I have heard them quote anywhere from $3,000 to $8,000 while pretending to do you a favor saying, "that they will help you out by taking it off your monthly rent but don't tell anybody because your family will be the only family receiving this great deal". There is no genuine care shown towards the residents at all. They are extremely understaffed. There is no acting nurse. The is no acting director of the whole property. The food program is not eatable. The same menu just keeps revolving week after week after week. The place is dirty with no basic cleaning of the floors, laundry rooms and bathrooms. South Hill's corporate office has no clue how the property is even ran. Their best effort is to just send in bodies and platoon most positions. My dad was there many years and towards the end they treated him very poorly. Save your families time, money and hardships and go to a much better facility like the Gallery just down the street. For 8 grand a month they could of put his belongings somewhere else to pick up. Oops they didn't tell the staff, all of the stuff, still in the room. Oh by the way forgot to mention they were calling my mom just a few days after his passing to see when we could pick up the belongings. She paid until the end of the month! This place is a facade, looks nice on the outside, the staff act like they care. Then when you see what it is really like. Can't take care of patients, can't communicate, can't keep the rate as he declined the rate went steadily up. Then they have the audacity to think it will be no big deal to go back in the room to get his things where you watched him pass less than 2 weeks before. If you have a loved one in this extremely sad position, I am so, so, so sorry, it will be a tough journey. Don't make it worse by putting them here.

It was my first time there and I spent an amazing day witnessing the joy of meeting visitors and residents a like. The staff made sure everyone had an amazing time and the smiles of the residents said it all. They then progressed into Assisted Living. In early 2025 my mom was in Skilled Nursing where she eventually passed away. While she was there she had an incident where she rolled out of the bed onto the floor and nobody noticed! It was only when my brother came to visit, he found her! And they wouldn't put rails on the bed to prevent it in the future. In the summer of 2025 they abruptly shut their skilled nursing section, while people were living there! ( That area wasn't profitable enough ). With only a 60 day notice to find other living arrangements! Then earlier this year they sent an email to my brother and myself stating that my 87.5 year old father's needs were too great for them and they were asking him to leave! After his spouse of 64 years has passed away and he is a Type 1 diabetic. WOW! So we moved him over to Rockwood Retirement. They have been LOVELY and professional. Go there! Touchmark's approach is about the bottom line and "no I don't think we can do that". While Rockwood has a caring atmosphere where the staff's approach is personal to the resident and the family and "how can we make your dad feel at home and cared for". Rockwood also has a a minutes response time to emails or vm's while Touchmark has days or no response. I think the choice is clear!

I have found that working at Harvard Park that the Residents who chose to live there are very…read morehappy. They are as busy as they want to be. They enjoy not haveing to gorcery shop and yet have 3 great meals a day, also the dishes get done by someone else. Light housekeeping allows them to be free to do things they want to. Having a security button they can push and get help anytime of day or night has a great sense of safety. Activities are great fun in and out of the community. So if you are 55 and above it is worth a look. And look into the great travel plan.
