The staff are really lively (and very nice) and the hotel is quite well positioned to get to anywhere in Levanto and only a short 7-8 minute walk to the head of the hiking trail to get to Monterosso and the rest of the cinque Terrà ) though I personally recommended the train as it's a 3 hour hike one way!!! The Oasi is actually on a quiet sidestreet but there's an alley that will feed you right onto one of the main thoroughfares in Levanto. We loved the open patios that each room opened up onto ( ground floor) they were great to sit a people watch or party with your neighbors. If you need to be shit in they ubiquitous Italian shutters will keep you safe and dark for sure. They have a great breakfast where you can even custom order dishes and in the room fridge there is even private hotel label beer!! It's also available at the desk/bar and it's really good!!! Bottom line is whenever I'm in Levanto I'm staying at the Oasi!!

Casa Orietta was a lovely and reasonably priced place of lodging located just a few moments' walk…read morefrom the village centre of Corniglia. It's a sweat-inducing climb up the winding steps from the Corniglia rail station, or a brief bus ride up (free, if you bear a Cinque Terre tourism card). This one-bedroom flat offers sweeping views of the Mediterranean, along with glimpses of one of the western Cinque Terre villages off in the distance. The living room is the perfect spot to cosy up with that special someone over a cheese plate and bottle of wine (from the one general store in town) to watch a quiet, peaceful sunset. Corniglia as a village was charming in itself - by the end of our brief stay there, we'd pretty much gotten to know all of the employees/proprietors of the local shops by face. There's a sole convenience store, selling outrageously-priced basic products like soap and sunscreen, a few adorable cafés, and a handful of proper restaurants. Expect to spend your exploratory time in the other four villages; having the peace and respite from the hordes of tourists to come back to made Corniglia worth the inconveniences. My beef with Casa Orietta was the hassle of checking out and paying for our stay. Per various websites and some previously written communications with the eponymous owner of the establishment, credit cards were accepted. Unfortunately, that was not the case for us, and no intelligible reason was offered as to why. My unconfirmed suspicion was that Orietta, who's seemingly quite the matron about town, simply preferred cash payment. Good thing there's one ATM down by the village square - had it been out of order or lacking sufficient funds, we'd have been out of luck. For a place to stay in Cinque Terre that's a little off the beaten path, this served as perfectly suitable housing. It's a great way to obtain some local flavour and to escape the masses, while (literally) being in the middle of the chain of villages. Just beware that you may end up having to shell out some more cold hard cash than you expected.

They also manage the shop downstairs. From the moment we arrived, they were so helpful. Maurizio gave us great dining suggestions too. Federica was also super helpful sending us a note ahead of time with a bunch of suggestions. The room was clean and had everything we needed. There was an adorable common area too where we would get fresh pasties and coffee in the morning. One night they surprised us with champagne in our room to celebrate our honeymoon! We were so grateful. Overall, this place is such a gem. I would totally recommend staying here- and hope to stay here again!

We did not know what we were getting into until we arrived at the dock and were told we had a 20 min hike up the mountain to get to the farm house, but it was worth it! The hike was beautiful, with a waterfall in sight almost the entire hike. Once we got to the house, we were greeted with exceptional service and offered lemonade and shown to our room. The room was beautiful! It has a cozy, rustic feel and the sight of a waterfall from our window. The staff set up a dining area outside overlooking the most gorgeous view of the mountains and the water. They brought us appetizers, first and second courses, and dessert and coffee. The food was phenomenal! In the morning we were greeted with breakfast of assorted cakes, cheeses, jams, breads, cereals, juices, and coffee while overlooking the water. It was a wonderful time and highly recommend to anyone who has the opportunity to go here and enjoy the sounds of nature!

There are only 2-3 taxis in Monterosso (costs 15 euros each way). Wait to buy your Cinque Terre pass and Via Dell'Amore ticket - they can help you purchase what you need here for up to half off! We also did the pasta, pesto, and tiramisu class here which was a lot of fun! Would definitely recommend it. It is 120 euros per person and has to be paid in cash - there are several ATMs nearby. We were here for the first day of the Lemon Festival (mid-May) so all the shops had lemon themed displays up!

