From my first dental appointment as a toddler through my teens and early twenties, I had the same dentist and orthodontist, Dr. Robison. His staff remained basically the same in twenty years, and they were always warm and friendly. They treated me and my family like their family. When Dr. Robison had to stop practicing, I was devastated. In the few cases I had to visit other dentists, whether it had to do with cost or insurance, it was never a good experience. My family soon realized paying more money to stay with Dr. Robison was worth it. So out of fear of bad experiences, it took me a few years after he stopped practicing before I came around to finding a new one. Unfortunately, my first dentist recommendation turned out to be awful. It took me just three visits, one of which included two botched impressions (having that stuff slide down your throat is not pleasant!), and having one of the fillings they gave me break off, that I decided I needed to stop giving them any more money. I had read good reviews about Cedar View Dental and Dr. Perkyl in the past, but my employer at the time didn't provide the right insurance. This time I had new insurance that was accepted there, so I decided to call them to get my tooth re-filled. When I arrived, I found out that Dr. Perkyl was retiring and that Dr. Jonnes would be my provider. I hadn't heard anything about Dr. Jonnes up until that point, so I was nervous, but I went through the appointment anyway. Though my first experience with Cedar View Dental was getting a cavity re-filled, it was still pleasant. It prompted me to schedule my first cleaning, and then the rest of the care I needed after. I had to visit Cedar View Dental 8 months out of the last 12, but it wasn't so bad knowing I was being taken care of the right way and I was always comfortable. My teeth are finally getting back in shape and I have Dr. Jonnes and the staff to thank. Gina is my hygienist and she's AMAZING, with a ton of knowledge. She is gentle with my teeth and so friendly. The dental assistants Holly and Christy are both just as gentle and caring. When the other cavity done by that awful dentist fell out most recently, they got me in right away and Chantha (who is also wonderful!) helped me out. I just can't say enough good things about them all. I feel like a human being rather than another mouth to tear apart. They also always offer encouraging words while you're stuck in the chair and check in with you consistently to make sure you're doing alright. And even though I originally was nervous to have a younger and newer dentist, Dr. Jonnes is awesome and does great work. Everyone seems to have a bit of perfectionist in them and I'm not complaining. From the moment I step in and I'm greeted by Selena and Laura, to setting up with Gina and being seen by Dr. Jonnes, I get the same feeling of warmth, friendliness, and comfort that I had with my dentist growing up, and that's worth everything to me. I tell anyone I can that they should be coming here, including my parents who are stuck with a sub-par dentist. I know once they make the leap they'll wonder what they were doing with their old provider. Thanks for everything, Cedar View!

What touched me most was how much he valued my experience and put my feelings first. I'm a sensitive patient, and lying flat during treatment made it hard for me to breathe. He patiently kept adjusting the chair for me, adjusting the instruments in my mouth, and even adapting the way he worked, again and again, until I was truly comfortable. I'm not a dental professional, but his expertise is something you can feel completely as a patient. This office is clean, Gaylen has assisted helpfully at front desk thus far, scheduling is easy, and the actual procedure was prompt. The five stars goes to the teamwork of Suha and Dr. Shin. Providing a review to specifically emphasize how impressed I was with their teamwork. As a patient, I really appreciate having a pair of people who easily work together, and provide comfort to the experience. Suha naturally is a comforting person, and Dr Shin appears to know his stuff, and quickly execute. Although my case seems particularly hard to reach, they ensured me all was good for the future, and the office will see me in 8 ish months to ensure all is looking good. Walked in, had all my X-ray's, etc done and was told I needed a root canal & would I like to do it now as it will take about 1 hr. Amazing!!! Anyone who's needed a root canal knows it's better to take care of it now than later. The office took care of all the necessary insurance stuff and I was out in about an hour. The oral surgeon called me into his office after my review to question me about my review and to communicate that the policy told us originally at the front desk of requiring a car be waiting on site during the procedure was not accurate. He eventually apologized for the service experienced from the front desk person. They do not require a car to be waiting on site. This is a policy clarification that made it much more accessible for those with disabilities or older patients reliant on outside transportation services or who no longer drive themselves. If we hadn't had the experience of poor communication/service pre-op, it would have been a 5 star for the op itself and post op. The op quality itself and the post op care was what saved this rating.
