We used Mallard to install a new roof in 2021 and as the GC to help us with various repairs after a…read morebad hailstorm. The roof was done quickly but it took almost a year to get new windows. The roof cost $37,500, with the other work, it came out to $47,500. Fast forward to 2025. After some strong winds of ~60mph, many of our expensive Class 4 impact resistant shingles came off. We promptly contacted Mallard. Since the shingles were rated for a minimum of 110 mph and this occurred less than 4 years after installation, there was clearly an issue with either the shingles or the installation. We had a lifetime shingle warranty and a 10-year warranty from Mallard. We had to look all of this up; Mallard did not provide any information and wanted to just invoice us. After we asked about the shingle warranty, Mallard took off more shingles to send to the roofing manufacturer as part of a warranty claim. They said that if the claim was rejected, Mallard would repair the roof at its expense. Or so we thought. Weeks later, after emails and texts, we find out they never submitted the warranty. They needed some more information from us, but never told us. They still have not been by to obtain the last signature needed. They also retracted the statement about repairing the roof at their expense. And frankly, given this whole debacle, I would bet on installation error and not manufacturing error. So now, after their "help," we are even worse off. It is a month after the shingles blew off, in the middle of storm season, with Mallard causing even more damage (given their additional shingle removal), no warranty claim submitted, next to no communication, and zero effort on Mallard's part to make this situation right. We have tried and tried to communicate with them, through phone calls and texts and emails, to no avail. Anyone who is reading this: be warned. They will take your money and talk a good talk, but when it comes down to standing behind their work? Well, they don't.

Sentry was a company I had heard of but never had any business with so I wasn't sure what to expect because I knew they'd be busy, as we were obviously not the only people affected by the storm. Not to mention, I live about an hour from Norman where they're based out of. Blake answered the phone and surely heard the desperation in my voice (can't sell a tornado damaged home!). He had one of his foreman at my house THAT DAY to assess the damage and estimate what it would take to repair. Very quick and very responsive. Here's where Blake separated himself from the other contractors I spoke with... after insurance had their inspector come out they tried skimping out on us big time. I was given a laughable report! 40 shingles, 12 sq ft of siding, yada yada.. I'm no roofing expert but from the ground with the naked eye I knew that wasn't accurate. Blake was completely honest and transparent from the get go. He assured me I needed a complete roof replacement (which I had already thought myself) and that there was much more damage that needed addressing. A thorough professional in my eyes. He took it upon himself to help deal with the insurance company and get another inspection done with his guidance. Following the tornado of May 6, 2015, and subsequent extreme hail damage 2 days later, I was in need of a new roof (among many other items). I contacted David Fries Roofing, and was put in touch with Michael. My roof wasn't an emergency; there were many people in Norman with leaks or worse that were in far greater need than I was of a new roof. So, I elected to wait a few weeks to have my roof done. When it was time, Michael emailed me (I didn't have to bother him or remind me) to set up the work. The guys were out there in 2 days, and they didn't come at the crack of dawn, which I greatly appreciated. They were there for 2 days, and were very thorough cleaning up after they left. Additionally, when the lawn was mowed, they asked that I contact them so they could come and look for additional nails they may have missed during the clean up. The roof looks fantastic. Finally, they came within the quoted price. David Fries has been in business in Norman for many years now, and although this is only my first experience with him and his employees, I can understand why. Hopefully you're never in need of roof repairs or an entirely new roof, but if you are, I can't imagine a better experience than what I had with David Fries Roofing. Very highly recommended.

I gave Okc roofers a call pretty late in the afternoon and Joe was able to come out the very next morning. Out of the three roofers, I had come out to give me an estimate. I think Joe did the most comprehensive and detailed inspection of the existing roof, including getting into the attic which the other two roofers did not do. After the initial inspection, Joe was able to quickly work up a number of estimates and give me numerous different options cost and benefits to each. He really took his time explaining the differences and benefits, especially considering Oklahoma's sometimes very enthusiastic weather. Due to the age of the roof and my personal preference. I decided to not go through the insurance even with the expertise Okc Roofers has with working with the insurance companies. Thankfully, after getting three estimates, Joe was able to work up a very competitive price for the roof replacement to go along with the exceptional long lasting warranty. If all that wasn't enough, even after the contract was signed I had a number of questions and concerns leading up to the job.
