Be prepared for a long story, but know it's because I have good reasoning to love and appreciate…read moreCedar View Dental. From my first dental appointment as a toddler through my teens and early twenties, I had the same dentist and orthodontist, Dr. Robison. His staff remained basically the same in twenty years, and they were always warm and friendly. They treated me and my family like their family. When Dr. Robison had to stop practicing, I was devastated. In the few cases I had to visit other dentists, whether it had to do with cost or insurance, it was never a good experience. My family soon realized paying more money to stay with Dr. Robison was worth it. So out of fear of bad experiences, it took me a few years after he stopped practicing before I came around to finding a new one. Unfortunately, my first dentist recommendation turned out to be awful. It took me just three visits, one of which included two botched impressions (having that stuff slide down your throat is not pleasant!), and having one of the fillings they gave me break off, that I decided I needed to stop giving them any more money. I had read good reviews about Cedar View Dental and Dr. Perkyl in the past, but my employer at the time didn't provide the right insurance. This time I had new insurance that was accepted there, so I decided to call them to get my tooth re-filled. When I arrived, I found out that Dr. Perkyl was retiring and that Dr. Jonnes would be my provider. I hadn't heard anything about Dr. Jonnes up until that point, so I was nervous, but I went through the appointment anyway. Though my first experience with Cedar View Dental was getting a cavity re-filled, it was still pleasant. It prompted me to schedule my first cleaning, and then the rest of the care I needed after. I had to visit Cedar View Dental 8 months out of the last 12, but it wasn't so bad knowing I was being taken care of the right way and I was always comfortable. My teeth are finally getting back in shape and I have Dr. Jonnes and the staff to thank. Gina is my hygienist and she's AMAZING, with a ton of knowledge. She is gentle with my teeth and so friendly. The dental assistants Holly and Christy are both just as gentle and caring. When the other cavity done by that awful dentist fell out most recently, they got me in right away and Chantha (who is also wonderful!) helped me out. I just can't say enough good things about them all. I feel like a human being rather than another mouth to tear apart. They also always offer encouraging words while you're stuck in the chair and check in with you consistently to make sure you're doing alright. And even though I originally was nervous to have a younger and newer dentist, Dr. Jonnes is awesome and does great work. Everyone seems to have a bit of perfectionist in them and I'm not complaining. From the moment I step in and I'm greeted by Selena and Laura, to setting up with Gina and being seen by Dr. Jonnes, I get the same feeling of warmth, friendliness, and comfort that I had with my dentist growing up, and that's worth everything to me. I tell anyone I can that they should be coming here, including my parents who are stuck with a sub-par dentist. I know once they make the leap they'll wonder what they were doing with their old provider. Thanks for everything, Cedar View!

