As a criminal investigator of over 11 years, I work regularly with criminal and civil attorneys. I…read moreretained Sara on February 16, 2026 and returned all the required documents. On this day, she sent me a total of two emails; the first stating I did not attach payment, and the second email was her acknowledging her mistake and that I did in fact attach the payment documentation. Over ten days go by without word from Sara, so I followed up on February 26, 2026. She did respond same day saying she will start drafting the initial filing. She then provided approximately 1 hour later with the initial filing documents with 4 follow up questions that were already addressed in my initial documents I submitted. I did give her the benefit of the doubt and thought perhaps I forgot to include the information, but when I returned to look at my initial draft, the questions she had were, in fact, already answered. Mind you, as a divorce attorney, at no point did we have a conversation where she walked me through the divorce process and what to expect. She explained she did not communicate with me because she was out of town, and that she thought she told me. I reviewed my emails and texts, and there was no reference to being out of town. Other than our initial consult in January 2026, all of our communication had been over email. At this point, Sara's communication was not prompt nor clear and she lacked attention to detail. She even mis-wrote my name. At this point, I decided she was not the right fit after poor communication and mistakes in her work. I value accuracy and am used to working with attorneys with extreme attention to detail, so this was an unusual experience for me personally. She sent me an invoice for $980. First, she charged me a total of $495 on February 16, 2026 for sending me two emails, the first being that I didn't pay, and then the second email was her acknowledging I did pay. On February 18, she charged me $70 for her downloading the files I sent her. On February 26, 2026, she charged me $210 for emailing me the initial draft that took over 10 days riddled with mistakes. On March 1, 2026, she charged me $105 to finalize the invoice. I have since retained a different attorney, who has been wonderful and prompt with their communication. They laid out the process, and have since had no mistakes in their work.

Grifan is engaging and tenacious, detail oriented, and her subject matter expertise is terrific. And, for me, of tremendous importance is that Grifan has a brilliant sense of humor, coupled with true empathy - a rare combination of that whole "human" thing that is so important and so frequently kicked to the curb by lawyers. It's front and center with Grifan. So yes, of course, Grifan is MY lawyer too.

My first complaint was that Ms Saxion wrote in the divorce decree that "my husband can take over the debt he accumulated while we where married". It's been 4 years but hard to forget this difficult time in my life that she added to. Also Ms. Saxion did not show up to one of my scheduled court dates. Like I said my divorce was relatively easy compared to some, but Ms Saxion made it difficult and more stressful than it should have been. I cannot recommend this family attorney.

Team lacks the ability to attend to details…read more We actually really enjoyed talking to Harkiran, She's great. However, her team lacks the ability to attend to details. First, when we got the draft back for our wills, the legal names were not matching across documents. Seems like a basic check for the paralegals. To Harkiran's credit, she asked for our feedback and we gave her that. It's nice when they do ask for feedback. Fast forward to the e-signing day. We had to have our documents amended and rescheduled and again, very grateful that they could accommodate for that. But we never received the final documents until I had to email them. I ended up receiving these documents from the notary (since they didn't respond until half hour before the actual signing). Again, probably not Harkiran's fault, but this is another indication that her team is not functioning well. I'd give the law firm 1 star because it's hard to trust a law firm that can't get the simple things right. The 2nd star is purely because Harkiran is a very nice person.

Without going into all the details, Sara and the team put in a lot of work, and Sara put up a very strong fight in the courts. She and her team never gave up on me. And there was never a point where they said, "just give up". Many throughout the challenge even on the other side thought I should have won just in principle. But the department wasn't going to give in. They brought out all the big guns to beat my case - a complicated case they were not willing to cede. And even in light of a difficult case (where others would not take the case), WLC and Sara did - all the way to the Supreme Court. That means there was definitely something to fight for, and Sara fought for it. Yes, we lost. That's unfortunate for such a long fight for me then Sara. But I don't think anyone else would have done any better - especially since others wouldn't even touch it - even though they agreed that I had a strong case. WLC took the challenge on! Five Stars for Sara and WLC!