The rooms are very comfortable and have all the amenities you need including a terrace with a sea-view. The owners, Matteo and Carla, as well as the entire staff, are the best I have ever experienced. They are all kind and welcoming. They anticipated our needs by giving us information about the trains and hiking among villages in Cinque Terra. My brother in law wasn't feeling well and stayed at the hotel the first day. Carla called a doctor and also checked on him throughout the day. We all took a cooking class with Carla and it was fabulous. We made tiramisu, pasta, pesto and branzino. She was so patient with our lack of skills and made it fun. We all felt we might be able to do these recipes at home. We ate the delicious meal on an upper terrace with an even more amazing view. We were in Italy for two weeks and this was my favorite hotel. THE BEST!

Fresh eggs made to order as well. The coffee can't be beat. And the focaccia! We ate it all day long, every chance we got. When we left, they gave some to my daughter for our train ride to Firenze. It was super addicting. Give in to the focaccia temptation often while in Cinque Terre. You won't taste it's like again. The staff was super helpful and kind. Can't recommend them enough! The hotel is centrally located in Manarola but is also very peaceful and quiet. They have rooms with a sea view or a town view. The rooms are very spacious and have lots of counter space. The bathroom and shower were also really spacious. Jessica and Alberto were very friendly and helpful and helped us to make dinner reservations, bought our Cinque Terre cards at a discounted rate, told us some hiking tips, and prepared takeaway breakfasts when we had to checkout early. They were super responsive on email for the months leading up to the trip too which we really appreciated. Mary Rose was very friendly and made delightful cappuccinos, eggs, and pancakes for breakfast every morning. The rest of the breakfast spread (lemon tarts, jam tarts, chocolate brownies, croissants, yogurt, granola, bread, cheese, meats, cereal, juices) was also incredible. They will hold your bags for you if you need it, either before check-in or after check-out. We can honestly say that we would come back and stay here again in a heartbeat! The rooms, the customer service, and the town of Manarola were perfect.

However, the biggest highlight of the hotel for us was definitely the breakfast. Breakfast was included with the hotel reservation. Normally it's served on their rooftop balcony where all the lemon trees grow, but due to the weather, we dined indoors, which was just as lovely and more comfortable. Highly recommend Eraldo's crepes with their lemon jam sauce. Three of us ordered omelettes and each omelette ended up being garnished differently. It felt like a home-cooked meal. You could see the staff mixing the batter at the front. Their smoothies also used real fruit, and they had a unique lemon smoothie worth trying! I was surprised how it was more sweet than sour. Then there was the yogurt with lemon curd, the freshly-baked focaccia, croissants...I could go on and on. It was definitely THE BEST BREAKFAST we had during our trip to Italy. After we checked out, the hotel staff allowed us to leave our luggage while we continued to explore more of Cinque Terre, and when we officially checked out, they gave us a complimentary heart-shaped fridge magnet featuring Monterosso. If this wasn't the off season, I can only imagine how much our room would have been. Just a few…read morehundred steps from the water, Albergo Marina (aka Hotel Marina) was the polar opposite of our hotel in Rome, in an expected, excellent way. The hotel has five floors of uniquely styled rooms with varying layouts, furniture, and views. We had an L (ish) shaped room on the second floor that looked out on the "street" (more like a cobblestone path) with two separate terraces that we could walk out and sit on. Views of the water are very hard to come by in this part of town, but we were able across some rooftops and up into the mountains. Sitting on the balcony all we could hear were footsteps, animals, the wind, and a constant stream of water heading towards the ocean. No cars fit up anywhere near here, so we didn't hear a single engine from our room. The bed was comfortable and warm, and nice and big. Just FYI, the king size bed is actually two not-so-king mattresses next to one another, so movement during the night could create a bit of a gap in the middle. The shower was amazing, larger than I thought it would ever be for a place like this and the rainfall shower head and water pressure were the best. The free breakfast was nice and simple. Coffee, juice, tea, pastries/bread, as well as omelettes and pancakes made to order. They offered a mid-afternoon snack, and a room here gets you into a free pesto tasting that happens every day from 2pm-3pm just down the street. They have free WiFi, which happened to be much faster (11.12/1.89) than the WiFi at our previous hotel in Rome, and enabled us to stream 1080p Netflix at night without issue. The staff here was extremely nice, and provided us with excellent recommendations on food, drinks, and things to check out while we were in town. I would definitely recommend this place for a stay in Monterosso, especially when it gets warmer and you can leave the windows open 100% of the time.
