Our stay at A Durmi was one of our most enjoyable on our trip to Italy…read more
It was reasonably priced and a wonderful, relaxing retreat in the historic old part of Levanto. Restaurants, groceries, and coffee shops were all a short walk away.
First, one of the sisters picked us up at the train station so we didn't have to lug our luggage downhill and into town. After a long day of travel it was much appreciated.
Second, when we arrived, the other sister, Chiara - who seems to run the place - greeted us and got us checked in, and then proceeded to provide so much wonderful information for us as visitors. She helped us figure out some hikes, and what to do on the first day which would be rainy and stormy, and she recommended a ton of great restaurants. In short, she was so friendly and welcoming that we immediately felt at home.
Our room was basically furnished but clean and comfortable and spacious. One of the nicer bathrooms of our trip. The room opened onto a beautiful garden courtyard where we enjoyed relaxing outside for the afternoon.
If you're visiting the Cinque Terres, which are one short train stop south of Levanto, I highly recommend staying at the spacious and relaxing A Durmi instead of in the crowded and over-touristed Cinque Terres towns.
