contractual…read moreobligations. We've moved from the US to NZ. Nearly all our belongings were already packed from a previous move and we were told numerous times all would be repacked by the movers with their own boxes and packing materials and a detailed list of belongings would be made for customs. Those costs were included in our quote. We had very polite and courteous packers but they repacked very little and used all the boxes we had packed ourselves from our previous move. We were promised professional, boxed packaging of three expensive bikes. (The bikes arrived with only torn, shredded brown packing paper around them.) The day after our things were picked up we received an email saying we needed a detailed list of belongings. Very confusing as we were told they would make that list. When our belongings arrived in NZ we were then told we had to pay $1800 over the agreed upon contractual price in order to receive our things as they had incorrectly assessed the volume. They did two separate video surveys with our belongings already boxed and all together so am unsure how their estimation was so far off. Our belongings arrived about three weeks after our target date- not a problem as I believe it must be very difficult to time things when shipping internationally. When our things arrived at our new home, again we had friendly, courteous movers. But they just dropped our belongings off. The contract states they will unpack items and remove packing materials the day of delivery. That did not happen. I was told to do the unpacking myself and to contact NZ Van Lines when we were done unpacking to have the material and boxes removed. So alright, we unpacked everything ourselves that evening and let them know the packing materials were ready to be removed. That was over a week ago. The garage is unusable due to the massive amounts of packing debris. And they keep telling me they are "working" on getting it removed. It was supposed to be removed the day of delivery per the contract. There is also an entire box of our items that has gone missing and my requests for information on that have not garnered anything past the fact that they agree it is missing. There were several irreparably broken items (all from the few things they boxed up) and I've asked several times about how to file a claim but it's apparent I'm being left to my own devices on that. Please do your homework on this company. If you simply google "NZ Van Lines reviews", you will get so much more than the Trust Pilot reviews they steer you toward. Heck, someone was so dismayed they bought the domain https://www.newzealandvanlines.com (as opposed to the actual website of the company https://nzvanlines.co.nz) to warn people off using them. We certainly wish we had been more careful and we regret having used them.

I contracted NZ Van Lines to move out furniture from Tokoroa to Ohai, Southland. PC went missing,…read morespeakers(Audiophile) were smashed. Drier doesn't heat anymore, two coffee tables smashed, Were supposed to wrap, didn't wrap or protect larger items. Turned up on shifting day like the black power and spent more time smoking and playing gangsta rap then actually working. Drop off was late in day, dropped gear off after three weeks by basically dumping and running. Left truck on road. Unloaders asked me if i was a gamer, funny mums system went missing. Insurance was a joke, a company called TV Cook they used, and refused to pay out on the PC. It's an Omni shambles. They also write themselves out of the goods and carriage act. Basically it's Burgalry and willful damage, you pay them they take your goods, wreck what they don't want and steal what they do, they are the most unproffeswional disgrace in the industry at present and that's the sad thing, as ten years ago we used them and they were brilliant, now they hire thugs and theives, don't care, and treat your prized possesions like trash. If you use this company to move your stupid!

Worst removal company we have ever used. They moved us from Hawkes Bay, stored our goods for 5…read moremonths then shipped it Brisbane. On arrival we had damaged furniture, which the Brisbane team told us was due to incorrect packaging, and we had several missing boxes. After our initial complaint, I never had any feedback that I didn't have to chase for. Eventually to be told that because we didn't take their very expensive insurance it was our problem not theirs. They then told me that after "intensive internal" investigation and checking CCTV - all the items were packed so nothing is missing. Absolutely disgraceful attitude to customers. Basically saying we are lying about boxes being missing. Use this company at your own risk, but you have been warned

What a disorganized and disrespectful experience! The…read moreinitial estimate was WAY off, even though I tried to tell the person we had more things stored off site, he didn't include them. Our sales person blamed me for the estimate being off, and accused me of being deceptive on moving day. She was VERY rude on the phone and in email, telling me I had not been truthful about the amount we planned to ship. One example, "Our guys at the house tell us you are shipping a Christmas tree; this is not on your list and is a very good example of how you have been deceptive." My response: "Indeed we do have a tree; it is 20 centimeters tall and is included in a box marked Christmas decorations; this box is declared. Should we have categorized this differently?" Most of packing and shipping day was spent in ridiculous conversations like this. When our things arrived, EVERY SUIT was full of mold. We were told not to pack or prepare ANYTHING, and apparently taking good care of a client's clothing is throwing it in a box with no further protection. We've had to throw away many things, and have spent nearly $500 on cleaning supplies and dry cleaning to try and save some items. We were told our purchase of MOLD AND MILDEW insurance applies only to individual items we had insured, and was not a mold and mildew policy for the shipment (not what we were told at the time of purchase, or we would have done something different.) Upon writing to customer service, our request has gone into a black hole. The insurance claims were rejected multiple times, but as I believe Crown did not approach a level of 'duty of care', and as well displayed a lack of courtesy, negligence, causation and loss to our goods, something more should have been done. Avoid Crown.