WARNING! GENTLE DENTAL - LACEY, WA. DO NOT GO HERE!…read more UNETHICAL PRACTICES, TERRIBLE DENTAL WORK, QUESTIONABLE CASH PAYMENTS, NO TREATMENT PLAN, AND OVER 90 DAYS WAITING FOR A PROMISED REFUND! I cannot warn people strongly enough about my experience with Gentle Dental in Lacey. What I have experienced at this office is absolutely unacceptable, and I would NEVER recommend trusting them with your dental care. QUESTIONABLE CASH PAYMENTS AND MISSING RECEIPTS The previous office manager repeatedly scheduled my appointments toward the end of the day. When it came time to pay my copay, she would tell me she couldn't accept my debit card and that I needed to pay CASH. I would go next door, withdraw cash, and return to pay her. EVERY TIME I asked for a receipt, I was told the payment would be credited to my account and I would receive an email. I NEVER received those receipts! Then, at another appointment, after I had already checked in, I was called back to the counter and told I had an outstanding balance! I was SHOCKED! I explained that I NEVER left an appointment without paying and asked them to speak with the previous manager. I was told she no longer worked there. I requested a complete printout showing the charges and payments so I could verify that ALL my cash payments had been properly credited. I NEVER received that printout, and strangely, the outstanding balance was NEVER mentioned again! I have serious concerns about how my payments were handled and accounted for. NEVER ONCE PROVIDED A TREATMENT PLAN! Despite repeatedly asking, I was NEVER provided a written treatment plan! Anyone who has had extensive dental work knows how important it is to have documentation explaining the proposed procedures, costs, and treatment expectations. I should not have had to repeatedly ask for something so basic! TERRIBLE DENTAL WORK AND THE WRONG PARTIAL DENTURE I was supposed to receive a flipper, but instead I was given a partial denture containing metal. This was NOT what I understood I was getting! I also had a bridge break, adding to an already horrible experience. Now I am facing an oral surgery estimate of OVER $3,000! Patients should be able to trust that the dental work being performed is what they agreed to and that the work will be done properly. CHANGING DENTISTS, UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR, AND THREATS Throughout this ordeal, I dealt with changing dentists and extremely upsetting interactions. At one point, a dentist YELLED at me, refused to address my concerns, and the situation escalated to the point that police were threatened! Imagine being a patient trying to get answers about your dental care and being treated this way! OVER 90 DAYS WAITING FOR A PROMISED REFUND! After everything I have experienced, I was promised a refund. More than 90 DAYS later, I was STILL waiting! How is that acceptable? Patients are expected to pay immediately, yet when the office owes a patient money, apparently waiting months is considered acceptable. MY WARNING TO ANYONE CONSIDERING THIS OFFICE: PLEASE protect yourself! Get EVERYTHING in writing. Demand an itemized treatment plan BEFORE agreeing to any procedures. Get receipts for EVERY payment, especially cash. Verify what dental work you are actually receiving, and do not rely on verbal promises. This experience has cost me money, time, unnecessary stress, and confidence in the dental care I received. I would NEVER recommend Gentle Dental in Lacey, Washington. Patients deserve honesty, transparency, professional treatment, and accountability. Based on my experience, I received NONE of those things! BEWARE!

The dentist told me my tooth was not savable unless i wanted to spend about 4,000 worth in surgery they had to do. She then recommended i just get the tooth pulled. I felt so defeated because i had a feeling it just needed a crown. They charged me $65 to look at 1 tooth! They didn't even put a temporary filling inside that only takes 5 mins to do. She just sent me on my way to the front and told me to make an appointment to get the tooth pulled asap. I waited til i was back in CA to go with an honest dentist and they told me it's savable and all it needs is a crown. No surgeries just a crown like i had thought. She did not seem to care about my concerns or anything. I will never ever come back here

I'm very glad I found it! One example of the excellent service you will receive here: I chipped my tooth last week and called their voicemail at 11pm. By 9am the next day, I'd received a call back that the office was on vacation but could see me the first day they were back at a time convenient for me. When I arrive, everyone is friendly and knows who I am, Dr. Son makes my tooth more comfortable, takes photos so I can see the damage, and explains what I need to do next. Since my insurance situation is changing, he says he doesn't want me to end up with a big bill, so we should wait until we have an estimate and are on the same page. He doesn't charge me for the 45 minutes of his time and patient advice, and I leave with peace of mind. Great dentist.

Would 100% recommend to anyone who is looking for a new dentist! The facility is super clean as well and is located next to Lumi Dessert Cafe. Sophie who manages the front office was very helpful and followed up with me after I made the appointment through Zocdoc to confirm my insurance information and communicated with them the benefits that I would be able to use at their office. The office is very clean and easy to find, and everything is very aesthetic including the smiley guy in the H of Hope dental. I came in for my appointment on time and was helped right away and did not have to wait to begin needed exams for the checkup. They play music of your choice and it is a good overall atmosphere. Once the X-rays were completed, the doctor showed the X-rays on a monitor in front of the patient chair so you can clearly see an enlarged image that he can zoom in to different parts of your teeth to identify any issues, which I did not have any because I brush and floss every day. :) I recently moved back to Seattle and I needed to find a new dentist. Safe to say I am glad I came to Hope Dental and I look forward to coming back for my next visit at the end of the year. I highly recommend this practice for its professionalism and great attitude.
